EastleighSoulBoy Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 (edited) Have a good day and enjoy the Wembley experience. You are the better team in Hampshire. For the next few years. I sincerely hope that normal service will be resumed as soon as possible. Meanwhile, good luck tomorrow. Because I have less of a liking for the Mancs than I do for the blue meanies. OldNick Posted 10 August, 2008 Posted 10 August, 2008 enjoy while you can.Its a long time before you will be back.
TopGun Posted 10 August, 2008 Posted 10 August, 2008 Much as I enjoy the banter with some of our skate pets I can't bring myself to support them today. Is 'I hope you don't get too badly hammered' sufficient as it's the best I can muster?
Saint Matty 76 Posted 10 August, 2008 Posted 10 August, 2008 So they lost, what a ******* shame. (Yes, this is one of my 3 posts today, but it's glad to be wasted on this).
OldNick Posted 10 August, 2008 Posted 10 August, 2008 what was the joke they recycled about the our pen miss in the play off shootout? Something about over the bar.
RedArmy Posted 10 August, 2008 Posted 10 August, 2008 It had something to do with £60m IIRC, doesn't really translate to a poxy friendly.
OldNick Posted 10 August, 2008 Posted 10 August, 2008 It had something to do with £60m IIRC, doesn't really translate to a poxy friendly.Ok I couldnt remember it. It wouldnt be a poxy friendly if they won. They did ok, I havent heard any reports but to get a 0-0 was good for them.
Colinjb Posted 10 August, 2008 Posted 10 August, 2008 Football is cyclical. Make hay while the sun shines gentlemen.
Denzil Posted 10 August, 2008 Posted 10 August, 2008 Please leave your good luck messages for the Boys here! Go hang yourself skate. The only way is down.
AwaySaint1 Posted 10 August, 2008 Posted 10 August, 2008 Go hang yourself skate. The only way is down. Are you the guy who posts on the echo site? You seem to have the same style.
scott_saints Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 What was the attendance? This is the only thing that matters ffs!!
Crouchie's Lawyer Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 What was the attendance? This is the only thing that matters ffs!! Dunno, but you can bet most of them would be united supporters or plastics for the skates. They cant even fill their shed let alone their quota for wembley! I was driving to Warsash about 20 minutes through the first half and saw a little girl on one of those push scooters wearing a pompey shirt. Really ****ed me off. Obviously not a real supporter as not even watching/listening to or god forbid at the game, but still wearing the shirt. Glory supporters by any chance?!
PompeyLass Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 What was the attendance? This is the only thing that matters ffs!! One hundred million.
PompeyLass Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 Not a sell out then. Nope, you would've thought with the fantastic support we have that we would've sold out 10 times over. Oh well.
TopGun Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 (edited) One hundred million. ****roaches. Edited 11 August, 2008 by TopGun ha ha, that's a bit OTT by the swear filter!

PES Posted 11 August, 2008 Author Posted 11 August, 2008 85k - a record for the charity shield I am told Yep, 4,000 more than the more Attractive Man Utd v Chelsea final the previous year! All in all i'm pleased with the Pompey turnout.
Weston Super Saint Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 Yep, 4,000 more than the more Attractive Man Utd v Chelsea final the previous year! All in all i'm pleased with the Pompey turnout. Brilliant.
PES Posted 11 August, 2008 Author Posted 11 August, 2008 what was the joke they recycled about the our pen miss in the play off shootout? Something about over the bar. Recycled?!?!? Pompey are famous across the land for our biting and original wit! (If only). Anyway it went along the lines of: Did you hear about the massive Party in Southampton last night? Idiotkez put 60 million quid over the bar! (Thats the version I heard anyway) To be absolutely honest, I think most felt a tinge of dissappointment yesterday and that all.
OldNick Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 Yep, 4,000 more than the more Attractive Man Utd v Chelsea final the previous year! All in all i'm pleased with the Pompey turnout. Well you would put a brave frace on it. The top tier behind the gola was a sea of red seats. The Pompey fans were mixed with loads of Red shirted Man u fans. It was a sorry turnout and as thee years go by you will regret not going.

Pompey fans are only famous for that fat smelly tramp Westwood, and even most of your fans think he's a knob.

Shut up Denzil, Westwoods cool as F*ck! Ok, Try this one for original wit (I think?) I found it on Rivals the other day, It's based on John Betjeman's poem Slough. Come friendly bombs and fall on Scum It's nothing better than a slum Where children's sisters are their mum And ponies fear It's just a bland container port Their football team - disgrace to sport The players steal and then get caught Oh dear, oh dear While Premier rivals have their fun Enjoying their time in the sun They languish in the old Div One Perpetual night And soon the Polish will concede That Scumland can't fulfill their need The last one out, a final deed Turn off the light!

Very witty, I doubt anyone from Pompey was clever enough to write that though.
PES Posted 11 August, 2008 Author Posted 11 August, 2008 Very witty, I doubt anyone from Pompey was clever enough to write that though. May I remind you Charles ****ens is from Portsmouth. Though admittedly he got out pretty quickly.

If you can walk with men at shoulder And sing with voice together If to sit upon wood and concrete failing Does make you at you happiest If you can not see what others can? And swear blind that Harry is honest If one day of glory in seventy years Can ease the inner torment If you offer your love to fruit of the sea A flatfish you desire If not bathing and having filthy stench You are comfortable with If being despised by other men You do revel in fondly If you also know your sister To be your Mother If your house have wheels Where brick and mortar should be If disregard for the law of the land And feeding child from state handout If small in number you be If lacking in education also If singing of only one song And blue rags be your chosen attire Then you are a Portsmouth supporter my son Hang your toothless head in shame and weep Kipling -

PES Posted 12 August, 2008 Author Posted 12 August, 2008 The "old div one" would now be the Premiership, f*cktard. No your wrong. The Premiership is the old, old Div one, not the old Div one, your one div.

Why say 'You Skate bastard' when the doctored words of Rudyard Kipling will Suffice!
Crouchie's Lawyer Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Yep, 4,000 more than the more Attractive Man Utd v Chelsea final the previous year! All in all i'm pleased with the Pompey turnout. I could be wrong so feel free to bat me back down but wasnt this the first one at the new Wemberley? Thus meaning the capacity potential was at its highest this time around? And besides which, I would hazard a guess a good 75% of the ground was United supporters!
PES Posted 12 August, 2008 Author Posted 12 August, 2008 I could be wrong so feel free to bat me back down but wasnt this the first one at the new Wemberley? Thus meaning the capacity potential was at its highest this time around? And besides which, I would hazard a guess a good 75% of the ground was United supporters! No last years was at Wembley also. 80,730 attended Man U v Chelsea. I never saw any man u fans in the pompey areas. Ironically there were pockets of empty seating in amongst the Man U fans (Though not many) it does not show up as clearly as the seats are red and most Man Utd fans were wearing red. I'm not dissapointed with the numbers Pompey took, but I am disappointed with the number of Season ticket holders who did not bother to make the trip for this game. Any saints fans wanting to take the **** out of how many of our 'regulars' passed up on the opportunity to support their team at wembley, feel free as i am, on the whole, in agreement with you.

OldNick Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 On the telly's low lights the whole of the Pompey section was sprinkled with fans in Mna u shirts.
PES Posted 13 August, 2008 Author Posted 13 August, 2008 On the telly's low lights the whole of the Pompey section was sprinkled with fans in Mna u shirts. Ok Nick, If thats what you want to believe you saw. I was there and I never saw ONE man utd fan amongst the Pompey contingent. Not to say there may not of been a few, but I GENUINELY never saw any evidence of what you suggest and have heard of no feedback or comments from any other Pompey fans to support your claim.
PompeyLass Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 On the telly's low lights the whole of the Pompey section was sprinkled with fans in Mna u shirts. I think you'll find those are empty seats. I can't see how any fan would've been able to get in the opposite end wearing the opposition colours.
PES Posted 13 August, 2008 Author Posted 13 August, 2008 I think you'll find those are empty seats. I can't see how any fan would've been able to get in the opposite end wearing the opposition colours. Ahh, that explains it. There were plenty of empty seats in the Man Utd end, but not whole blocks of seating like Pompey's. But hand on heart, I can honestly say that bearing in mind the number of 'regulars' that did not attend this game, I was REALLY pleased with the pompey turn out. It bodes well for the future.
