Alanh Posted 25 April, 2012 Share Posted 25 April, 2012 This just don't add up. We've had countless 'sell-outs' at St Mary's since it opened when no more tickets have been available. We've had the JPT semi-final where MK brought about 100 fans who were pushed up inot the corner and all remaining seats sold to Saints fans with minimal segregation. We've also had Matt Le Tiss' Testimonial when every available seat in the stadium was sold, 100% Saints fans and no segregation whatsoever. And how can they possibly predict the biggest ever SMS attendance when Cov haven't even nearly sold out their 1,800+ section yet (that can't be passed on to home supporters)? With segregation and all the empty seats in with the visitors section how could it possibly be the "biggest ever attendance"? Baffling. Presumably it will be a combination of Coventry paying us for all of their tickets, therefore they will count as sold regardless of whether Cov have sold them on to one of their fans; a reduction or removal of the segregation netting and Saints fans buying every other available seat including hospitality. Alanh Posted 25 April, 2012 Share Posted 25 April, 2012 But not all the 34,000 missing fans will be able to get tickets for Coventry. We must have turned about 20 odd thousand fans for this game if they'll all come out for the glamour games. I bet there arent 20,000 people with disapointed faces pressing their nose up at the sold out ticket office windows. Maybe it's me and i'm missing something. No one is able to explain that despite being constantly told on here that this is the best time to be a Saints fan in a lot of people lives and that we need a bigger stadium, that we've been in the top 2 all season and can take 55,000 to a friendly at Wembley why we have played most of the season in front a 1/3 empty stadium. It doesn't make sense. People seem to be taking it all very personally about what they do, yet this cant be the case for 34,000 fans surely? I mean this is an SMS capacity + set of fans that will only turn up now and again. Can someone help me out? Yep. Despite this being one of the biggest games we have played in recent years and despite us being in the best form that most people can remember some of the 34K that we are talking about still won't come along. They might not be able to afford it, might be doing other things, or might prefer to watch on TV. We do know that more of them want to come to this match than any other recent match thanks to the announcement that the game has sold out and the presence of messages on this forum pleading for tickets. The crowd will be made up of the 21K hardcore and as many of the rest that both want and can get a ticket.

Tbf the OS is saying "a new attendance record" so 'attendance' presumably means actually being there as opposed to just empty seats paid for. We completely sold out including hospitality regularly in the Premier League so it looks like they may have found some extra seats down the back of the sofa. Ricky Redstripe Posted 25 April, 2012 Share Posted 25 April, 2012 I'm going to my first home match of the season, and if anyone waves there season ticket in my face, i will quite happily take it off them and shove it up there uber fan arses!! Ive been to 8 away games this season, spent a fortune too, but yeah youre a better fan than me, *****s!! I live in the midlands by the way. I live in the midlands area too, am a season ticket holder and spent a bloody fortune travelling to 23 home league games and home cup games but don't claim to be a better fan. Don't just assume season ticket holders believe they are all high and mighty over the rest of our clubs supporters.
