Jokes aside, and after the last week I can understand where Alps is coming from. I'm as tense as hell. I know we should beat a poor Coventry side but stranger things have happened.

That said, come Saturday its going to be immense and as we all will be, be fully behind us on the pitch, when our first goal goes in, I don't just want to hear St Mary's cheer I want to hear it Roar!!!!! COYR's!!!!!!!!

OK, fairy muff. ....

Looking at this comment and your location I'm not sure you are looking at the right sort of forum at all Alps, try The Muppet Show as Dog used to post frequent links that you'll find interesting, given your new found obsession with female genitalia ;)

Are you really that verbally incontinent that you can't keep control of your emotions on an internet forum?

Christ, there are some precious folk out there.

Think I'm okay, just. But yep, if we blow it on Saturday, the irrational bile that will pour forth from my mouth will be pretty intense.

Readily concede I will be like a psycho with Tourettes if we don't get 2nd....

Don't understand this 'pressure'. We've already screwed it up, thrown away our best chance of a title despite being top 2 all season, and gifted it to a club that only turned up for the second half of the season!

We'll go up, we have 1 p1ss easy home game and players looking to make amends for putting in a poor display at Boro. I'll be relieved when we go up, pleased, happy to look forward to the top flight, focus on the future and credit the team for getting there, BUT have to admit I'll look at this season as throwing away a title. Some don't seem to care, but I just see a club that wins absolutely fck all throughout history and would love that to change in my lifetime. 2 consecutive seasons of promotion, great achievement, but only Saints could do that and still fail to win a league!

The pressure comes because the chance still exists of a double f*ck-up (which becomes a treble f*ck-up when we lose the playoffs).

Agree with the rest of your post though. Our capitulation of the last few weeks has taken the shine off promotion as a concept a bit. We led the league for about 35 of the match rounds, I estimate. :(

Sorry Alps you are at it again - with 'capitulation' and 'taken the shine off promotion' - do you really mean that? Promotion will taste all the more sweeter because it has been earned - and this iside has been top 2 al season BECAUSE its had more bottle realtive to the others over that time. If we screw up oon Saturady, we screw up - **** happens... and it will be painfull to see after such a cracking season, but to suggest this is because the side has somehow contrived to throw it away is disengenuous - This is football and twists and turns have happened as we have seen, you need to have the footbaling gods smile on you to go up and I believe we are due a bit of that after the last few weeks. Come on Enjoy the tension, the frayed nerves, the lack of fingernails, its what makes the game and the league format so captivating. Scary as hell yeah, but its the kind of ride only likely to be surpassed if you get get washed up as the only man on a deserrted island that just happens to home of a rare band of 200 nymphos, who have been without cock for for several months... enjoy :D

Frank (thanks for your PM, btw), you simply cannot restrict this to "we go up or not, at least we are entertained". Last time we were in anywhere near this position, we screwed up and it directly led to administration and took us 5 years and a huge slice of luck to get back here. It will be a long, long time before this happens again if we sorry, I use the word deliberately, capitulate (because that is what will have happened) and during that time we will lose a lot of our players and need to rebuild again; you can count on that.

There is the best part of 100million quid riding on this.....

What a prat

Enjoy it FFS. It's days like Saturday that makes Football the best sport in the world.

We used to relish last day of the season cliff hangers. I suspect SMS will be jumping on saturday. And so many kids etc can say "I was there"

What a load of b*ll*cks. Nobody would have taken them given the chance to avoid them.

Yep, you've just completely changed the context. We were talking about if we go up, but not as champs, having led for most of the season, would it take the shine off. Not turning back on the team because of it.

Cant anyone discuss stuff sensibly on here ??

Why should it be okay to be able to abuse your fellow Saints fans once a season just because some results don't go our way? We all support the same team don't we? It says that abusive behaviour isn't tolerated here yet you, dear Alpine, have spent the whole bloody season abusing your fellow fans and you are still here asking if you can do it with the Mods blessing now! Priceless.

Whatever happens on Saturday we have had an amsing season. WE will end up where we end up based on the whole season's results so little matter if we have been in the top two for most of it.

There is no such things as guaranteed promotion. Those of you who wouldn't have it under Burley should look at WHU. With their resources they should have been home and dry long ago but they are in the same boat as us.

We have two chances of going up. We can beat Coventry or we can win the play offs. This time last season who would not have settled for that?

Yet we have a manic depression start a thread to say that he wants dispensation for slagging off his fellow fans if things go wrong in a couple of fottball matches?

Jeez.

going up as second does not take the shine of it for me, 66 and 78 we were second and stayed in top flight.

good job NA remains positive as do most fans who attend games

hahahahah !!! Trust SOGGGY to get a reference to Burley in somewhere !!! Where's your Lowe reference too ????

And as for your interpretation of this thread it is just.....plain......wrong (prob. deliberately so)

I was asking that everyone get an amnesty due to the stress. As the build up continues, all sort of fracas will break out on here. And the thread was prompted by dune freaking out last night and picking up infractions.

nice to see you are full of drive and amibtion as usual with your "settling for " comments, SOGGY

I dont se why people have to be abusive it amazes me to see such abuse on here when posters have a different point of view

There is nothing we can do but wait and see what happens

I doubt whether West Ham will catch us as the arithmetic is against them.

This is great fun, I do think that this site might implode if we do not go up on Sat!

Yes it will and the world will cease to exist.

However in a parallel universe we will secure promotion and life will be incredible. We will finish in the top 6 of the premier league next season and probably win the FA cup.

All true, but I guess what I an others are trying to convey is that it has NOT happened yet, we still have that game to go and with the talen, graft and spirit + a little bit of luck and teh fact that we must ahve some bottle to still be top two, chances are we will do it. IF we do fail and if its a result of poor performanace under pressure, we will have teh whole summer to wallow in it and pick at teh carcus of the season. Now is all about belief and getting excited by the prospect surely?

I am sure that you will acknowledge that being top 2 all seaosn for thsi squad, frailties and all has been a great achievment and yes it means sod all if it come sto nothing, but because of that consistency (and as we are second we cant say we have not been consistent), and teh neteratinment this squad has given us, I believe they have erned the right for us to believe in them.

After saturday we will be in one of two positions: we are up and we can breathe a collective sigh of relief and begin the summer months of waiting for signing news and speculation, or we will be in the play off lottery - and if we are then we have a choice - give up or give it a go... I am just saying we shoudl not give up until the fat lady does her thing. All I and others are trying to persude you about is doing the same, dont give up when its still in our hands

if we were in that parallel universe, many on here would say we bottled it only finishing 6th and won the FA Cup because other team did not try
