I'm sitting at my desk now looking out of the window and can clearly see the tops of the stands at the King Power Stadium. I will be there tonight cheering on another team like I've never done before in my life. I'm even borrowing a Leicester shirt from a mate. I will be going more mental than any Leicester fan in that stadium if they score this evening.

Good man. I would love Leicester (very decent home record lately, very professional manager, playing under no pressure at all, with a fully fit squad to choose from) to win 4 or 5 nil. A total thrasing please

There, I have convinced myself

If we were guaranteed a win on Saturday, then I'd choose a West Ham win tonight, especially as I'll be richer for it.

Realistically though I'd MUCH rather West Ham fail to win tonight, thus handing us promotion. 5 stressless days rather than crapping ourselves sleepless every night for the next week? 5 extra days of celebration please - and I can take my "Saints got promoted" flag from last season into work tomorrow! (I'll change the years of course...)

Incidentally, we could well finish 8 points clear of West Ham, and we'd wonder what all the worry was about!

Tonight. I don't want the possibility of being in the top 2 all season and blowing it on the final day in my thoughts for the next 4 days. Plus I won't be there this Saturday but I was at the Boro game so I'd like to be over that disappointment as quick as possible.

It's got to be tonight then soak up the atmosphere when the players walk out at 14.55 on Saturday.

What? We'll be on the way home by then

As soon as possible. I've run out of anti-hypertensives.

What a bunch of girlymen you sad sacks are !

The only decent ways left to us now to get promoted would be either winning our last home game on Saturday, or a grand day out at Wembley again. If we can't manage either of that then we don't deserve to go up.

What we may want makes no bloody difference anyway, as the manager would no doubt say - West Ham v Leicester is just not one of our 'controllables'.
