Three Saints stars have been named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

Kelvin Davis, Adam Lallana, and Rickie Lambert were all nominated by their fellow professionals for their individual and collective achievements in the current campaign.

All three have appeared in over 40 games each this this season, making major contributions across the pitch in Saints' push for back-to-back promotions.

Their displays of consistency and improvement have been no coincidence, with the trio also previously selected in League One Team of the Year with Saints.

Davis, who has missed just one league game this season, with 17 clean sheets to his name, is in the Championship select for the second time in his career. His previous listing coming from a third placed finish in the division with Ipswich Town in 2005.

Lallana has marked his second full season at this level with some outstanding performances to go with 12 goals in all competitions. He was also in last season's League One pick alongside Davis and three other Saints teammates.

The division's current top scorer and the man already named as Player of the Year by League Managers up and down the country - Rickie Lambert, is the third Southampton representative in the side. His return of 27 league goals (31 in all comps) is a remarkable feat from his first ever season in the Championship.

The trio were all in attendance at the PFA Awards held in London on Sunday evening to learn of their inclusions

Championship team: Kelvin Davis (Southampton), Nathaniel Clyne (Crystal Palace), James Tomkins (West Ham), Curtis Davies (Birmingham), Ian Harte (Reading), Adam Lallana (Southampton), Peter Whittingham (Cardiff), Mark Noble (West Ham), Matt Phillips (Blackpool), Rickie Lambert (Southampton), Jay Rodriguez (Burnley).

There's a few we could pilfer from there if we go up but congratulations to our three, especially Kelvin. I'm sceptical of how well he will do if we go up but I'd give him at least half a season to prove he's still good enough. (That is unless we make one hell of a keeper signing in the summer...)

I see Ched Evans made the League One TOTY...:uhoh:
