why is it not his fault...he could have said no

much like wigley

In theory yes, but in practice if you are offered your dream job you are going to give it a go.

The chairman should resign.

agree....but to say conner is blameless is daft....he has been terrible for them

Poor bugger. Never stood a chance. On days like today wouldn't it be wonderful to hear a Chairman come out, say sorry and resign.

Totally agree.

I think Connor did the best he could in an impossible situation. You could tell he got the players giving their all but he was totally out of his depth and everyone knew it. I think he's come out of this with a lot of credibility in the way he's conducted himself.

As for the board, what a bunch of clowns. Here's Moxey emphasising that "the Wolves job isn't for a novice" days before he hiredConnor

Slightly bizarre criticism of Chairman imo. He gave an experienced and long serving Wolves coach and assistant manager a crack at the top job - just as the S****horpe Chairman gave their physio a chance and Reading gave their coach McDermott a chance. Much better than plumping for once of the 'established' but past past it serial failures like Burley or Cotterill many go for.

Maybe Connor shouldnt have accepted mission impossible, but he did of his own volition.

Okay to do that, but maybe don't interview/sound out/nearly give the job to several experienced candidates and go on national media with a very memorable quote in "this job is not for a novice" before buggering about for three weeks and then giving it to Connor. You can hardly fall back on the "all part of the plan" defence in that situation. The Wigley appointment was mental, but at least Lowe did it the day after he sacked Sturrock, so at least Wiggers knew he was the chairman's first choice, if not the fans.

I genuinely felt sorry for him when i saw his post match interview. He was very emotional and was desperately fighting to hold back the tears, all while the reporter kept going with the questions. He obviously cares very much for the club.

Kudos to the Wolves fans though, according to TalkSport they were in high spirits and singing about Barnsley. I guess they've had a few weeks to come to terms with their fate though. I do still wonder whether they'd have had a chance with McCarthy still in charge. Funny, because at the start of the season, when they signed Johnson, I tipped them to stay up. Shows what I know.

Probably with less arrogance than the West Ham fans though. Depends how many of their current squad they have left I guess...
