I see that Chaplow will more than likely be out for the last game after picking up a hamstring injury which is a Shame as in all honesty I quite like him as a player as that he

puts 100% in each game home and away even though he does do the odd stray pass But don't we all and that he's a genuine nice person so even though I may get some

stick on here for sticking up for him then so be it But yeh I would like to send my Best Wishes to him and that I hope he is back again playing for Saints in no time and that I will applaud him next Saturday at the Coventry game!!!

Thanks!

Thought he was outstanding yesterday bar his finishing - coming back from a bad injury, getting better every game. A powerhouse. Not the greatest first touch but then that never stopped Viera or Keane from being half decent. Or Scholes for that matter.

Missing him, Lambert and Lallana in December cost us the league in my view. He's the sort of irritating Barton or Savage that a good side has always had.

It's bloody frustrating, just as he was getting back to his form of early on, he's out again. This season has been a nightmare for him injury wise.

The game was lost as soon as he went off, as we no longer had any drive or threat in behind the right hand side. The ballance was totally screwed from that moment.

quite agree , when Chaplow went off no one did the run to the right, Guly lacks the impact that Chappers has, we need to find someelse who will hustle and harry the opposition, not a hard man but someone who gives them no time on the ball.

we were best when we were passing it, not aimlessly crossing the ball, and Chappers out on the right seemed to be the best outlet, but why no Steve or even Puncheon on the bench?

Works hard and puts himself about defensively. Has played some part in neat little passing triangles etc over last few games, but doesn't have much pace, lacks a good touch often, can't be relied upon to deliver the final ball and seems to be really struggling with his shooting. Not delivering enough of an end product for me at the moment; he's below De Ridder in that regard for me.

He does work hard, but he also contributes to our shape and we have a really flexible and dynamic system when he's in the team.

When he's not we are very static and predictable.

Our results have been better when Chaplow is fit and playing and our mis-season blip coincided with his spell out with injury.

this. Looked like Lallana was possibly carrying a groin strain yesterday as well.

I think we're limping over the line as we're carrying quite a few knocks, and we're trying to get players through IMO.

Lambert is one that has to be carrying a knock, and as you said, possibly Lallana too. I also don't think Fonte looks that comfortable at times, especially when he's turned - he seems to have lost a yard and a bit of strength.

It's the culmination of a very grueling season - but thankfully on the whole we've been very consistent all year, which means that we are possibly able to afford this.

We were half the team when Chappers came off against Reading and exactly the same thing happened against Middlesbro. Massively underated....

I've seen every game since he's back -and he's been pretty poor. He has definitely picked up since the Palace game and had his best game at P'boro; but I think Punch would have done just as well in those games. Ultimately we can do much better at RM.

I could not disagree more. Find a recording of Saturday's game and watch it again for me.

Chaplow was all over the full back putting him under pressure, pulling him out of shape and driving the team on down the right.

Puncheon?? Are you serious - if he was the better player, he would be in the team. He flatters to deceive, sadly. Because his head is not right. If it was he could be a good player.

Still not in a mood to watch the highlights. Was there and I thought he had a decent enough game, though he left us exposed down the right where they had acres of space. Thankfully, they kept looking for LJ. His departure left us a bit unbalanced in an attacking sense; but it was far from a game changer.

I agree that he's definitely kicked on since the Palace game but then again some of those games were relative cakewalks. I don't know how Punch would have fared yesterday or how he would have fared had he been given a longer run-out. Chaplow has been cut some slack for some very average performances. Obviously that hasn't happened in Punch's case and given the history, I can understand why NA has been more ruthless, even if I don't totally agree.
