If we dont beat Coventry we dont deserve to go up - simple!!!

COYR!!!

Slightly disagree...( If a little pedantic) if we dont beat coventry and WHU win both their games, we wont deserve a auto spot, but IMHO still deserve to win teh play offs as we will have finshed 3rd about 10 points ahead of 4th.... :p

It seems that Coventry would like us to chant "SISU OUT" with them. In exchange, their fans are happy for us to be given 3 points? Fair trade, especially since they so nearly brought and ruined us!

In return for 3 points, I will chant absolutely anything they want me to.

If we play half as well as we did against Reading it will be a stroll.

This.

Or half as well as we did against the skates. We've played pretty well in our last 2 home games, but we've come unstuck due to outrageous finishing or breakaway goals.

... or silly mistakes and poor finishing.

Our form has been reasonable in the last two home games but I thought we were just a tad pedestrian in our attack. An early goal (or two) against Coventry should allow us to finish the season as well we started it. What would worry me a bit is 0-0 after an hour or so with the tension rising. Could be the chance for someone to be a hero.

Yeah, he did well. 'Keepers playing well seems to be a recurring theme at St Mary's. Maybe it's about time the opposition turned up with someone prepared to give us a Bart Blackpool-style performance.

On the train back Sunday we were stood talking about the game (bloody train was overcrowded and no seats) A guy tapped me on the shoulder and intriduced himself as a Cov supporter. Told us not to worry, they are shiete. Said that they were playing kids that were just not good enough, said Lambert will have a field day against their centre backs and that we'll win 4 or 5, at least. I said our worry was freezing on the day and them having nothing to play for. He said if that happened it maybe 2 or 3 only. He said they are about the level of a Championship reserve side. He said that Donny had good players who if they relaxed could cause an upset, but that Cov were just not good enough, or mentally tough enough to stand up to a full house and a top side determined to win.

Hope he's right...........

My prediction?

Wham win 10-0 tonight and are 15-0 up on Sat.

Saints struggle to beat a dogged Cov rearguard action and as we go into the 93rd minute the score is still 0-0.

Lambert gets sent off for dissent and heads drop, playoffs here we come........then suddenly Guly produces a sublime piece of fleet footed magic to burst through before getting tripped by a dirty Cov defender.

Billy Sharp smashes it home and the crowd invade the pitch after one of the tensest games in SFC history.

Guly is given the freedom of the city.

Easy this prediction lark innit.

To all going on Saturday:

Yes, if you could get all your fellow Saints fans to join us in chanting "Sisu Out" that would be fantastic ! I know that many, many Sky Blue fans like Saints -- similar history, great potential and have experienced Ken Deluded and Sisu ! Would you be kind enough to post this request on the Saints wall ? Cheers -- go and do a Norwich and Swansea -- perform well in the Premiership. SISU OUT !!!

This as well:

I think initially we will hang onto the photos/video. I may put them on YouTube next week. Thanx for the Twitter link too, I'll try that.

Thanx for the positive vibes about us Donny fans. We have always enjoyed coming to the Ricoh and playing you at ours, always got on with you boys. We had Pompey up here last week, most ok but there was tons of trouble after game, smashing our pubs up, 28 Pompey arrests...Morons!

Anyway Ill keep you all posted, If anyone does find the 'fan' Ill mail him the footage.

Its like having a play off final, at home, against a relegated team, a team who have one once away all season, have a 16 year old starting as a CB, against two of the best strikers in the League, not to mention a draw might be enough to win. You couldn't ask for more.

Lets be professional and patient. Lambert hatrick for me and a promotion secured against all the doubters and a bright future.

Our destiny remains in our hands. COUFR!!!!!!!!!

The future is bright, the future is red and white.

Christ, now being so close between us and West Ham and now going down to the last day shows how much we have been limping along for sometime..we really did lose momentum.

Thankfully West Ham were so poor and slipped up at home so many times, otherwise they would be out of sight.

If it's 0-0 for us.

If West Ham win 2-0 we'll be up. If we they win 3-1, they'll be up. I think.

I could well be wrong though. Anyway, it won't come to that. We'll win, don't worry.

Any draw for us and a win by Wham of up to two goals different we are up

If we draw 0-0 they go up with a 3-0 win or better any win by 2 or less we go up

if we draw 1-1 they need at least a 4-1 or any win with a 4 goal difference

if we draw 2-2 they need at least a 5-2 or any win with a 4 goal difference

It's complicated. Our goal difference is 3 better than theirs but we have only scored 2 more than them. So if they win by 3 goals they equal the gd , and if we don't score, they also then beat our goals scored, and they go up. If however we get a score draw we improve our goals scored, so a 1-1 draw and they win 3 nil and we are equal on all counts. In that case it goes to how we did against each other. We did better than them ,so we go up.

The message is we need to score!

I don't think we'll freeze, this isn't Real Madrid we're playing.

All the pressure was on us going to P'Boro, going to Palace, both better teams than Coventry - and we won at a canter without much trouble.

We will have a full house, a terrific atmosphere and up against a team with a 16 year old making his debut at CB alongside Rickie Lambert, and one of our own 'not good enough' players in Craine.

If we play as we did against Portsmouth, Reading, Doncaster, spells in the M'Boro game then we'll win at a canter.

I don't get the logic of people saying that Coventry will be tricky as they have nothing to play for. So why were Leicester going to be a walkover for WHU because they had nothing to play for?

At the end of the day it's always clear to see, when teams have nothing to play for they drop off a %. It always happens, you cannot help it. As a player or any professional when you haven't got anything to play for your drive will not be as high as it would have been.

They are up against a team that are a win from the premier league, we have the leagues best player and the leagues best midfielder. Let's just enjoy the day and embrace the opportunity we have. The players will not let this chance slip and Coventry will not know what's hit them.

So to simplify if we draw they need to win by 3 goals and score 3 more goals than us in the process.

Can you imagine if its ultimately that 94th minute equaliser from David Norris which puts us in the playoffs? I'm gonna have nightmares now..

No, actually I'm not. It is now going to boil down to 1 game of football with no ifs & buts afterwards. We win & all other eventualities are academic. Are we good enough? Clearly. Do we want it enough as players & fans? Definitely. It'll be tense but it'll go our way, I'm sure. We just need to have faith & get behind the lads to push them over the line. COYR!
