Coventry build up thread

Recommended Posts

At last the day has arrived and I'll be setting off in a couple of hours or so for what I hope will turn out to be a party. I'm sure there'll also be some tension in the air but that can be alleviated by a couple of pints, getting right behind the team and then a couple of early goals (by Saints).

I've witnessed many a last day where defeat would have meant playing in a lower division and in a way this is similar. Saints, with the backing of our support, normally wins out on such occasions and I have every confidence that come 1430 we'll be wondering what the fuss was about.

Even in the unlikely event that it does go pear-shaped, well Saints can go again in the play-offs.

Enjoy the day! This sort of occasion is what it's all about.

I'm not nervous about tomorrow at all.

Less than 3 years ago we were going into a pre-season match against Eastleigh thinking it could be our last game ever. A month or so later we were bottom of league 1 on -10. There is no way in hell I am getting upset if we finish 3rd in the Championship, two games from Wembley, and 3 games from the Prem.

There is nothing to be nervous about, just enjoy the ride.

Thanks for this. It's good to keep this sort of perspective. But if we don't go up, the summer will be full of "what if?" thoughts. A few weeks ago we were flying. It's fantastic to be near the top of league division 2. But it would still be a huge deflation if we don't go up having had such a great season.

Must admit that in my more depressing moments I've thought to myself that it would be typical of Saints to be in the top two all season and then drop out in the last minute of the last day. Now that would be something to have a gripe about but surely it isn't gonna happen.

Where are all those people who declare every game as a must win game? Today is your day too :-)

Feeling nervous but confident. Enjoy the day everyone. I cannot believe how far we have come in such a short space of time.

Down in my static caravan in Selsey for the weekend.Wife is doing a large fry up before i leave at 10-30am.Pass skatesville with a big smile on my face around 11am Arrive at my sons house in Bitterne around 11:30am and take a nice walk over Northam Bridge and take my place in the Kingsland Stand and watch the lads tear Coventry apart for our biggest home win of the season.Really cant see Saints slipping up.The players want it as much as we do. Back to the caravan after pitch celebration and then out for a meal to celebrate a fantastic season.COYRS

Will be leaving Horndean about 10:30. Gram Parsons on the car stereo, flicking the Vs to my left as I cruise along the M27 past that septic isle. It's going to be a great day and I feel like a five-year-old on amphetamines. Bring it on.

FECK FECK FECK - just found out that that bunch of *****s at Al Jism aren't showing the game now.

They really should have all their licences taken away from them. Frigging useless shytehawks.

I am fuming. Now got to let people coming from Ras Al Khamieh and Abu Dhabi not to bother.

Al Jism you are a bunch of a holes. How can you change your schedule on the day of the game.

Now it's down to watching the most important game ever on a dodgy unreliable stream on my own instead of with loads of fellow Saints in a pub. FFS

L'Equipe are showing the match "LIVE" but at 4 o' clock. Go figure, probably couldn't bring themselves to jock off some skateboarding or bowls or something to really show the match live.
