They will start with a 16 year old youth team player at CB because they have no one else.

Robbie Savage asked a very good question on Five Live after the game at Leicester on Monday - when exactly was this much talked about 'football' played?
WHenever I've seen West Ham play this season, the quality of their football has been fine, no excessive "hoofball" at all.

few friends are working in Dubai and Fujairah at the mo.....

too many ruskies in dubai apparently..

ORLY?

You know, one Russkie spent 200k pounds for Champagne in a club on NYE. Which, completely randomly is just about double the actual cash deposits that PST have received as they rally to save our fishy friends...

Schneiderlin will be a vital player in this game. He is capable of setting the tempo of the gaming with his passing. Hammond tends to slow the whole tempo down with his crab like play.

We need a big performance from Guly this game. There is no chance Adkins will start with De Ridder. I think De Ridder has only started on two occasions this season, Nige will play it safe and use as an impact sub.

Imagine a last minute Guly winner. Just imagine!

Or 93rd minute penalty knowing Wham are up 4 - 0.

if Guly plays we're f*cked

You didn't go to their matches against us then?
I did. Guess they hoofed it a fair bit down at our place, but more towards the end of the game when desperation was kicking in and they were trying to just get the ball into the box, wasn't great admittedly.

Seen them play Leicester, Brum and Barnsley in the last couple of weeks and the football was fine, nothing amazing, but certainly not excessively long ball. We knock it long a fair bit at times ourselves.

Same ref as we had at Burnley away apparently.Nothing much to report on that occasion but he's got a bit card happy of late.

Thought ref missed a pen in the last min with lallana through on goal- that's before he turned into a little diver.

Brum? Admittedly they were chasing the game but that second half was worse than the Blitz.

Some interesting parallels from the Bundesliga...

"...The potentially most damaging blow was again administered by Ribéry on Saturday afternoon, though. The winger came on to supplement Bayern's B-team and scored a last-minute winner away to Werder (2-1) that hit Dortmund where it really hurts. The champions-elect, due to kick-off their game with Borussia Mönchengladbach an hour after the final whistle at Bremen, had been watching happily for 90 minutes, safe in the knowledge that they would claim the title automatically if the second-placed Bayern didn't win. As much as Jürgen Klopp dismissed the effect of the typically late Bayern intervention ("I was busy talking about dead-ball situations, I didn't pay attention at all," he claimed), switching from friendly into competitive mode at the drop of a hat can't have been that easy. "It was a test of character for us," admitted the sporting director, Michael Zorc.

But it soon became apparent that the pain from Ribéry's strike proved both short-lived and ultimately irrelevant. In fact, that element of doubt and anxiety only added to the excitement, in the same way that Hollywood happy endings are always proceeded by a bleak scene that suggests that the hero(es) won't make it. "I'm happy that Bayern won today, otherwise we wouldn't have experienced this [much joy]," said BVB CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke, gently twisting an imaginary blade.

Dortmund needed two more points to be absolutely sure of their title defence. And there was no wobble.

Fourth-placed Gladbach's resistance proved as futile as that of the rest of the league. In front of 80,000 ecstatic supporters, Ivan Perisic (23.) and Shinji Kagawa (59.) scored to usher in the wild celebrations at the final whistle. Watzke escaped the traditional beer shower thanks to "a two-metre jump without a run-up" but Klopp was soaked on the pitch and later pushed into the changing room pool, along with Zorc, amidst plenty of half-naked, just-about SFW frolicking. "Fortunately, they allowed me to take my trousers off before," said the sporting director.

Even neutrals felt a sense of relief at the final whistle. For the first time in months, we were spared the incredibly tiresome spectacle of TV reporters asking about Dortmund's title ambition, and the regulation replies of "we're only thinking about the next game". No more questions, no more thinking, utterly deserved black-and-yellow bliss. "Salvation!" exclaimed Welt." Adkins and Herr Klopp should sit down for a coffee and a chat!

guly fans are only on this here, talk to any saints fans ,and they all say guly is just not good enough for the starting 11 FACT!

Guly's contribution this year has been HUGE in terms of goals and assists. Yes he isn't in the best of form at the moment in time but he may still have a pivotal role to play on Saturday. We need our fans to support the team on Saturday, and not get on Guly's case like idiots. Nigel knows best and will play him if he thinks it suits our game plan.

I think Fraser, Guly and Morgan will be restored to starting eleven. For me Cork has played well recently but i have feeling adkins will go with Hammond alongside Morgan.

I agree. I think Hammond is more likely to score than Cork albeit only has 1 goal to his name this season. Butterfield and Guly combo wouldn't work imo so if he goes with Guly I fully expect Frazer to play at RB assuming he is fit.

Come the last game of the season and the best 11 does not pick itself as can be seen by debate over Cork/Hammond; Butterfield/Richardson; Guly; Chaplow; SDR. The fact that there is this uncertainty amongst fans is probably an indication of where the weaknesses have shown up leading to some of the disappointing results in the last couple of months. Fortunately this last game is against a weak team because if it had been against the likes of Cardiff, Blackpool or even Leicester, we would be really worried about the team selection. As it is, we should see Coventry off without too much problem, almost regardless of who starts, but there are some hard decisions to be taken once promotion is settled.

A good summary - I agree.

I think the best 11 , for each game, is clear to Nigel which is all that counts (he hasn't got it wrong to often). The fact that 3000 saints fans on here can't agree on a best 11 shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone.....

No wonder they only see Russkies.

Oh btw it ain't open at lunchtimes so send them to Eric @ Goodfellas Tecom to watch the game. They can go for a take-away later

Right, have fun stressing out everyone. My Mum don't have no technology stuff so I'll be pretty much off line all weekend

COYS.

Big Games. THIS is what it is all about & THIS is what we have missed.

(Oh big thanks to Barca & Real for showing what complacency & nerves can do to you. I'm sure NA will use that in the build up)

Boarding time!

Guly is better than all the Coventry players put together. Granted, he's been a weak link in our side over the second half of the season, but he's still far better than what Coventry have to offer. To that end, he should play.

I know he can be frustrating and can lose possession, but I still think he should play. He is working much harder for the team than at the start of the season and it's the sort of game where a moment of flair could be needed, and that's what he can bring.

He came on as a sub for them in the 63rd min of the reverse fixture when the score was 1-2. That was his 1st appearance in the 1st team.

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/MatchReport/0,,10280~58230,00.html

As I remember one of their defenders went missing for our 3rd goal - Guly free header from 6 or 7 yards.

And somebody left the ball in a mix up with the gk for our 4th (Steve).

It may have been him or one of their other defenders at fault for both those goals.

Having watched the goals from that the other day I'm pretty sure it was him that allowed Steve in for the 4th.

Coventry defence will likely consist of Hussey (22) and Clarke (22) at fullback positions with Willis (17) and Craine (24) at centre back. So obviously very inexperienced at the back which hopefully Lambert, sharp, Lallana and Guly will take advantage of.

Actually on paper they look to carry a threat upfront with Platt and McDonald with Platt being good in the air. McSheffrey has a good delivery so we shouldn't give away needless set pieces. The young lad Bigirimana in midfield won young player of the year in the NPC so obviously has talent.

If we control the middle of the park and keep them on the back foot we should have enough fire power to win.
