Plea to Sky not to televise Coventry

Even a point would have pretty much ruled out the chance of WHU going into second at any point during next Saturday's game.

Now, assuming they win on Monday (they may still blow it) they can go an early goal up next week and be second "as it stands". That, my friends, is hell on earth.

But I think we'll still do it. We have the perfect opponents so really we should finish the job.

They'll only be 2nd if we're losing to Coventry...or they score a hatful in the first few mins!

I can't remember the last time I saw us play well and win on TV. I have seen us play well and lose lots, and seen us play crap and win. Seriously considering not watching final day. it would kill the joy of the moment if we do manage to fall over the line, but I just can't cope with another sh1t evening watching Saints. How do you guys do it week in week out?

Yes, you're right. I'd forgotten that the as it stands table will give us a point for being nil nil. Happy days.

This problem with Saints performances on TV is really odd. Pretty hard to put a finger on the reason for the indifferent displays but I'd hope the matter is being addressed. Promotion will bring with it far more TV exposure and altered kick offs.

This is definately the case. Same Problem, as we lost to Blackpool on BBC.

Er hold on, where is this official confirmation that it's on the BBC?

I think you'll find the BBC go to the title winners on the last day, or at least they've done that for the past few years. In case you hadn't noticed, that's not us. NOTHING HAS BEEN CONFIRMED YET. It's all dependant on the outcome of Monday. I know, because I occasionally work for the Beeb!

Stop overreacting.

The only way it wont be on TV is if Saints are already promoted due to WHU losing tomorrow so then a loss wont matter.

If WHU win, its nailed on to be shown. They should only show the title winners if thats still in doubt, Readings game is a nothing match and its not even at home so it wont be a big celebration.

It's the odd kick off times which seem to have a detrimental affect on Saints rather than being on tv.

Exactly this, noticed the pattern around Christmas when we had an extended period of unconvential fixtures. Saturday 3pm and Tuesday 7.45pm games almost always seem to go our way. Whether that has a root cause in our preparations or is purely a coincidence I have no idea.

But yes, there's still more than enough chance to put this to bed.

Don't think it will to be fair. Can't see us getting much more TV coverage than we have had this season and we've had loads of altered KO's in order to accomdate the telly box.

Interesting thing i noticed this week was Sharp's interview after the mid week game said he was 'annoyed' that boro game was on tv... Worrying it is now in the players head, that they cant perform on tv. Also final note since we were last in the PL, every match is televised now live somewhere in the world... gotta sort it out before next year or we will be truly f**ked

But it won't be the same team next year.Anyway on TV or not on TV doesn't make much difference. It's the 16 players who are on the team sheet that make the difference and also the quality of the opposition. We have trouble beating good sides because we have one or two players in our team who just aren't good enough for encounters with the NPC front runners. They look adequate againt Palace reserves and Posh seconds but when there are good players on the other side they let us down.A team is only as goodas it's weakest element.Players like Bailey gobble wimps like Cork up for tea,not that Bailey is a good player mind you.

sorry, i am a bit confised:

is kick off next saturday at 1pm?

If we are on tv does this change?

If so, when are the possible day/times?

And surely WHAM would have to play at the same time?

Jesus, some people have got lives to plan....

All games on the final day kick off @ 12:30, 2 games will be on TV. One on Sky, and one on BBC - but they will be broadcast with the 12:30 kick off time too. It wouldn't be fair to have games kicking off at all sorts of times on the last day, when so much can be decided.

Just so you know for next season, the date and kick off times for the last day of the season are usually set in stone when the fixture list comes out. Of all the matches to plan your life around it is the easiest as every single fixture always kicks off at the same time.
