( although I did like the cottony material effect ones that I seem to remember they did one year) I quite fancy the idea of our back four stuck to my lap top cover.

I had every album full till we got relegated. Looking forward to it again (fingers crossed). Also, if you send in a picture of yourself in your Saints shirt - they can personalise a sticker for you.

Alain Perrin Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 circa 1982 I spent £5 I was given for Christmas on 50 packs of stickers (a waste maybe but at 8 years old I couldn't reach the jazz mags.....) I did get the Derby Country badge which was always one of the better shiny ones.

St Louis Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 I'm also a closet geek! As well as the obvious benefits of watching Saints in the Premier League, I am also looking forward to the Premier League Sticker Album and playing as Saints in PES 2013!

From Panini to Merlin, to Topps - I am really excited and can't wait for next season to have Southampton back in the Premier League and part of my ever growing collection. Just thought I would also mention that I have a Panini Copa America 2011 complete album which also features Japan as a guest nation with a certain Tadanari Lee in the squad.....

Used to love the smell of them. This is what returning to the premier league is all about, oh and the extra few million! Nearly there!

May well end up doing the Prem set if we go up. I remember collecting the stickers one year, and when Tahar El Khalej transferred to Villa I crossed out his face and wrote JUDAS all over his little section of the book. I was an odd child.

Amazing Hangover Posted 21 April, 2012 Posted 21 April, 2012 Proper Panini stickers in the 1970's had backgrounds from the 1950's (1850's sepia, in Newcastle's Case) with an obviously cut out action or mug shot plastered over it, and coloured in with bloc poster paint of the relevant teams colours to cover up the strip they were wearing when photographed. Ok, no transfer window or photoshop in those days, but even as a kid I was troubled by this.
