pedg Posted 19 April, 2012 Share Posted 19 April, 2012 Asked this on the arts forum but not much foot traffic over there and need to know asap. Just won tickets to the premiere of Avengers Assemble this evening and trying to figure out the likely time for a train back so can arrange a lift as will be with one very tired boy. Anyway has anyone been to one of these things and could tell me how much padding there is around the picture? It says seated by 7 does that mean the film will start soon after? Thanks. andysstuff Posted 19 April, 2012 Share Posted 19 April, 2012 Went to the premiere of Brighton Rock last year. There was a Q&A afterwards but ample oppprtinity to leave between the film finishing and the Q&A session.

Joe Kirkup Posted 19 April, 2012 Share Posted 19 April, 2012 Went to the premiere of the Scorsese George Harrison Film last year. Film started 30 mins after seating required time, following a speech by Scorsese and Olivia Harrison. Best bit was the party after. Dress was smart casual. Thedelldays Posted 19 April, 2012 Share Posted 19 April, 2012 yes...when I was 20/21. my mate won tickets in Empire magazine.... was really looking forward to it...had hotel etc..all dressed up for the occasion...however, it was not at the ODEON...but at the warner brothers cinema... hmmm, we thought, something was a foot... We quickly realised the film was a load of shyt and some low budget bollix...we went anyway, the house was about 2/3 full and it was a properly shyt film contender, season 7 its was called....terrible http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0251031/

Not sure if there will be a long exposition from Robery Downey Jr on the emotional conflict he was trying to get over in his portrayal of iron man for this one. No party after for us I fear, even if one was on offer, which I don't think it is.

pedg Posted 20 April, 2012 Author Share Posted 20 April, 2012 Well managed to survive our trip down to the premiere. Due, I suspect to lots of interviews and autographing by the stars, it did start about 30 minutes after the "seated by" time so we did not get home till gone midnight. Did not get to meet any of the stars but we did have to walk down the red carpet section which was a bit overwhelming. Film being shown on all their screens at the same time so we were in one of the smaller hoi polloi screenings. Both my son and I enjoyed it though and he is very taken with his pair of Iron Man 3D glasses!
