Bucks Saint Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 We are going to take photos of the crooked spire before settling down for 9 hours kip in our nice hotel rooms I doubt we will get to Sheffield unless we bribe the driver big time. Any recommendations (for a decent pint that is)? Sheffield could well be rocking when / if you make it. Well, half of it anyway, as Utd can secure promotion this weekend at MK ****eplasticfansstolenclub Dons
Bucks Saint Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 If you're struggling with transport it's worth giving this guy a call, he runs 'Saints Away Travel'. He picks up on the Waterside, Totton, So'ton city centre, Eastleigh and Winchester. He's had luxury double-deckers for recent trips so if you're unfortunate enough to have to travel by coach this has got to be a lot better than the Bingo-Buses. Nick: 07801 867365 or nickgregory2@gmail.com. what, an independent coach, to an away match? And he's done it before? Must be a spurs fan, coz our elderly / drippy people couldnt do this...
sotonjoe Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 what, an independent coach, to an away match? And he's done it before? Must be a spurs fan, coz our elderly / drippy people couldnt do this... I've found she video footage of their trip to Peterborough on the internet...
Gigersaint Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 Thanks Saint Garrett and 100%Red&White for the travel info, at least I know I'll be able to get there once I've sorted a ticket out.
LGTL Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 Who else is staying in Boro after? 6 of us in the Travelodge in the centre of town. Hoping for a disgusting night out after.
Thedelldays Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 6 of us in the Travelodge in the centre of town. Hoping for a disgusting night out after. be amazed if you don't get into a scrape
Torres Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 6 of us in the Travelodge in the centre of town. Hoping for a disgusting night out after. It's Middlesbrough. I think you'll get your wish.
kpturner Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 Who else is staying in Boro after?Blimey, actually staying in 'Boro is a worse choice than we made - Chesterfield.
SimonRichards Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 There are a large number of saints fans staying in Hartlepool on Saturday night.
View From The Top Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 People have actually chosen to stay in Boro? Good god.
Sour Mash Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 Staying in Boro makes sense for a lot of reasons. Lot less p*****g about with travel. Those going back to Newcastle won't be in much before 9.30.
stockportsaint Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 For anyone staying in Boro the night my sis in law comes from there and has recommended Akbars for a curry after. always have to have a celebratory curry after away games. Having been to Akbars in Bradford and Leeds, I can confirm they are quite excellent. Their Masala Fish starter is awesome, as is the Chicken Spinach Balti. In fact, I don't think i've ever had a bad dish with them.
Thedelldays Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 a mate is intact in boro now and will be in the home end...he confirms that the place is a complete dump and rough as fuk good luck with your night out
sfc2003 Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 Trying all sorts to try and get to this game, I've little left till end of month, and without car on Saturday, trying to get some additional funds for ticket tomorrow to ensure I'm covered for rest of the month then just to sort out how to get there in less than 12 hours after I get ticket. Hoping to get something sorted!! Got tickets and space if required...give us a call / text 07840878386

Must be a spurs fan, coz our elderly / drippy people couldnt do this... Well done, you've found the one and only independent coach we take away from home. 52 people out of 4,000 odd are using an independent coach... wow.
ericb Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 You should have gone to York or Harrogate. Harrogate is a nice town full of posh northern birds with a bit of cash and decent pubs and bars, my sort of place. York is just a good place. York is a blinding night out, loads of women there and some awesome pubs. Also the locals have a much better attitude than the backward dins in Leeds. I've been to Leeds a lot and seen trouble every time. Proper backward northern hole that one.
latter day saint Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 People have actually chosen to stay in Boro? Good god. it could be worse, they could be staying in Redcar

Appy Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 Staying in Boro makes sense for a lot of reasons. Lot less p*****g about with travel. Those going back to Newcastle won't be in much before 9.30. This, i was up for Newcastle afterwards but 2 of the lads i'm going with are students and simply can't afford it. We'll have to make do with Boro.
Graffito Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 There are a large number of saints fans staying in Hartlepool on Saturday night. If you're staying in Hartlepool try a walk along the beach at Seaton Carew. Freeze your nuts off.

LGTL Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 Im staying in boro and will be scared to leave my room after reading this thread. We've survived Barnsley, Burnley, Doncaster, Hull (if you could call it a night out) and other such northern dumps this season so are prepared for the majority of scenarios!
Jack Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 Unofrtunately off to see Leftfield, M.A.N.D.Y, Booka Shade, Laurent Garnier and James Zabiela in Brixton. But quite gutted I'm missing it all the same. Shocked that Zabiela is not making the effort to get to Middlesbrough. Plastic IMO

Best trips and nights out are usually in the less obvious places. Cheaper as well.

GazzerMaBoy Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 I'll be the one playing knock and run in the hotel circa 5am. No worries...... I fully intend to still be out on the town celebrating at that point... ;o)
jasonb Posted 19 April, 2012 Posted 19 April, 2012 Who's doing Newcastle after? +2 Although a fair amount of train is required (I'm halfway up here already in Manchester so not so bad for me) as it's just over an hour from Newc to Boro... so won't be getting back to Newc much before 9:30pm which is exactly the time that the Toon comes alive!!!!!!!!!!!! Plenty of lubrication required for those train journeys at any rate
rick1976.4.38 Posted 20 April, 2012 Posted 20 April, 2012 Who else is staying in Boro after? im on the lash with you and my son, aint that enough?
whelk Posted 20 April, 2012 Posted 20 April, 2012 £30 for a ticket, take a packed lunch, car share 4 x £15 each. You'll need £50 tops. what sort of girl takes a pack lunch to the game? I'd rather miss the game than have such lack of dignity

I have not looked because I am not bothered but it seems to really matter to you, so feel free to confirm for certain that is the only one which disproves your troll

Turkish Posted 20 April, 2012 Posted 20 April, 2012 what sort of girl takes a pack lunch to the game? I'd rather miss the game than have such lack of dignity Well i for one will be getting my flask and tupperware box full of fairy cakes out at half time.
Gemmel Posted 20 April, 2012 Posted 20 April, 2012 Anyone else get an email from Saints this morning saying that there will still tickets available? It would seem we do have a marketing department.
This Charming Man Posted 20 April, 2012 Posted 20 April, 2012 Anyone else get an email from Saints this morning saying that there will still tickets available? It would seem we do have a marketing department. That have only come to life on the penultimate game of the season. Better late than never. Or have we got a new Premier League marketing company in for a Premier League club...
RedWillie Posted 20 April, 2012 Posted 20 April, 2012 Honeymooned in York....excellent place for nights out.....and nights in !!!! York is an epic night out to be fair.
