We're in South Upper I think. Who's going to break my fall into the Lower tier?

I heard the South Lower tickets were kept for those who waited till this was a promotion clincher before buying.....

Oh well. Maybe you need to look a bit harder at the fixture list before spending all your spare money on something else that's probably less important than the chance to see your team get promoted in the flesh.

WE cant really afford it, but I told my Mrs that I wanted my nipper to be at the promotion party. He's been to the last 6, with my Brother in law taking him to Palace when I had to work.Staying up in Boro sat night, and would love it if it's job done up there. Personally I think to gain promotion such a long way from home, would be a fantastic reward for our great travelling support.

That was my last game of the season last night, really pushing the luck with the wife and leaving her at home with 3 kids over Easter weekend Saturday and Monday, and then going to Peterbough as well last night.

I could ask, but do not think it is worth it, but would love to be there. Would get the train if I did and would have to take 2 of the 3 kids.

Think I will leave it, but this is not something that happens every day, but it might not happen on Saturday anyway, more likely to happen on Monday or the following Saturday!

Thanks to a combination of :

Someone wanting to go to the match as their husband is at a stag do

Someone buying me a ticket to give them someone to go with

Someone paying the petrol up front to get me as far as York

Someone driving me from York to Boro and back

Someone else kindly giving me free overnight accommodation

Someone else having a car with much better fuel consumption than mine

Not going on said stag do ONLY due to being too skint to afford it

I will be there.

I went to Plymouth last season and did my time - and I've been to Middlesbrough three times before too, including the win in the relegation season.

Otherwise I'd be watching it on the box. Even offering me free corporate tickets to Peterborough yesterday didn't make that possible !

I have some spaces available on our minibus, up and back in the day. I will also be obtaining match tickets tomorrow morning if anyone requires these as well. Unfortunately I can't guarantee that there will be no alcohol consumed on the way home!!

Please contact via text / call me on 07840 878386 for further details.

Well I won't be going...I haven't seen Saints play since they beat Yeovil 2-0 three years ago.

In that time we've won the JPT, got promoted from League One and are on the verge of getting back to the Prem.

If you want Saints to continue being successful then you won't want people like me going to see a Saints game any time soon!

I'll be impressed if we sellout. It's bloody hours away and it's on TV. We had a serious think about doing it last night, but knowing we'd have to go up and back on the day and an the bingo bus at this late stage, it just isn't worth it. We'll have a better time in the pub where we can actually celebrate victory if we get it, rather than sit on a quiet coach home for six bloody hours!

So being at a game where we can get promoted back to top flight for the first time since 1978 isn't worth making a bit of effort? Have a great time singing songs at the telly and throwing your beer over yourself when we score.

He says he doesn't want to sit on a quiet coach home, he'll probably be sat down watching The Voice with a takeaway come 8pm, whilst we're rampaging across the North of England in booze fuelled celebration mode.

Are you allowed to turn up on the day as a 'neutral' and just buy a ticket and sit in the stand. Do they ask for i'd? How would they know we are from Southampton?

Surely as ;long as they sell tickets who cares or are there rules that prevent 'neutrals' wanting to watch out of interest and curiosity?

First of all, what are you going on about? And second, they'll know you're from Southampton as you won't look like something out of Children In Need.

If you are worried about being the only Arsenal fan in the Saints end don't. I'm bringing along a mate who lives up North who supports them.

I'll be in the pubs with hundreds of other Saints fans and then out making a night of it. You'll be in the North worrying more about how smug you feel for 'making the effort' as opposed to just enjoying the occasion.

Why? Why anymore so than all the thousands that didn't go to Hull for example?

Because it's the rules laid down by the hard men of the forum who like to bash away at their keyboards telling each other how they should behave. Apparently there won't be any real fans not at the game. Southampton will be like a ghost town I imagine.

If you choose not to be at Boro on Saturday then you're a prI ck. End of.

Choose Saints. Choose SFC. Choose to follow them. Choose Boro away. Choose a ****ing ticket at the Riverside. Choose getting the train, the car, flying, or even the bingo bus. Choose a great day out, seeing your team win and gain promotion. Choose running on the pitch to celebrate. Choose a stranger to randomly hug in joy, or choose your friends. Choose to applaud the players and management. Choose to leave the stadium smoking a cigarette or a big ****ing spliff. Choose getting smashed in Newcastle and wondering who the **** you are on the Sunday morning.

Or choose sitting on that couch in your bed-sit watching the game all alone stuffing ****ing junk food into your mouth. Choose feeling empty at the end of it wishing you'd made the effort to get your sorry butt up to Middlesborough rather than watching on tv and posting on Saints Web, the feeling rotting away inside at the end of it all, ****ing your cheap lager into your own miserable toilet, nothing more than an embarrassment to the proper, ****ed-up fans on the rampage up North. Choose your way of support. Choose right . . . But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose going to Boro: I chose something else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got Saints Web and a matchday thread full of part time supporters?

Speaking personally I can't make midweek away games which are any more than a few hours drive away due to the kids. As for everyone else, well **** knows.

I won't feel smug at all. I'll just feel sorry for those celebrating at a TV screen whilst we're bouncing around in the ground with the players and staff..

Wow ... that's kind of you! You're going to to travel all that way to see our moment of glory, but when it comes you'll be thinking about how much 'better' you are than those who stayed at home. Dear oh dear. I can assure you I won't be giving you and your 'ultra' mates one thought. You should probably see somebody about those insecurity issues before they get out of hand.

It just cracks me up that there are posters on here calling other fans "pr1cks", for not going to this game, when plenty of those that will be attending are jumping on the bandwagon. How many of those would have gone if this game was in the middle of November? Having proper support up there would be just as important as it will be for this coming Saturday.

It's quite funny, but it will be even funnier when they all get home and log on to The Saints Web to moan about what other supporters were or weren't singing at the game etc. I might do my bit by dishing out some Saints supporter guidelines to people in the pub I choose to go to.
