Fitzhugh Fella Posted 17 April, 2012 Share Posted 17 April, 2012 If tonight Saints were 5 points behind the 2nd placed team with 2 games to go would you want your best players to bust their gut to try and overcome an unlikely scenario or would you prefer Saints to gather their wounded and concentrate on the play-offs? In other words if you were Big Sam where would you now place your priorities?

Big Sam can decide what team to play after we have played Saturday, Its irrelevant anyway, we just do what we do, control the controlables

Cestrian Saint Posted 17 April, 2012 Share Posted 17 April, 2012 We're in a good position on Saturday. Cardiff play Leeds at 12.30. I think I'm right in thinking that if Cardiff win it doesn't matter what Boro do against us as they won't be able to catch Cardiff and make the play offs. So a perfect Saturday would involve the following. Cardiff to beat Leeds. Bristol City to beat Barnsley or Derby to beat P*mpey as either result seals P*mpey's fate and Saints to beat Boro so that we're not dependent on Leicester doing us a favour on Monday night. It is not just Cardiff that Middlesbrough can catch. Blackpool and Birmingham wins would also be required before Saints kickoff to ensure Middlesbrough have nothing to play for. Frank's cousin Posted 18 April, 2012 Share Posted 18 April, 2012 I am still so nervous, I need to man up Just imagine you are facing 25 bent brutal racist coppers on a 1980's picket line - That should help with the 'manning up' - No need to be nervous as I have said in my omnipontence all along () - twists and turns, a good dose of Karma and the fact that if you look at our results, we have not handled the 'gap' at the top well when we had the advantage - gone a few points clear... let the other catch up, some fans get alll silly and then we go and win again to put the fans at ease - think we are a better 'chaser' than leader. Good times - hope we put it to bed on Saturday and you never know, Brum might get a result againts Reading and win agaisnt Cov could see us as champions - stranger things have happened.... As well as Redaing have done and congrats to them for a stroming run... someone needs to remind McDermot that the season is 46 games long and not 30 - him saying apart from teh first 6 games etc.... we could say the same thing with we removed our 7 game wobble before chrimbo... we would have been out of sight had that not happened.... spyinthesky Posted 18 April, 2012 Share Posted 18 April, 2012 I am still so nervous, I need to man up Duncan it must be in our DNA as long standing Saints fans Ironically I had West ham down to lose against Leicester assuminglatter would make a strong run for the Play offs. Bearing in mind how much the new Leicester owners have put into the squad they must be very unhappy Guess Leicester can go full tilt (and thery would be difficult opponents) or roll over and give up a la Brighton

colehillsaint Posted 18 April, 2012 Share Posted 18 April, 2012 Fat Sam will probably realise that a momentum of winning will serve them better going into the play-offs than resting players, especially with the size of his squad.
