And so the day dawns. Shroppie expects that every Saint this day will do his/her* duty. That is all.

* before the pc brigade get me.

Too right mate! :-)

I'm doing the serious celebrating tomorrow (hopefully) as it's my birthday and we've a league match. I sooooo want to play and get a goal so I'm going to be kind to my system. Monday I'm not working...

Just checking in with the 8am roll call, sorry I'm late. :D About to set off from sunny Brizzle. Can't wait!!!

A 747 could not land at Southampton. Even a 737 couldn't get in there, the runway is too short (and too narrow for a 747) even if it was empty.

Bournemouth then, just youtubed one landing there. Add a few hundred on the bill, hell a couple of thou, still sounds astounding. If it's possible.

I can see the wait untill kick off is really going to drag.

I cannot concentrate on anything other than the game.

This is painful.

Is it too early for a beer?

My little boy can hardly contain himself.

when we go up...will you finally see that adkins is quite good at his job and the players tend to play for him now and then?

Adkins has done a sterling job thus far,it also seems the players have adapted well to what he wants them to do,however much

it meant they have had to change their own preferred personal playing style.

They got there eventually.

Onwards and upwards I hope.

Enjoy the day DD.

A 737 can get in and out of Eastleigh. Had the pleasure of being diverted from Heathrow a few years ago. It was tight though.

Joshua King anyone?? On loan at Hull from United. Seen him take Cardiff apart a few weeks ago single handedly. Was very impressed. Played on the right that night but can also play through the middle. He is a very similar player to Matty Phillips. Cant see him getting a chance at United and I think we could get him fairly cheap.

Well a few casual beers a quick trip to the seaside. I'm going with a few mates from uni, one of them being a Boro fan and the other who is a neutral going as Bananaman...Look out for him. ha

good luck to the team and all the peeps travelling have a great day and here's hoping....all saints from around the world are united in sending the positive waves through no negatvity today please.

I am 2 hours ahead here so will let you know result in advance so that you can chill and relax... maybe I have started drinking the beer a bit early

I'll be watching online from bed resting up for tomorrow.

Promotion would be a nice pre-marathon boost. Although I may then be too excited to sleep.

Do think we'll win though. They're good when they know exactly what they have to do, and I think those Reading celebrations will have hurt them having led the way for so long.

Good luck Adrian for tomorrow. My GP friend is doing it too and when he went up to register at Excel on Thursday, was told by an organiser to 'watch out for the sh1t and puke from 15 miles onwards'! Lovely!! Good luck mate; take my hat off to anybody running the marathon.

Thanks mate, I'll need it!

Hadn't thought about the sh1t and puke! Hopefully if I'm reasonably quick I'll get there before most of that floods the roads.

I've run about 50 marathons, some of thm not too bad, never seen much sh*t and puke though, sometimes a little bit of puke in the finishing zone.I'd be more concerned about all the plastic bags, water bottles and old clothes in the start zone unless you're

in the fast lads section.

YEEEELLLLOWWWSS...what a day this could be, watching in O'Neils in Shepherds Bush would some other Saints. Going to be a good one.

Starts 9.45 with the biggest group. What time do you think I should get there to try and be vaguely near the front?

'Bout now I'd guess...seriously though pretty early,I've run London 3 times but I've always had the advantage of having an AAA

championship number.Don't much care for the London Marathon, start is too eccentric from the available accomodation, you have to tart about with trains and a bit of a hike to the start. They used some sort of wave start in Paris last week, gives everyone a chance of a decent unhindered start I suppose but I'm not too sure of the principal that was used to allocate the start waves.

At Paris Versailles it used to be on a strict 10km time order for the first 6 or 7 waves then in whatever order the people turned up in afterwards. It was complicated though, easier now with chip timing being accepted for standards levels and not just the main clock time.

Aren't there pacemakers at London? If so just get in the group for your target time, those lads will know what they're doing.

Yep looked it up, Runners World are doing them again, guess the modalities are somewhere on the RW site if they aren't in the

Marathon Information booklet.

Luckily I'm staying near London Bridge, so 20 mins from door to Greenwich Park. Want to be there early, but not standing around in the cold for ages. Probably aim to arrive an hour before the start. I don't need to do anything. No bags to hand in, nothing to pick up etc.

Thanks for the tips over the weeks though.

I'd have thought an hour before was way too late but I'm unfamiliar with how it is at Greenwich nowadays.Do check out the pace groups though.Best of luck with it, probably have a look on Eurosport after my run.

I've got a confession to make.....having been pessimistic all week (in a reverse psychology kinda way) I did something very silly this morning.....I bought a nice bottle of bubbly and put it in the fridge to chill for a post match celebration.....you just know what'll happen next......

I blame you if it all goes wrong today then :)

You see I nearly did this with a bottle of jonnie walker (not the fridge bit obviously) but refrained just in case.

Superstisions are stupid but I can't stop myself, is that a little OCD?
