Best man at my mates wedding. Gutted. Totally. Been watching Saints since 1977, had an ST since 1980. Can't believe I won't be at Boro to see us go up. Please everyone give em a cheer for me, UTS. Be there v Cov though!

would love to go...but I am a plastic and have no one to go with from the west country....could not have a further away game for me in this league

Wasn't RAF Saint looking for a travelling companion yesterday? think he's around Gloucester way somewhere.

Hi guys, I don't post very often, well hardly at all. Unfortunately I won't be able to make the Middlesbrough game Saturday

As I have family commitments. I did go to Peterborough, and glad I did. The boys done us proud as I'm sure they will Saturday.

I wish all the fans going up a great time, and hope and pray that it's a promotional party at the end of it. Coyr.

What I wanted to add was, my sixteen year old and a couple of his friends came up with a (I think) a great little song for the

Saints fans to sing, either Saturday or even for the Coventry game.

It goes like this:

I'm Southampton 'til I die,

You're Pompey 'til July,

We're going up,

You're going down,

Now **** off and goodbye.

Have a great game guys. Coyr

Great, another song about a team we aren't likely to play again for a long time. Don't we have enough songs about them already? No offence to your nipper, but how about some songs about us, or about teams that we might actually play against.

So that was you behind us in the seats at Peterborough then?

Taking a hit on this one and staying away from it, was going to stay up for the weekend but this years record of staying away reads:

Bristol L

Brighton L

Blackpool L

I just can't ruin the day for everyone so I am staying as far away from it as I can, plus I blew my budget on Blackpool and Palace as I thought we would be up at the Reading game and Middlesboro would be a formalilty!!!

Still hope everyone has a great day out and brings back the win, promotion and headaches!!!

I will be attending my daughter's 18th birthday party on Saturday which makes me a plastic fan, admittedly.

On the upside, I will be watching the game in the presence of 20 scantily clad 18 yr old girls, drinking Becks at £8 a crate not £8 a bottle, and singing "look like a wotsit" without any complaints from anyone, least of all Turdish, Graffiti or Dumb... :) while you lot freeze on Teeside and ingest the dirtiest air south of Chernobyl!

Oh, am I allowed to come to the Cov' game, only I have a ticket here with my name on it....?

(If you cannot see the irony in the above and understand that were it not for having a family and one of them being 18, I would move heaven and earth to be on Teeside, then you are a prat of the highest order).

You would have been OK though, because Middlesbrough starts with an "M" not a "B" :D

I had a similar dismal record until finally seeing a league win at Forest. Been great ever since (apart from Blackpool, which was dismal).

Fair play to you. That's proper support unlike the plastic tw*ts that can't be bothered as it's on the TV.

See you up there.

Really?

A fan is a fan, regardless of them turning up to games or not. Hey I know lets write off the additional 'plastics' that have been going to the odd game or two home and away the last two seasons hey?

In fact it's probably the dirtiest air NORTH of Chernobyl believe it or not!

What I love about this site is that, between all the hoodies, casuals, teenagers, manic depressives, day-release patients, trolls and tax-dodgers, there is in fact the odd nugget of learning! Thank you, sir! :)

I thought about that but people call them 'Boro so I've erred on the side of caution!!!

Day trips on the train I have a good record this year but throw in a B&B or hotel and we can't buy a win!!!

Good point. Stay at home. In all likelihood we'll have to wait until Monday to celebrate anyway.

Not if we win, surely?

That would be 8 points clear with 6 to go for Fat Sam?

That is why I said "in all likelihood". I am anticipating a draw (or worse) based on our propensity for dragging it out as long as possible.

"Down negative man, down...."
I cannot help myself. At Peterborough, with the score at 3-0, I was still convinced we would either concede three late goals OR West Ham would get a winner. I was just as bad at Plymouth last year when we got pegged back to 3-1. Strangely, I cannot remember being so negative as a kid when we last got promoted to the top flight. I guess it must be just down to the endless kicks in the nuts I/we have had over the years.

See you up there.

I'll be watching on TV. Want to know why, you judgemental tw*t?

Because I'm unemployed and have been for a year. I have to save to go to Saints matches, and I cannot afford to go to Middlesbrough. I'm a massive plastic though because I've only been to 90% or so of the home games and have bought the home shirt. Terrible isn't it.

Why don't you take your opinions on other people's levels of support and shove them up your arse. It's no business of yours what games your fellow fans go to.

out of interest where do you live and what sort of work do you do? and in the time you spend on saints forum how many jobs could you have applied for? i've been looking at jobs recently and depending on how low you are prepared to go there is a lot out there.

I search for work every day. Go and patronise someone else.

I am not going- My wife is 38 weeks pregnant with our first child and although I am gutted iwill miss the game, i would be far more gutted to miss the birth of my son- does that make me plastic or is it a good enough excuse?

Let us know whether it is born on Saturday or not and we'll let you know.

pity this thread is deteriorating into another who's the better fan **** measuring contest

Those who can go and want to go will, those who just cannot won't.

Some respect for the situation of others is needed all the same.

I'm not going. I've got a date with a 29 year old red head from Essex on Friday, then a 25 year old Nanny from the Czech Republic Saturday lunchtime, then a 24 year old Chinese girl on Sunday.

No I was in the terraces!
Then the song isn't original after all. A few hairy-arsed blokes behind me kept trying to get that one going all through the second half - without success.

Packet of 12 and a case of Red Bull required then.

Are you going to the game Derry ?

No Mike. I take it you are ferrying and driving then. The roads from ABZ south used to be awful when I was based there but I presume that they have improved somewhat. I used to fly everywhere.

I know the feeling :(

I can guess...

There should be a stream or two so hopefully us overseas fans will be catered for. It's my birthday the day after and I'll be playing footie and surrounded in the changing room by scantily clad... you get the idea. Anyway, I'll leave the celebrations until Sunday... No work Monday, so I'm all set...

Don't let me down Saints...

Rule 1.

We expect your report on the Post Match Thread.........feasibly could bring the server down, if promotion gained as well.

This type in 48 hours we can be in the premier league . I still have to sort out some where to stay. Where are my fellow saints fans staying Saturday night

Quite a few of us in Darlington.

Surely best case scenario for us would be if the results before our game mean Borough can no longer achieve play-offs as they're bound to be deflated by that.

Looks like there are going to be loads of Saints fans on the trains back to Newcastle after the game. There are 4 of us, I'm aware of another group of lads doing the same, and quite a few have mentioned it on here.

F**ked up big time with bookings, reservations - having to take a national express coach from london and do it all in one day.

If anyone's desperate, there are coaches from london to m'boro. just means leaving m'boro midnight on the saturday.
