RedArmy Posted 17 April, 2012 Posted 17 April, 2012 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/9652402.Firefighters_tackle_large_blaze_at_docks/ Pretty nasty smell all over town earlier, can't imagine it's that good to breathe in either.
Window Cleaner Posted 17 April, 2012 Posted 17 April, 2012 Pretty nasty smell all over town earlier, can't imagine it's that good to breathe in either. tbh it's been like that since we had 3000+ fishy bastards here 10 days ago.

hypochondriac Posted 17 April, 2012 Posted 17 April, 2012 Smelt that last night and thought it might be some sort of coal fire. Supposed to really bad visibilty along Millbrook road... Thought it started 9AM this morning? It's horrible where I am in upper Shirley.
Block 18 Posted 17 April, 2012 Posted 17 April, 2012 Bad enough in Bitterne Park, must be really bad where you are
Jonnyboy Posted 17 April, 2012 Posted 17 April, 2012 Thought it started 9AM this morning? It's horrible where I am in upper Shirley. I dunno, was definitley the same smell last night, maybe they're telling porkies.
S-Clarke Posted 17 April, 2012 Posted 17 April, 2012 Couldn't drive down Millbrook road earlier, just like driving through dence fog. Very very slow moving.
timebomb Posted 18 April, 2012 Posted 18 April, 2012 Seem to recall there was a scrap metal fire in Northam about 10 years ago and that smouldered for about 4 months.
Gingeletiss Posted 18 April, 2012 Posted 18 April, 2012 How does scrap metal burn ? Anything will burn, given the right conditions. In this case, compression, with a nice onshore breeze! Compression causes friction, the breeze added the oxygen.
