I go to a lot of them on my own tbh as I would normally go with my Mate who I have a ST with who can go when he can and I also go with my Brothers as well when they can

But I don't mind if I go on my own as I talk to people on the Coach/Train anyway so is Fine by me...!!!

Having left Southampton at the age of 9, I have been to loads of away and home games on my own, after a couple of Stellas there is always someone to have a chat with. Over the years I have met people and gone with them. But I'm comfortable either way.

I got a message from your mum n dad, they would like you to call them please, just to let them know that you are safe.

Btw, how did your meeting with the man from the motor trade go?

Yep. Moved away many years ago and not too many Saints fans live here! Sister used to join me but died at an early age last year sadly. Have seriously fallen out with brother in law and my brother is too skint to manage away games so does St Marys only. Take my lad (12) sometimes!

That said, first time on my own was Oldham away - 6-0 was well worth it! Agree that most people are v friendly so always someone to chat to

Used to go on my own when I was at Uni in London

Remember once being in the stand at Selhurst Park amongst the locals we scored I jumped up to celebrate looked around and was being watched by hundreds of silent CP fans

I only ever go on my own these days. Don't know any other Saints fans in Sheffield (well, only one who is a 'passive' fan - hasn't been to a game in years) and none of my old mates from Southampton go to away games. I'm not going to let that spoil my enjoyment though - you're never alone when you've got a couple of thousand people all singing along with you!

Only once, Northampton away in the cup a couple of years ago. Just decided on a whim to go, and thoroughly enjoyed it. As a few others have said, our support is generally very friendly and it is easy to strike up a conversation. Would do it again.

Nearly always go away on my tod. Occasionally Mrs JK will come. Hartlepool,Hull were fun and I'm off to Boro sat on my tod. Only problem is can't get group saver train fares so it starts to work out pricey. Always trying to find out where everyone is drinking before games but it's never clear. Maybe we should have a soloaway supporters club for us saddoes to meet up for a beer before games?

I go to a lot of games from Sheffield. Have met quite a few of the Northern Saints through living here as well.

probably going to the middlesbrough game on my own. driving up from Dorset. Just have to be there. One of my biggest regrets is that i wasn't at home park last year. I did manage to get into the walsall game with out a ticket though. Always been proud of that. Anyone else managed to sneak a saints game?

I have a couple of times.......

Used to do it all the time before I moved to Southampton, home games too. I didn't know many people who went to games so I went for the footy not the social aspect.

Basically when I was a kid in th'80s none of my mates went to matches (understandable then, especially in Newport) and I got used to going with my dad. However, being a Saints fan in south Wales was a lonely business even in 2002/3. I usually went on my own and sometimes met up with an ex-student mate and his mates. This wasn't helped by not knowing if I'd be playing on Saturdays until a few hours before Saints' kick off sometimes.

I had some kind of revelation after basically spending 4 tedious days in Bucharest on my own once everyone else had gone home, and having met a few people via Saints Forever I'm now mates with lots of Saints fans and a particularly select group get to accompany me to matches, including my wife. :D

For the record, the last time I went to Middlesbrough away to see Saints was in 2005, when I drove from Newport to Southampton, on to Middlesbrough and back to Newport basically in 24 hours. I fell asleep on the seats at half time and Javi (remember him) took a photo. I already knew plenty of Saints fans by then but the end destination meant I did the 15-ish hours of driving alone. At least we won though.

I think my personal best was Bolton away in the League Cup the week before Christmas, extra time and I was at work Christmas parties the night before and night after. Drove there and back on my own. Delap hit the bar and we lost.

Living somewhere where, to the best of my knowledge, I'm the only Saints fan in the town means I often make solo trips.

But it's not a bad experience. I enjoy driving, so the 200 miles each way isn't a problem. In fact. the trip home after an evening game is so quiet it's a real old-fashioned driving experience. But most trips I make by train and it's rare to have a journey without interesting conversation. Because I always wear my Saints shirt I'm forever being asked why I'm in Birmingham, Crewe, Newport or wherever if I've been to a home game. A couple of weeks ago I was simply asked in Shrewsbury if I was lost! And that leads to many cheerful hours spent in conversation with a huge range of people - Saints fans, fans who've been to other games, and even people who don't know anything about football. All of which I enjoy.

And fans I've chatted with in pubs in Southamopton have become mates who I regularly meet.

Not to say I don't enjoy the odd game I go to with company, but in general I'm perfectly happy going it alone!
