His beautiful high-resolution images of the sun taken using a backyard solar telescope show startling textures and

details unable to be seen with the naked eye.

 

Amazingly, he takes most of his photos from his home in Buffalo and has a day job in the greeting card industry.

I'll be observing a perfect annular solar eclipse on May 20th, about 150 miles north of where I live. Very lucky to see it as it will only be visible in a narrow band across a small part of the West.
