Matty's Caddy Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 Just phoned up for three tickets for tomorrow night only to find out all the travel coaches are full With 800 tickets left I asked at what point, being a Tuesday night and a real pain on a train, would they decide to put on another coach only to be told that that was it I find that rather poor Wonder how many others have been turned away?
Saint Garrett Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 Is that not your fault for not booking earlier ? Although I do agree that they should be willing to put on another coach should the fans need it.
dune Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 You've had long enough to sort it, it's not their fault you're disorganised.
Nexstar Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 The club obviously have a cut off point at which they can't book any more coaches. I doubt they'd turn down the opportunity of more profit if it was possible.
Matty's Caddy Posted 16 April, 2012 Author Posted 16 April, 2012 Nice one dune, obviously you've never decided to go to a game on a whim I feel really inferior to you You're a much better fan than me
supersonic Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 The thing is, it probably depends on how many people want to go by coach. I remember Wycombe Wanders away when Pardew was boss, they didn't put on a 3rd bus until last minute.
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 i make that 3,500 tickets sold so far then which is a decent amount for a tuesday night game albeit a crucial one.

This Charming Man Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 i make that 3,500 tickets sold so far then which is a decent amount for a tuesday night game albeit a crucial one. Hopefully a nice walk-up will get us up to 4,000 which will be a respectable amount for a mid-week jaunt.
The Mac Attack Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 Mate and I were also after coach travel and got the same response from the Tkt office, guess we will now be listening to it on the radio.

Worth keeping an eye out or even ringing the ticket office direct to clarify as the outsourced centre don't really have a clue what's going on half the time. The fact they've said there definitely won't be any more coaches probably mean the stadium ticket office are in the process of sourcing a few more.
dune Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 It's only a 2 3/4 hour drive. Yeh it's gonna cost 40 quid in fuel, but it's a big game.
The Mac Attack Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 What number is best to use then? I was just using the 0800 2800 050?

rick1976.4.38 Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 if theres a few of you,maybe get together and hire a mini bus,its a game not to miss,coys
This Charming Man Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 Or try Saints Away Travel, they were running a coach to this one.
Saint Garrett Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 If you want to go that much, you'll be there one way or another !
MatthewStiles Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 SFC really should get its finger out. It's not just about the fans, it's also about the team. Everton provided free coach travel to the away cup game at Sunderland and were rewarded with a brilliant turnout and great support (and they won).
Orange Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 4,000 for midweek would be a really good following. I suppose people are able to make it, just leaving work an hour or so early. Just hope we put one away in front of that away end..
This Charming Man Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 If you want to go that much, you'll be there one way or another ! This.

tartan_saint Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 And how do I get hold of them if you please? sold out mate... tried him earlier
This Charming Man Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 And how do I get hold of them if you please? Have a butchers on the away forum, think their number was put up on there. Also worth putting a shout out on there for any spaces in cars or mini buses, if you're serious about going.

Pathetic that the club needed to bribe fans with free travel for a game an hour up the road. Imagine if Saints offered free travel for Reading or Brighton away, we'd sell the whole ground out ourselves.
This Charming Man Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 If enough people get on at the club, surely they would put another coach on? Unless they genuinely can't source any more coaches at such short notice?
Orange Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 If you want to go that much, you'll be there one way or another ! True, looks like i'm sleeping the night rough in Winchester to be there.
This Charming Man Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 True, looks like i'm sleeping the night rough in Winchester to be there. Cab back to Andover from Winch should only be around £30 if you do a spot of haggling.
Noodles34 Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 why did i pay the booking fee on Saturday when ordered online, and then go and collct the tickets this morning. And i call my self a successful businessman (though no one else does)

70's Mike Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 If enough people get on at the club, surely they would put another coach on? Unless they genuinely can't source any more coaches at such short notice? Probably not coach shortage but stewards for coach from travel club
Orange Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 Cab back to Andover from Winch should only be around £30 if you do a spot of haggling. As i live 10 odd minutes west of Andover i've been quoted £60+ that time of night. I need to be in Winchester in the morning so think i'm just 'gunna brave it!
Orange Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 chris, think youve a pm from a fellow saint offering you a lift up,have a look Thanks rick, but thats just to Winchester. At least i'm not going to miss it!

rick1976.4.38 Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 Thanks rick, but thats just to Winchester. At least i'm not going to miss it! alright mate, see ya there
This Charming Man Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 Thanks rick, but thats just to Winchester. At least i'm not going to miss it! Also, a mate of mine once walked back from Winchester to Andover; he was p1ssed out of his face, had thrown his phone in a bin and had no money so decided to walk it. Took him 6hrs. Could be an option... ha.
Orange Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 No cheap hotels or hostels going in Winch? I'll have a look, suspect they'd all be a rip off in Winchester mind. If only i had the sanity of a normal person who would just sack it off..

Window Cleaner Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 I find all rational thought goes out of the window for Saints, especially a game as big as tomorrow! And not just for games, ask all the idiots who bought shares, just like chucking money down the bog, although we did get a couple of meagre dividends.
COMEONYOUREDS Posted 16 April, 2012 Posted 16 April, 2012 you could stay at the filo, as 'featured' on the hotel inspector. Will be a **** nights sleep but for £25 its better than sleeping rough! HTH http://www.filowinchester.co.uk/rates
red&white56 Posted 17 April, 2012 Posted 17 April, 2012 Bender - Wish I'd known this earlier - we're going by train from 3 bridges!!! We could have shared the drive / petrol.
