chocco boxo Posted 15 April, 2012 Share Posted 15 April, 2012 Over many years supporting Saints, I have lately met ex work colleagues, ex school friends and other people who never showed any support towards Saints when I was younger or working with them etc. I have seen these people over the last few years at SMS and away matches supporting Saints. I personally think it is great. One ex work colleague did not even like football now he seems to be one of our biggest fans!!! Perhaps it is having children that have got them on the Saints bus! Anyone else experienced this?

S-Clarke Posted 15 April, 2012 Share Posted 15 April, 2012 glory hunters . I've also noticed the same, people that never really noticed our results ''Oh, did saints lose again this weekend?'' are now fans who know the results without me having to tell them. John Boy Saint Posted 15 April, 2012 Share Posted 15 April, 2012 Always remember at School in Baughurst near Tadley, I had a mate, Peter Walker, who had been dealt a crap hand from birth which had him with really deteriorating sight but he made it through secondary school unscathed. What he did love was going to the Dell for all the home games with his Dad, he sat on the centre line so that he could make out the action at both ends ( he always wanted to go onto the Miton Road end but said it was pointless as he would only see the first half!! Anyway I digress: as we use to hang around together at lunchtimes there was always someone popping up to talk Saints, next thing I know there is a whole network of Saints fans at my School in North Hampshire, this was old money second division Saints. Next thing I know I am on the shopping bus or train to Southampton to see Saints with my mates, a few of whom were in years ahead of me: which was cool. All of them my first 2 years at secondary school I had no idea existed.
eurosaint Posted 15 April, 2012 Share Posted 15 April, 2012 Was in a bar, bollocking a Brighton supporting friend of mine today about their capitulation v the Hammers when an old lad, whom I've known for years, stumbled into the conversation and announced that he had been a Saints fan all his life (born in Bournemouth) ! I had no idea that he had even the slightest interest in football but he went on to regale us with stories going back to the fifties ! Funny old game, thank feck he wasn't a Skate !!
