Just got back from a job in Colden Common. On the way down Church Lane, where the roadworks are, my mate in the van saw a Saints flag in someones front garden....:)........flying at half-mast. :scared::scared: I realise it might well be Titanic-related, but ffs.

Anyone else seen/heard/done/thought of anything that might be considered as an omen for the run-in?

I was waiting for a lift in West Quay yesterday and a women stood next to me dressed in a red jacket and skirt and a white blouse. We both got into the lift. The lift was GOING UP. Surely this is a sign?

Some of the soppy sods on this forum could have been a bad omen for Saints most of the season...

Luckily the players have ignored them and will get us to the top league ready for next season..

(with the help of my lucky stars)

I saw it when I looked up in the sky/stars last night and asked the question and each time the stars twinkled...

Not sure if that was an omen or the Cider effecting my eyesight..

But it gave me the answer I wanted...

3 wins and promotion for the mighty Saints...:D

I drive past that house everyday...his flags make me chuckle.

During the world cup when England got knocked out it was at half mast. Then he was supporting Argentina. When they lost it was at half mast. When Spain eventually won he had their flag.

I'm sure in a couple of weeks the Saints flag will be back up flying high and proud. Think he has too much time on his hands if anything and does it for the comedy factor..

Last match of season is on 28 th

Which is my 28th wedding anniversary

Which will also start our 28th year in top division.

Definitely the best omen so far.

Pray tell me why?

because we were there before the last 27 year stretch, we've had far more than 28 years in total in the top flight.

66-73 and 77-2004 (in season terms) = more than 28 years

I just took my dog out and he flushed out a pheasant a duck and three partridges. I deduce that means win lose win.

Edit FFS the duck actually came before the pheasant so it's lose win win.

This place is gonna go into meltdown if i'm correct and we lose on Tuesday, but in the end those who stay calm won't look like tits WHEN WE GO UP.

When I went to Saints games in League One, I was good luck. This season on my visits to SMS, I've been bad luck. I WAS going to the Coventry game, but a friend's birthday has got in the way, ergo Saints will win that. So just one win against the Boro's to go...

After the West Ham game on Saturday there was a horse called "Up the Hammers" or something along those lines. I bet it on and it finished 3rd!!!! Then a horse in Grand National with Saint in it came first! COYS

I heard Kraftwerk record 'The Model' on the radio the other day.

This was played at half time at Middlesboro' in 1982, we beat them and went top of the league that day.

(I know because I was there - as Max Boyce used to say).

Just heard on the radio Bing Crosby singing 'accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative'. Made me think of Nigel Adkins. Control the controllables, 5 positives etc. (OK, so I made it up)

I was reading a forum where someone posted about omens in a vain attempt to make sense of the stress and apprehension of the season finale - I think that's an omen that it's going to be close and that I'm feeling the pressure

Come on Wigan!!

If they beat the gunners tonight, the 5 live tater just said they will be the first team to beat man u and arse in back to back prem games since the mighty Saints in 2001.

Drought has now been officially declared. Last time there was an official drought was in 1976 when we won the cup. First official drought since then = Saints must win promotion or even the league. HTH

Wigan are a negative for me, voted into the Football League at the expense of Southport starting life in Division 4 as we set off on a 27 year spell in the Top Division.

When we got relegated from, they were promoted into the Premiership "in our place". Until recently we looked like we would waving politely to each other as we went in opposite directions at the end of the season: which would be apt symmetry.:?

Anyway we should be taking no notice of all this Mumbo Jumbo........... Cr@p on TV: pure myth

On The News there was an article about droughts in Uk .... and this year's is the worst since a certain 1976 - which was the last time we picked up a Proper piece of Silverware.

So not only are we going to get promoted, Reading are going to implode and we are going up as Champions FFS.

Also that shower of ****e down the road were relegated from the 2nd tier of English Football in 76.

i just peeled an apple top to bottom in one go without breaking the peel, promotion is nailed on now.

Only if you throw the intact peel backwards over your head and it falls into a form that can be interpreted as 0-3 or something like that.I'm sure there's a superstitious thingy with intact apple peelings. You know like if a black cat crosses the road in front of you you're probably going to get hit by a coal truck or something.

I just had a no wiper! I never get that lucky! Usually it's a real mess down there afterwards, to the point that sometimes I have to shower. That's got to be a good omen!
