Badger Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 I don't think I have missed any releases on this, but was is the latest on his injury, and how long is he expected to be out ?
S-Clarke Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 At a guess we won't see him again this season, but the club won't ever release this information.

S-Clarke Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 Exactly what I was fearing. The 'silence' on this does not bode well. It was the same with Lee, it had to come out in the Japanese media before we knew about i.
Matthew Le God Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 The 'silence' on this does not bode well. Why? Adkins releases very little in the way of injury information good or bad about most players in order to keep the opposition guessing. A very sensible strategy tbh, and one I thought you might have noticed given he has been in charge a long time now.

But the club were quick to try and dispel rumours re RL's potential abscence for any prolonged period after Blackpool.
Matthew Le God Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 Yes, to a point. But the club were quick to try and dispel rumours re RL's potential abscence for any prolonged period after Blackpool. Only because someone in the media asked if he had an operation, which wasn't true. Who asked Adkins about Schneiderlin? Adkins can't answer questions if he isn't asked them. S-Clarke Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 This is taken from another forum, which is a bit of a boost. Got there so early last night that i managed to catch Barnard and Schneiderlin signing autographs outside. I asked Morgan how his knee was and how long he'd be out for, he replied with "a couple of days ish".

The "days" of the season in Ligue 1 are numbered 1 to 38, a day is a round of matches.

beatlesaint Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 I can understand why they dont want to reveal the extent of players injuries but its so frustrating. Take Connolly for example. Injured his knee in a collision against Barnsley and hasnt been heard of since.....so it was obviously more than just a knock.
Saint Garrett Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 I do think we are missing Connolly's link up play as well. When he plays, we seem to get the best out of Adam. I'd be very surprised if we see Morgan again this season, although I hope we do because he is a class act. Maybe a cameo appearance vs Coventry, but I'm not expecting much. We saw Morgan walking away from the ground last night (we couldn't believe it either!!) and my nephew called out to him, and he turned around. My nephew then asked him how his injury was and when he'd be back playing, he answered "should be nect week" and gave us a thumbs up.

S-Clarke Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 With Morgan we'd have won last night... IMHO Easy to say that, but he wouldn't have put any of the chances away. We played well enough but weren't clinical enough, Morgan wouldn't have changed that. We do miss the composure he gives us though, I'll give you that, but I don't think he'd have made much of a difference to the game yesterday if Reading were intent on being that jammy. He wouldn't have been caught in possession for the second goal, he's just much better than Hammond, and I do like Hammond but his touch in tight situations is poor! Adkins releases very little in the way of injury information good or bad about most players in order to keep the opposition guessing. A very sensible strategy tbh, and one I thought you might have noticed given he has been in charge a long time now. ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! In an age when teams study each other endlessly before a game, giving out info. about form and fitness is the same as giving the opposition your team sheet two days before the game. If so - and so isn't playing ..then they'll use this formation..play that style ..etc. Someone wrote that NA doesn't have a plan B, but there is a strategy and he does change the shape around, often successfully during the game. I think the recent Lambert revelation (he's not been operated)...was so far from the truth that it had to be denied ASAP..and NA did so. Equally ...NOT talking about the T-Lee injury situation..also served its purpose...leaving opponents who had already seen him play guessing.. IF he might be selected ..at a time when Sharp was still on the bench.

obelisk Posted 15 April, 2012 Share Posted 15 April, 2012 ........not unless he scored a couple of goals, we wouldn't have.Perhaps he wouldn't have been caught fannying around with the ball inside his own half just before Reading broke away for their 2nd. Or if he had he'd have chopped his opponent down and taken a yellow for the team. Possibly!
Window Cleaner Posted 15 April, 2012 Share Posted 15 April, 2012 ........not unless he scored a couple of goals, we wouldn't have. You just don't see the value of this player do you. It's what make Saint's tick because he has the ability to create time and space. If we don't go up I'll be content for him when he moves on.Saint's most sought after player according to someone who knows him.Not that most of you will believe that of course. Sour Mash Posted 15 April, 2012 Share Posted 15 April, 2012 Surprisingly we haven't missed him anywhere near as much as I'd expected. Hammond and Cork have both been very good in the last two games.

SaintBobby Posted 15 April, 2012 Share Posted 15 April, 2012 I see the logic of being hush-hush on injuries. although it is frustrating for fans. Does any other club practice a similar strategy?
Window Cleaner Posted 15 April, 2012 Share Posted 15 April, 2012 Cork was the spectator for that goal. Whether Morgan would have picked up ALF is anybody's guess. Morgan is by far faster than Cork and much stronger nowadays.Cork gets brushed off a bit easily sometimes. Also gets into the right position more often than not, still not the complete finished article but then again he is the "baby" of the side.Doubt if we'll hang on to him if we don't go up,although he desperately wants to stay with us but in the PL. Window Cleaner Posted 15 April, 2012 Share Posted 15 April, 2012 Reading are exactly the same. It's working well for them tbf. Not really, before their game at Brighton it was common knowledge that Tabb,Leigertwood and Hal RK were out,not to mention Karacan who was known to be having a nose job that day.You wouldn't find a Saints player driving round the town after the team bus had gone or tweeting that he was definitely out,as was Reading's case. Window Cleaner Posted 15 April, 2012 Share Posted 15 April, 2012 Silver lining on the cloud ? If we get in the playoffs would we see Morgan and Tadanari Lee ? Think we might see Morgan before that, Boro probably but Tad is probably out until next season given the nature of his injury. The play offs are just a few days after the last regular match so won't be much difference timewise.
