Pitch invasion or no pitch invasion?

If the title goes down to the last day, when does the trophy get presented? Will they have it on standby halfway between Birmingham and Southampton with a 'copter ready to fly it to the winners?

I think they'll have a replica at each ground, correct me if I'm wrong though. Then the winner gets presented with the replica and gets the main thing later on.

Sounds fair enough. I remember the SPL title going to the last day with the trophy being flown to the ground of the winners a few years back.

Wouldnt surprise me if they have a copy at either ground?

From memory I think they send the actual trophy to the club that's been leading the way and a replica goes to the other side that could win it.

Why are we worried about this?

So many learned posters have told us we are going to be in the playoffs seems a bit daft running on the pitch when there will be another match to go.

But no, they cannot be wrong they called us idiots for disagreeing with them so it will happen this way

One of my favourite memories of playing in League 1 was the last 20 seconds of it. I was sat near the front of the Kingsland, just right of centre. Deep into injury time, I could see masses of fans gathered at the 4 corners of the pitch and Walsall had a goal kick. As the goalie is possitioning the ball the lino right in front of me starts sprinting accross to the pitch towards the tunnel. 3 seconds later the goalie takes the kick, the ref blows up and the entire Walsall bench and their coachs charge onto the pitch, only to be swamped by a tidal wave of Saints fans. I ended up on the pitch eventually too, it was a fantastic day to be a Saints fan. :D

I think we should chant "on the pitch on the pitch on the pitch" and then boo the handful of supporters who made it, like we did against Southend.

Yes I agree. A chant of "wan*ers" always goes down well too.

Let's hope we don't get a points deduction.

To be honest most of the idiots who rubn on the pitch at the seasons end only do it

just to be abel to say "look at me i`m on the pitch" rather than in celebration....

Much prefer all to stay in stands so we can all get to see and enjoy the players doing the lap of honour...

20,000/25,000 on the pitch last year.

The players singing along with the fans.

Yeah the players hated that

At any time during the game? Absolutely no.

I am still bitterly angry that the consequence of the idiots celebrating Saints goal against skates on the pitch was that additional extra time was added during which Portsmouth equalised 30 seconds before the final whistle. And so we missed out on two precious points . If we fail to be promoted by one or two points I will hold those idiots responsible, and I hope they sleep badly for the rest of their lives.

After the match when we are promoted? Try and stop me!

So ffs don't invade the pitch during the Coventry match because the same could happen again. Especially since we seem to be so vulnerable during the closing minutes lately.

Of course they won't learn. They are so mindless that they'll do it again. And West Ham will pip us to automatic promotion by one goal.

Last year's one against Walsall kinda felt false as everyone knew we were already up, whereas it's looking likely that this year that we may well need a result on the final day to win promotion - so no anti-climax and pure joy!

It's inevitable really, so there's no point stopping it.

The added time was added on because we scored. There was no extra time added because fans were on the pitch.

I thought we clinched v Walsall. No?

Officially we did yes, but the goal difference swing was so massive that it was essentially wrapped up at Plymouth, hence the non-totally-bonkers invasion v Walsall which was more a party atmosphere.

Only by 19 goals in the end though, it wouldn't have been impossible for them to have won 8/9-0 and us to have lost 0-8/9 on the final day. Surely, if players have to be;leive that then we fans do too, no? In fact us merely losing and them winning would have meant a maximum 15 point gap to overhaul.
