The Saturday Afternoon Fixtures Fred

Lighthouse

Recommended Posts

Lots of ifs and buts this afternoon. Obviously the big one is going on at Upton Park, let's hope the Hammers form continues for a couple more games. Here are the fixtures and who I think we want to win each one (in bold).

Barnsley vs Cardiff - To try and cut Boro adrift of 6th place by the time we go there, so they have nothing to play for.

Brum vs Bristol City - Want Brum's playoff spot not being secure when Reading come to town on the last day (unlikely I know). Would all but send Pompey down.

Burnley vs Coventry - Want Coventry down by the last day.

Derby vs Boro - Same reason as Cardiff game.

Donny vs Pompey - Well obviously

Leeds vs Posh - Would help if Posh were mathematically safe on Tuesday. They're all but there, 9 point clear of drop zone.

Millwall vs Leicester - Need Leicester in the playoff hunt when Wham go to the Walkers.

Forest vs Blackpool - Again, same as Cardiff game. Also Forest not safe yet, want to keep it that way until they've played Reading.

Watford vs Hull - Hull go to Wham on the last day. If they were still in the playoff hunt, that would be good. Would also push them above Boro

West Ham vs Brighton - Obviously.

Then there's Ipswich away to Palace, which we just plain don't give a sh*t about. :)

Come on you Seaguls!!!

Good to see Surman score today. I always find it odd when people say they wouldn't take him back...but he could easily be the 10+ goal a season CM that we so badly want.

Norwich looked painfully short today though, totally pummeled today. Ryan Bennett looked awful

Could this be an epic afternoon, or will WHU finally turn up at home?

They need to win though, or it's all over. Lots and lots of pressure on them and I bet they'll be feeling it.

they will win...by 3 or 4 IMO

and the wet fannies will be shivering wrecks about out goal difference and how we should have signed 5 more players

I get the impression that Norwich and Swansea have been found out somewhat. I think they could both be battling the drop next season

It was only last monday that Norwich won 2-1 away to Spurs, harsh on them. Swansea however have lost 4 on the bounce I think, could possibly be they got a bit too comfortable.

Probably right!

Whatever happens today it's still comfortably in our hands. What a great position we are in to be able to lose a game at this stage, and still (potentially) be 3 points clear.

Could turn in to a bit of disaster this weekend. Grrrr.

Always expected WHU to win this easily, if we lost last night it was always going to let WHU back into it. We just need to do the business at Posh, we're still well in the driving seat whatever happens today so let's not take this result to heart.
