Lallana final ball

When was the last time he set a goal up?

How many times has he scored the winner?

He is a cracking player but compare his talent to his shooting, it is criminal

Well we certainly needed him against Barnsley, got our 2 goals that day. Still think he's another of these players who just need a couple of better players around him to really move up another gear. He's often a bit isolated and just gets dragged down by the number of opposition players around him.

Has to be one of the most stupid threads ever, some so-called Saints fans "debating" if Lallana is any good. How fecking ridiculous can you get. Best player in the Championship bar none, and most passionate Saints player out there and still some Mongs can't see it. Still what do you expect from TDD and Roger, their posts are just patently ridiculous.

Toys out of the pram moment.

Some people have the opinion that he is not yet the finished article.

F**king deal with it.

No-one is saying he isn't any good! It's probably because he is such a class player that things like his final ball can be frustrating - surely worth discussion on a football message board?

I still think he's better suited to playing with a left-back that overlaps, than a "Danny Fox" type player.

Of course, gives him an extra out ball and can't fail to take a bit of pressure off of him. Don't like the role Fox plays at all, get's far enough forward to embarass his defence often enough but not far enough forward to really make his balls into the box a permanent danger. That can only be how the manager plans it though. It would seem to me that Fox's half chalk/half cheese role must be really easy for the opposition to detect and negate whereas when a wide player really gets forward we are pretty unstoppable. As when Tad goes down that side or Morgan in the build up for the first goal against Millwall. The players must have all the ability they need to do it at this level, can only be the fact that it's planned not to happen that way that stops it happening more often.

The thing that makes a good player great is the desire to improve and if one is to improve then he has to acknowledge and accept his weaknesses. As a club, Southampton are striving to be better in everything that we do. We're premier league ready.

I feel that lallana can get better and I hope he does. Sometimes being better is just about being more consistent. Producing the goods 8 or 9 games out of 10.

The idea that fans cannot criticise, or rather, comment on what they think a players' weakness is or how they could do better baffles me. Football is all about opinions. One manager may see something in a player another one does not. We're no different.

I think adam is very passionate and loves the club and has been loyal. When on song is a joy to watch like vs barnsley and at west ham away. However, he doesnt score enough and his final ball isnt good enough. What winds me up is when people say that hes the best player in the league and as good as lambert. That is complete rubbish, look at the stats. I think he could be a great player but not at mo.

Mate, what is it with you and Lambert? You're more protective than pinksaint and barny's little fanclub.

Because I think its a bit ungrateful for fans to say lallana is the best player in the league when rickie has scored 31 goals on top of opta index and made more than anyone else too. Im not apologising for sticking up for what looks like a genuine soton legend.

I don't even believe that Lambert is the best player in the Championship at this moment, I'd go for either Vaz Te or Roberts.

Signing Vaz Te is probably one of the best things BFS has done at West Ham

Lallana is a very frustrating player to watch.

There are so many times when he does too much with the ball and loses it or misses a chance to shoot/cross.

So many of our fans consider him as the best player in the League but I don't agree, he's a good player but I'd have Whittingham and Snodgrass ahead of him.

what difference does that make to my personal opinion ?

It doesnt mate, ur right footy is a game of opinions. I just think hes brilliant and helps my football club more than anyone else at the mo. A little bit similar to the way le tiss did. Im not saying he is anywhere near as good as matty but in terms of importance hes right up there with him.

You need to watch more of the game rather than trailing after Ricky like a puppy. Ricky has been our best player of late and our player of the season but we have committed a lot in other players to achieve that end. When others are not doing their job or we are slightly off form, Ricky finds it difficult to influence a game. When someone mentions the likes of Vaz Te it's because they can make something from the game without relying on others. Lallana has been the player to be able to force Saints to another level, just not since his injuries for some reason.

As good as Ricky is and as much as I want him in the team, we desperately need someone who can make or score a goal from nothing. Ricky did it against Palace with his second goal but previous to that was against Huddersfield in League 1. My big issue with Ricky is when things are not going so well and he will retreat into the midfield / wing to find space and easier pickings. That does work and makes things easier for Ricky but not for the team because most of the time it is Ricky that needs to be on the end of that cross or pass. You can win all the flick ons going in midfield but if nothing comes from them I can't see where praise for that alone is coming from.

I just think u are wrong. Rickie has created more goals than any other player and as Matty says probably has the best passing range in the team too.

Not sure I agree s-Clarke. He's had a lot of poor performances this season IMO. Lamberts the player they are scared of trust me.hes not being given so much time on ball and his extra touches and lack of final ball are being shown up. Good player but just not sure if he can make it in prem.

On the contrary - I think that it is in the premiership that you will see him at his best. As usual it takes one - I was going to say bad performance, except it wasn't - disappointing result for people to start seeking scapegoats.
