Premier League ?? We ARE having a laugh

Can anybody HONESTLY say that we would hold our own in the Premier League ?? If so, I suggest you go to Specsavers

Our performance against Reading certainly highlighted the differences.

Reading were a thoroughly PROFFESSIONAL unit, doing a very proffessional job

Saints ??? all we could muster was long balls into the box, easily dealt with by the Reading defence

Not only that, our defending was abysmal

What has happened to the Saints team that, earlier in the season, by playing football on the ground, were winning matches easily ??

Who sends the team out on the park ??

Who instructs the team as to how to play ??

I know many will say "well we are still second", but do you REALLY think that we will end up in the Top Two ???

Chewing Gum Sam must be laughing his Boll*cks off right now

Adkins has blown it IMHO, he was miles ahead not too long ago

You're going to feel like a right tw*t in the morning. If you don't feel like one now, of course.

Reading took their chances. We didn't, and if you didn't notice, we had a lot more of the ball and had a lot more chances. A real sign of an unprofessional team isn't it.

Go away and calm down.

FWIW I don't care if we go up and come straight back down again, I just want to go up to give us a shot at it. Coming back down, at least we'd have the bonus of parachute payments. We're not ready to play in the Premier League. We haven't got the players to last a season at that level. Thank God for the transfer window. Let's just go up. Look at West Ham's fixtures - I did, and it made me feel a bit better about tonight's result.

I thought we'd lose it after we lost away at Bristol City.

I thought we'd lose it after we lost at home to Bristol City.

I thought we'd lose it after we lost away at Brighton.

I thought we'd lose it after we lost at home to Leicester.

Reading beat us tonight, but we won't lose it now.

Can people just calm the f*ck down and not post things in the heat of defeat?

We will need 5/6 new signings if we go up. Everybody knows that. Reading took their chances tonight and pounced on 3 mistakes we made.

I doubt Allardyce is laughing his balls off, pressure is on them to go and win tomorrow. 2 wins out of 3 and we're up.

Take a deep breath, accept that we lost to a good team and get behind the team from now on.

All them years fighting till the very end in the 90s. Staying up by 1 goal etc

Now we have a bunch of wet fuking fannies giving it the big one

The majority of our fans just haven't got the stomach. I was sat next to someone who muttered the words ''Pointless even bothering for the next 3 matches, we're not going up. Fiar play west ham" - that was after we went 1-0 down on 20mins.

If our players were as weedy as them we'd be bottom, cast adrift.

My vote for dickhead of the season.

What? I thought I'd got that one sewn up. :-(

I've not got a clue what will happen if we do go up. That depends on what the board do with finances etc. However, as I've been saying for weeks, my gut feeling is that we'll **** this up in spectacular fashion. That doesn't mean I don't want us to go up - I'd love nothing more. But I've seen us make a mess of so many things in the past that it's made me extremely pessimistic.

I really thought we'd get a result tonight, so once again I find myself swamped in disappointment and really not looking forward to the remaining fixtures. Why can't we just get the job done? We always seem to go into the last few games hoping that other teams slip up etc? It's no fun at all.

Our fans used to be full of fight and belief.

I remember being convinced every year we would stay up. The dell was full of belief

I think that was what was commonly termed "the spirit of Southampton".

This. Personally I thought we were terrifically unlucky tonight. I think the ref had a complete mare. On another day we would have been 3 up at half time. They are the luckiest side I have seen.

Can we come up with another term? I rather like a nice wet fanny.......I'm not particularly fond of the OP though who could probably do with a couple of hours with a nice wet fanny to calm himself down....
