to be fair your predictions arent worth considering. if you totted up the points you had predicted every gane this season we would have been relegated by xmas.

I predict that if we do f/ck it up alpine saint will be in his element and will go into overdrive with his dull and depressing diatribe. I also predict that if we pull this off he'll crawl back under his rock.

You're joking aren't you? Sure, the short term disappointment of being promoted will be crushing for him, but within days he'll be revelling in threads about how there is really no money and we are planning for relegation because it's already July 3rd and we haven't signed Ronaldo yet.

Im poo ing myself here. But have to agree Peterborough are a bit rubbish.

The only thing that makes me have any doubt about winning at Peterborough is that they suddenly turned up the wick and beat Reading 3-1,in fact they're the only side to beat Reading since about the 4th century BC.Perhaps they just caught them on a bad day.

A mate of mine (posh fan) was at the Forest game and said that Forest murdered them for the whole 90 minutes. This means nothing because that was then and teams can be rubbish one game and transformed the next, but what it demonstrates is what we need to do. Basically throw caution to the wind because they don't like it up em.

That pretty much sums them up last season too. You only have to look at the number of goals they let in. Difference this year is that they are playing against better defences and haven't got CMS.

They'll also be putting out a makeshift defence as they're without Gabriel Zakuani, in the running for their player of the season I believe.

think he's been struggling with a broken toe for a while now, just like Fonte was around Christmas before eventually missing a few games. I see that Zakuani went off early in the second half yesterday.

Trouble with Posh is that they have a few of those dangerous occasionally players that are a bit unpredictable like Boyd and Tomlin.

FFS, the OS is now saying that an extra 590 seated tickets are available. What a shambles.

Do you think they'd do a swap with a ticket in the home seated area?

Ring the p'boro TO and make up some sob story that you can't go, they might refund it if you give it to them on the day

Come on the terrace Dune...it's only £20 and I'd not mind betting they'll be selling on the gate like they did last year...if you're short I'll sub you :-)

Nah, I've got work the next morning so won't be drinking so would prefer a decent view of the game.

So? Surely you'd rather be in with our own fans for such an important game? I don't understand that at all.

Yeh in the seated area, if not in the posh seated area. I've done the London road terrace, glebe road terrace (now the side family stand) and moyes end terrace on many ocassions and you won't get a worse view of a match in English football than from behind the goals. That is why I chose the home side stand because we had sold out in the away seated area - until another 590 became available, which is why i'll try and get a ticket in the away seated area and try and flog the home one before the game by hanging round outside the ticket office and discretely asking if anyone wants it cheap.

Ive just decided to cheer up and be positive after a grumpy couple of days, the football coupled with man flu.

Pressure is telling, possibly. Therefore 2 games away from St Marys may just work in our favour, home teams will come to us leaving gaps for us to exploit. A win Tuesday, a win Saturday and we can begin to believe. Again!

really dont think west ham will drop points against leicester, went to see them vs millwall yesterday and they were dire ..

Don't write that game off, Leicester's problem this season has been under-performing against the bad teams

4th best against top half sides

17th best against bottom half sides

Really looking forward to this game.

I just want to get it over with, I've had one of those dead days today and this is all I've been able to think about. From being quite relaxed about it all, the goal difference swing has turned me a little nervous...! As that advantage no longer exists.

I'm looking forward to this game

I've got a good feeling for Tuesday night

Let's hope it's as good as our last Tuesday night game, the perfect set of results. West Ham dropping points, Reading dropping points and us doing a clinical job on a very handy team at this level.

Looking back at it though, after going 5 points clear of WHU and 7 points clear of Reading that night (with +14/15 on our GD) we really shouldn't have let them back into it as we have. Never mind, we'll still do the job.

Me too. Reading is gone. Three games left..treat it like a mini league...2 wins should do it...all we can do now is get behind the lads and sing them through. Bumped into de Ridder and Schneiderlin in town a few days before the Pompey game and got chatting...they seemed very relaxed and were really nice to my nine year old son...he asked them not to leave it to the last game...not sure he'll get his wish :scared: Can't wait till Tuesday...COYR.

Your positivity is an inspiration to us all mate. Are you driving or getting the train? If you're getting the train there are several decent pubs en route through the city centre and the city centre is only a 15-20 minute walk from the ground. There is one decent put in the corner of the cathedral square near Mac Donalds called the Grapevine. If you're coming from the station cross the dual carriageway on the glass bridge and go into the queensgate centre exiting where Mac Donalds is and do a right and it's in front of you.

If it helps anybody, the sportsclubstats website (cited by others on the forum) currently has us as 87.4% likely to be promoted automatically, with WHU at 39.3%....

83% we will finish in position 1 or 2.

West Ham are at 19%.

Better than 4 out of 5 we should go up. The stats have us more likely to be champions than not go up automatically.

Need to win this one to restore confidence - of players and fans alike!

Wham's goalfest means we may need to get 7 points (2 wins and a draw) to be certain. I can't see them dropping points now they are focused and going for it.

But hey, listen, control the controllables, play in the here and now. :p (See Nige, I do listen to you)

One win in the last 4 is not only not promotion form, it is relegation form. Coventry and Portsmouth both have one win in the last 4. We need to win at Peterborough to show that we deserve to go up, although even then needing a draw and a win from the last two games doesn't make promotion certain.

I hope Adkins is talking more forcibly at training than he does in public just in case there are players in this team who think that by going up they might lose their job. It should be made clear that if we don't go up there will be some major changes so that missing out will not be comfortable for the 'fantastic' players in this 'hard-working' squad.

Wrong... 7 points would guarantee promotion. We would have 1 more point than WHU

I suppose it would be too much to have expected Saints to have promotion wrapped up by now even given the early season form. Oh well, onward we go and I'm trying to remain relaxed about it all but it's likely the churning will begin once again as tomorrow moves towards evening.

Looking positively, I think I'd prefer to be facing a dodgy looking Peterboro at their place rather than popping over to Bristol City - and Reading are due a screw up some time. A win for Saints and an admittedly unlikely defeat for the Royals will have us back on top.

If I allow any negative thoughts of a defeat to enter my head then the worst that can happen is that we'll be 3rd on goal difference with a couple of games left and West Ham playing after Saints Saturday efforts are shown to all on TV. Ok that's quite a grim thought but I'll deal with it if it happens.

Come to think of it, there's actually quite an advantage to WHU in kicking off their penultimate game 2 days after Saints. Unless, of course, Saints manage to bag 6 points this week - something that IS within the realms of possibility.

there is more twists to appear yet. its amazing come 9.40 tues night we could be on the brink of promotion with only 1 point needed to secure it or it could be taken out of our hands should we lose, west ham win and there GD becomes better than ours.

i am adamant we can do this this as long as we play like we did against reading albeit with out the individual errors.

keep same team that started against reading. fonte cant play any worse. although chaplow was crap, as a team we was less of a threat when he went of. fox is due a set piece assist as well. dont think morgan will make tomorrow but hopefully saturday.

Reading will win there 2 games this week and draw v Birmingham

West Ham will win their last 3

We need 7 points to go up. A win v Posh is a MUST! otherwise some serious pressure is placed upon us and it's clear that we aren't coping well with the pressure at the moment
