Sour Mash Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 How about the players like Fonte, Fox and Lallana doing the same ? Well we as fans have no control over that do we? But what we do have control over is what we as supporters do. We can set the mood and atmosphere. Pack London Road on Tuesday and absolutely rock the place for 90+minutes regardless of how the game is going. Keep the faith. We will do it. Wiggles31 Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 This is game is very similar to the Palace game. A team with nil to play for, using youngsters etc (like Palace) and in terrible form and letting in goals for fun. We need to play exactly how we have in the last two games (minus the suicidal passes ala Reading). Leeds had 16 shots, 10 on target so we really are playing a poor team. We need to watch out for Barnett and Taylor who are their two danger men. Mark them out and we should be ok. But especially Barnett we need to watch out for who is a similar styled player to Jason Roberts. We win this and promotion is within touching distance. Lets not forget the pressure is significantly more on Wham who have a tougher game at Bristol City (as we experienced and who also held out for a 0 - 0 draw at Upton). We play like we did against Reading and we'll get maximum points. Lets get behind the team on Tuesday!! COYR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally just some last facts to hopefully raise some positivity: - we were under more pressure from Huddersfield last season and held out for promotion - we always respond well to defeat under Adkins - were still 3 points clear and have a slightly better GD - we have been in the top two all frickin season and there is only 3 games left

You have it all spot on there. People are forgetting last season already, it was so much tighter than it is now but we got over the line by winning at places you never expected us to. Saints Warrior Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 Just ordered my Ticket and Coach for Peterborough. I agree this is like a Palce game, a possible tough one but also a possible 3 points if Saints play their game and stick a few chances away. Long trip so lots of time to go over the stats before we get there and lots of time to do the same on way back when we win!...hopfully. Lets hope the players have not had a knock back from the reading game.
chip Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 What's with all the doom and gloom, we are 3pts ahead of wham, we can still lose a game they can't afford any slip ups. Bristol city won't be easy knowing a win with guarantee safety for them and Leicester with ex saints boss won't roll over. I'd rather have the points than be in west hams position. They could still win all there remaining games and still not go up....so UNTIL such time we ly in 3rd I will still believe and remain positive after all we outplayed reading but were just not as clynical. Together as one in what has been a fantastic season already

Bailey Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 The bed wetters on here are most probably the same people that were throwing their dummies out the pram after our 3-0 defeat at the hands of Blackpool, and the same people that were then saying we're as good as promoted after the Palace victory. I've had enough of the negativity on here. Look at the league from an objective point of view. We're 3 points clear of 3rd, with 3 games to go. We need to win 2 to guarantee promotion. Thankfully, I have every confidence that Nigel and the team won't get caught up in the heat of the moment, they'll look at the bigger picture, stay calm, collected and get the job done on Tuesday. People need to seriously get some perspective. It's not all doom and gloom, and you know what, I bet you now that the people who are slating the team for 'blowing it' will be on here come 10pm Tuesday saying how fantastic the boys were after beating Posh. This Saints side has earned our backing, our faith and our support. Get behind the lads! We're in a fantastic position. Flip today's results into a positive. Maybe it will serve as a timely reminded that we cannot afford to slip up, but it's currently STILL IN OUR HANDS. Let's do this! Keep the faith, support the lads and COME ON YOU ****ING REDS! Ps. Apologies for the motivational, happy-clappy rant, but the negativity on here is overwhelming.
Bailey Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 And you know what, even if the unthinkable happens and we lost on Tuesday, IT'S STILL IN OUR OWN HANDS! Granted, we would have made it hard for ourselves, but it's by no means out the question that we could beat Boro and Cov. Who knows, we may even win all 3 and win the league still! KEEP THE FAITH! Rant over.

alpine_saint Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 If it comes to that - I don't fancy us at all to be honest. We are a footballing side (as we showed yesterday) but when that fails we don't have the toughness to force a result. Pretty football is not whats needed in the playoffs. It's sh it or bust now - we either do it or bottle it and find ourselves in this league for some years to come. This. We wont get throught the playoffs if we end up 3rd. Dr Who? Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 Win Tuesday and I think we will go up! I think I might also have to get my arse up to Middlesborough. I have the terrible fear that, that late goal against the skates we could be reminded about time and time again. If you thought we had it all tied up a few weeks ago, then more fool you. It was never going to be straight forward. There were going to be twists and turns and there still will be. and even after those twists and turns we sit in pole position for the prize. Where did I say we had it all tied up ? Jesus, what is with the standard of reading on here ? I said "under control" meaning the job wasnt done but what was needed was clear and not complex to prepare for. This team, imo, have been having major focus issues the last couple of weeks. I think they have been thinking its all tied up. As for your faith comment, no way. Saints have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory far too many times in my lifetime for that.
