S-Clarke Posted 13 April, 2012 Share Posted 13 April, 2012 If we win this then we're right back in the driving seat. I expect WHU to win against Brighton and to easily win against Bristol City. If we win on tuesday we're almost there and we take it to the last day, or even better...we can do it @ Boro. That would be a special day.

Micky Posted 13 April, 2012 Share Posted 13 April, 2012 Need a big big performance. Anything other than 3 points and I can see West Ham capitilising, I know they havn't put 4 wins togeather all season - but you just know that they could. Win this one - we are there. Lazlo78 Posted 13 April, 2012 Share Posted 13 April, 2012 Only two changes: Frazer for Butterfield and Guly for Chappers. No feck it, Chappers will always deliver against Fergie Zero, so keep him. And Butterfield has done well too, but maybe Frazer offers a little more power...
SNSUN Posted 13 April, 2012 Share Posted 13 April, 2012 Win or bust? No. But this is the easier of our three fixtures IMO, depending on where Coventry are when we play them. We must win on Tuesday. 3 wins could be enough to win us the title still, if Reading slip up at Brum in the final game of the season, but right now our concentration should be on promotion. SaintBobby Posted 13 April, 2012 Share Posted 13 April, 2012 I reckon the last 3 games are all much of a muchness. We're prob slight favourites for the two away games. Have to hope Coventry are either down or safe on the 28th. Wouldn't say Posh is strictly a must win, but heck the nerves will really set in if we blow it. St Lej Posted 13 April, 2012 Share Posted 13 April, 2012 Let's hope NA can lift the boys over the weekend, we seem to bounce back well after defeats but tonight will be hard to swallow. Nexstar Posted 13 April, 2012 Share Posted 13 April, 2012 Seemed odd to me that we had 3 defenders on the bench tonight and didn't swap one of those for Bart. Not sure what's happened to Puncheon, I thought of him as a source of energy and pace when we need it most. Maybe bring Richardson back, but Butterfield's delivery into the box can be deadly. Legod Third Coming Posted 13 April, 2012 Share Posted 13 April, 2012 Thought Chaplow was poor today and Frazer has been Very good this season, maybe not your choice but hardly 'bonkers'. Thought Chaplow was poor? Ok, a couple of times he might have shot rather than look to pass, but we were all over them while he was on the pitch, before and after their goal. He has energy and drive - De Ridder did ok too. But bringing in Puncheon? Why, have we been lacking a player who promises loads but actually delivers feck all???!!! Ziggy Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 Just arrived back from a very miserable journey home. We should have won that comfortably. Against a less organised defensive unit we would have got a hatful. Looking forward to the trip on Tuesday - if we play like that again then we will win. Keep the faith! Saintandy666 Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 Yes, we need Richardson back. Butterfield consistantly got himself in the position for the ball, but couldn't put the ball in with the accuracy that Richardson has. We missed that. Kingsbridge Saint Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 Same team for this one. There are players who will be extra motivated after personal errors against Reading. Please don't put us through another 4-4, I don't think I can take it. A lot of the context for this game will be clearer after West Ham v Brighton. But I think a win would be best.... Window Cleaner Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 Chaplow really wasn't that bad at all tonight. Hope he starts. Got my ticket today! Hopefully it'll be worth it. On what do you base that statement? he cannot control the ball correctly in one movement, it slows everything down, he cannot tackle correctly thus putting himself under pressure just a few minutes into the game. If you had the advantage of the close ups of the TV you'd see what i mean, every time a ball came in he seemed to be sort of holding back instead of going for it positively, it's what happens when you've already got a card and your direct opponent has a bit of pace and a bit of guile. S-Clarke Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 There's another twist in this, I can feel it. I've woken up with the same feeling....as much as I think the title is gone, who saw Bristol City coming to our place and winning? If Reading think it's done and drop off a couple of % then they can get caught, albeit it's a very long shot.

I will feel compelled to spend more of the tax payers money and get myself to London Rd on Tuesday If they lose today then we can really start planning for the premier league, as it will be pretty much all over. As much as I'd love that to happen I can't see it because Brighton can't score, they create chances and keep the ball - but they can't seem to score enough. If WHU play like they did in the 2nd half against Brum they will pummel them it pains me to say.

West End Saint Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 We all knew there would be twists & turns fair play to Reading they have momentum & are in blistering form it was a great game between 2 very good sides if we attack like we did for large parts of the game V Reading we should win this game. We have been quality this season & have bounced back from a defeat we need to do it again at London Road there are no easy games I think the lads will go into this game with some grit & dertimination COYS

You are assuming that WH will win 4 in a row (possible, nothing more) and, in the process, they will overturn a GD of +9. Highly, highly unlikely. We've even scored more goals as well. Of course it's stupid, this is Dalek were talking about. He says things which are blatantly and factually wrong just to get a rise out of people. Just to clarify for everyone. We don't need "at least" 7 points. 7 points is the absolute maximum we will need, even if West Ham win all 4 remaining games infinity - nil. I think we will need to get at least 7 points from our next three games to stand any chance of going up. how exactly do you work that out? If we get 6 points we will be on the maximum number of points which West Ham can achieve this season by winning all of their games. They would then need to boost their GD by + 9 to equal ours.Given that we'd need to at least +2 to win 2 games to get those 6 points that leaves them needing at least +11 from their 4 remaining games. If they win them all 3-0 that boosts them by +12 but we'd just need to score a couple more against Coventry. We need 6 points from 2 wins to take us up, Coventry and Peterborough and that will be enough.

dubai_phil Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 Worried that some of our defence are mentally tired with this run in. Likewise as I expressed before the palace game think CM's have almost run themselves into the ground. At least have an extra day to recover but NA will have to look closely at Martin for Fonte & Harding for Fox. Yesterday showed the CM problem - Hammond went off and that left Guly in CM... Hmm. HOPE MS is coming back from his cuts Am sure we have the quality to win, just worried about the number of games. One good thing, will be back listening to Saints Player & the reassuring what we don't of DM. I am starting to truly fear trips to the pub to watch us play. Luckily I'm on a stag next Saturday in Munich so no way I'll be taking time out to find no damned sports bar. Still need 6 points from 3 games, and still believe that will be done

Saint Garrett Posted 14 April, 2012 Share Posted 14 April, 2012 I just thought that Chaplow wasnt that bad, he's not naturally a wide player so he's not someone who is going to get down the wings. He does however, hold the ball up and gets the Lamberts knockdowns, and then passing the ball to Butterfield/Richardson to cross. At the end of the day, had we stolen a draw today or sneaked a win, everyone would have said he had a great game. I don't blame Adkins for bringing on De Ridder when he did due to him already being yellow carded, but I still think that he is our best option at RM that we have.
