Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 13 April, 2012 Posted 13 April, 2012 I'm following the negative crowd on this one. Time to put some money on WHU being level with us by next weekend. :-( I've got a gut feeling that this is going to be one of the biggest **** ups in football. Top 2 all season and slip into the play-offs at the final hurdle. And before you all start. Yes, I'm a miserable bastard.
Avenue Saint Posted 13 April, 2012 Posted 13 April, 2012 Wash your mouth out, Jonny! Makes me laugh as I'm normally the negative one and he's normally very optimistic. Looks like my doom & gloom has finally got to him. lol. Going down with no money in the bank you stupid skate ****.
SNSUN Posted 13 April, 2012 Posted 13 April, 2012 If we finish in the play-offs, we will win them. I'm in the semi-positive-semi-negative camp.
S-Clarke Posted 13 April, 2012 Posted 13 April, 2012 As much as the players need to put this result behind them, so do we. Blue line and all that. Go to posh, get a win, pick up something @ boro and take it to the last day. Happy with that.

It's ok, mathematically it's possible, and by expecting the worst you can only be pleasantly surprised - and I genuinely hope you will be pleasantly surprised
SaintSarah Posted 13 April, 2012 Posted 13 April, 2012 I have us getting four points from the remaining games but pipping west ham by one point for the second spot. Posh draw, boro loss cov win. West ham to loose at leics but to win their other three.
chocco boxo Posted 13 April, 2012 Posted 13 April, 2012 We still win it. Reading have peaked now. They will lose their next two! COYS.
obelisk Posted 13 April, 2012 Posted 13 April, 2012 Reading have peaked now. I've been saying that for weeks. Just shows what I know.
Cestrian Saint Posted 13 April, 2012 Posted 13 April, 2012 It's ok, mathematically it's possible, and by expecting the worst you can only be pleasantly surprised - and I genuinely hope you will be pleasantly surprised Wise words. Nice to see that some people are still capable of being pleasant about people's opinions. :-)
SNSUN Posted 13 April, 2012 Posted 13 April, 2012 We still win it. Reading have peaked now. They will lose their next two! COYS. Before their tough run of fixtures, someone on this board said that if Reading come out of their fixtures unscathed, they'll win the league. Their form is immense - it's like ours at the end of last season. I think we'll get promoted, but my God are we going to stumble over the line. West Ham fans on KUMB seem to think they can nick our spot. I hope we don't give them the satisfaction...
Micky Posted 13 April, 2012 Posted 13 April, 2012 If we don't get three points from posh - this could very well happen. And, if we ended up in the play offs I dont think we would stand a scoobies.

West Ham fans on KUMB seem to think they can nick our spot. I hope we don't give them the satisfaction... It would be absolutely criminal if we didnt get promoted now. We have (will have) done it the hard way - we have been up there all season to be shot at and lead from the front. As a result, everybody has raised their game against us. We have been the yard stick by which this league has been measured. Not to win the league is bad enough after all of our efforts, but to not get autopromo would be a real kick in the teeth for the lads. We deserve.
Bananaman Posted 13 April, 2012 Posted 13 April, 2012 Impossible even if west Ham win tomorrow and next weekend, we would still be above them on gd....
obelisk Posted 13 April, 2012 Posted 13 April, 2012 Impossible even if west Ham win tomorrow and next weekend, we would still be above them on gd....Unless they score a hatful and Saints concede more than 1 or 2. Not likely but not impossible.
SaintBobby Posted 13 April, 2012 Posted 13 April, 2012 Impossible even if west Ham win tomorrow and next weekend, we would still be above them on gd.... The next games are on Tuesday. By 5pm on 21st there will only be one game left.
scruftydog Posted 13 April, 2012 Posted 13 April, 2012 The next games are on Tuesday. By 5pm on 21st there will only be one game left. For us yes. West Ham don't play their penultimate game until Monday 23rd away to Leicester.
skintsaint Posted 13 April, 2012 Posted 13 April, 2012 is this the same West Ham who havent won at home for 7 games?
shirleysfc Posted 13 April, 2012 Posted 13 April, 2012 We'll get promoted at Boro and go on the smash in Newcastle! Wa-hey!!
Andover_Saint07 Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 All i can say is if we play like that against the next 3 teams we will smash them up... Just saying
Avenue Saint Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 All i can say is if we play like that against the next 3 teams we will smash them up... Just saying We played well without a doubt and that's something definitely positive to take from yesterday.
Surrey Saint Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 What a great season we are having, what great football our team have played. In all likelihood we'll go up automatically. What we can and must do is show our support and confidence in the team. Let's go for the glass half full option. The worst we can be after WH have played BHA is 3 points clear in 2nd with a superior goal difference. That's the only reality. We'll go to P'Boro Tuesday and they will be wary of our attack and respectful of our midfield. Our defence is not currently the best thing about our ganme but it's less porous than most in the division. If we win, great, if we draw or lose we'll still be ahead of WH even if they win their next game. No need for anyone to panic. COYS
WealdSaint Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 I think we were unlucky to get only 1 point out of both the Pompey & Reading games. If we carry on with the teams momentum we will get enough points to keep ahead of WHU.
Ohio Saint Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 This must be the thread for all of us that are struggling with our inner Alpines
Whitey Grandad Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 This must be the thread for all of us that are struggling with our inner Alpines You've created a new psychological condition: alpine complex.
The9 Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 Alternatively we could be all but up on Tuesday if we win and West Ham lose twice.
Ohio Saint Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 Reckon brighton could do the hammers! http://www.hahasport.com/c-1.html I'm hoping so!!!
The9 Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 http://www.hahasport.com/c-1.html I'm hoping so!!! Nice - there's only one featured Championship game, so that's going to be a stream somewhere.
COMEONYOUREDS Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 http://www.firstrowsports.eu/watch/118932/1/watch-west-ham-united-vs-brighton-and-ha.html
Saint Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 To be honest I'm more worried about an asteroid colliding with Earth. You know it can happen at any time without warning. What else are people getting needlessly worried about that we can't control?
Benali Saint Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 Our away form i better then our home form. I fully expect to pick up at least 4 points from our next 2 away games
Manuel Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 Unless they score a hatful and Saints concede more than 1 or 2. Not likely but not impossible. 6-0 Gulp!
Big_Bald_Si Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 Must say, I'm properly bricking it now. Can't rely on superior goal difference anymore, 7 points are required.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 Our away form i better then our home form. I fully expect to pick up at least 4 points from our next 2 away games That is the minimum we need
brmbrm Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 On the bright side, we could be all but promoted by 10pm on Tuesday (Wednesday? Can't rememebr when WHU play....)
brmbrm Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 That is the minimum we need No, its the mininum we might need - if you think less than totally negatively WHU might NOT win all their remaining games by enormous margins
SaintBobby Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 Still think six will probably do it. That GD is still worth an edge. I think we need to aim to win all 3 games though - we could still catch Reading FFS.
voteforpedro Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 Considering we've only managed 4 points from our last 4 games, 6/7 points from our next 3 is starting to look like a big ask.
scotty Posted 14 April, 2012 Posted 14 April, 2012 (edited) We've been up top long enough to believe that we should be able to get the 2 wins and a draw that will see us promoted come what may. The thing worrying me is tuesday night; looking at the table, posh ought to be the first of those 2 wins, but, but, but....they are also the only side to turn over Reading in their last 16 games. I cant remember the last time this season when we havent been able to say "its in our hands". Lose on tuesday and it could be out of our hands. Edited 14 April, 2012 by scotty
