You need 2 wins out of 3 if WHU win tomorrow. That should be against Peterboro and Coventry. If you dont win the next game then you have to win at Middlesboro and that would be a big ask but I think WHU will blow it anyway and 1 win will be enough.

Now I know how Leeds felt.

We absolutely dominated them until their second went in. Then it just went flat.

Fox was poor for their first and second.

Sod me! A lesson in playing the percentage game and then finishing. We weren't bad but we lacked a bit of yeast in the mix. The worse thing is now listening to some of our own supporters who come across as opposition fans on a wind-up.

They did the business at the back and up front. It didn't happen for us. We're still going up despite what the divs on this forum are going to say about us losing the next three in a row.

Mistakes mean the better team doesn't always win.

Le Fondre's first goal came from the same mistake we made against Pompey - not picking up the late-arriver.

And Fonte hasn't been the same player for a couple of months - slow, ponderous, indecisive.

We weren't robbed. We passed the ball well but created nothing in the 2nd half. They soaked up our pressure and did us on the break 3 times. We were far too one dimensional in how we attacked.

Fonte and Sharp were dog $hite.

Fair play to Reading.

Robbed. They were clinical. We were not. We have to bury some of those chances.

But we didn't lose belief.

Just have to hope we can keep that spirit and create the amount of chances we did tonight in our remaining games.

COYR.

They had a game plan, they did well.

Look at the stats - were good tonight, but undone by the counters.

Good game, if we play like that in the last 3, we're up.

Be honest - would you have taken this situation at the start of the league.

**** yeah. We're going up. Don't give a **** if we're not champions. We're Saints, and we're Premier League!

1) Reading deserve to win the league.

2) We are the Arsenal of the Championship. We want to walk it into the net.

3) I still think we go up, but we always do it the hard way.

4). **** **** ****.

Had a feeling we would lose to them.

They took their chances we didn't.

Peterborough now a massive game, really don't expect Brighton to get anything tomorrow.

It was a terrific game. The scoreline lies, but that's the way it happens sometimes. I look forward to both teams being promoted and will have no hard feelings at going up in second place to Reading.

However, if WHam somehow overtake us I will have to set fire to a tramp.

There was no cheating

There was no robbing

There was no mugging

Reading are a good team. Their defending, movement, counter play, energy levels and agression get the job done. They withstood our pressure and hit us as soon as we literally took our eye off the ball.

By contrast we are too casual, too slow, too into one touch too many and the clever pass.

Rickie was the best player on the pitch, but there was far too many screw-ups in midfield and our defence is f**king shocking.

Reading are the Champions, and over 46 games will have earned it.

Us ? We have some serious sh*t soul searching and work to do in the next few days to prevent this season being for nought.

Wouldnt be like Saints to do anything the easy way! Never mind a win at Peterboro and the prospects will look much better..... its not over yet!

Playing with 10 men as long as sharp is in the team, he does nothing for the team at all.

I hate writing people off but I'm afraid I agree. His contribution tonight consisted of falling over in the box about 3 times.

Ban this sk/ate please Chalet.

I'm gutted cos, call me greedy but, I wanted the title. I'd say that's gone now unless reading now falter at the last hurdle. Sometimes that happens.

Let's win the next two otherwise it's squeaky bum time.

Fox gave the ball away in the build up to Readings first, Poor marking for Readings second, and a combination of a crap header from Guly and some woeful defending by Fonte led to Readings 3rd. Mistakes like that and you will get punished.

Interesting to read some of the views above, I thought that although we controlled the possession for long periods, we didn't have enough penetration, especially second half, even though De Ridder was playing quite well. Too laboured at times and not incisive enough. Poor defending for all their goals IMO, they only 3 efforts on target and scored them all.

Possession is all well and good, and we didn't play badly, we just didn't use it enough.

Plus, hate to say this, and happy to be corrected if the tv did not reflect it correctly, but thought the crowd were poor when the team really needed them. Cameras kept cutting to the crowd sat there quietly contemplating defeat. Where was the passion to lift the team?

Not a bad performance by any means, we just never looked much of a threat. Reading showed why they're the best away side in the division, soaked up pressure and took their chances.

Well the fight is on for 2nd now. Unless Brighton do us a big favour it is going to get very nasty. Would we go through in the dreaded play offs ?

Reading could finish....Saints couldn't. Schoolboy defending by Saints for all 3 goals. I must admit, I don't think we'll make the autos now. They weren't penalties either. De Ridder was lucky to get away with his challenge IMHO. Reading are good at smash and grab. They deserve to win the title.

Like craap do the deserve to to win the league. We have not been out of the top three all season. They have just gone a really good run of games that's all. They have not shown me why they deserve to win the league.
