Good article. People will mention Rupert but always forget the REAL driving force was Georges Prost (who helped us get Morgan) and the people he had around him

Article written around a lot of historical material that is no longer relevant. In any case Middlesbrough (where Southgate was manager) are another leading exponent of the youth academy system, and have similar issues to Saints in terms of catchment area. Those scouts camping at St Mary's this season must be struggling to see the new youth players, because apart from an odd cameo appearance there has been little or no sign of any youth player making a breakthrough this term.
