CFSFC Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 Quick question for you, if Murty celebrates in the players lounge tomo night at Reading going 1-0 up will you all say this is fine?
Thedelldays Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 can't see the beef myself lambert was stood at wembley watching liverpool win the league cup. should we question him next season..?
doddisalegend Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 Couldn't care less..he works for us but Reading are his team
CFSFC Posted 12 April, 2012 Author Posted 12 April, 2012 can't see the beef myself lambert was stood at wembley watching liverpool win the league cup. should we question him next season..? Yes, if he was injured and celebrated against us.
Minty Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 He wouldn't. He's an employee of SFC, and he will want both teams to go up. I doubt he'd celebrate anything, he'll simply be hoping that whatever happens, West Ham stay 3rd.
CFSFC Posted 12 April, 2012 Author Posted 12 April, 2012 Couldn't care less..he works for us but Reading are his team Happy for us to pay him but celebrate against us. You lot on here are the most pc bunch I've ever come across.
Thedelldays Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 Happy for us to pay him but celebrate against us. You lot on here are the most pc bunch I've ever come across. and you are a very precious saints fan...and we do have many of those

CFSFC Posted 12 April, 2012 Author Posted 12 April, 2012 and you are a very precious saints fan...and we do have many of those Not at all, just have siege mentality us against them type. Thought you'd understand that being a military boy.
trousers Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 Wouldn't it be quicker to bump the other Murty thread covering exactly the same 'debate'?
Thedelldays Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 Not at all, just have siege mentality us against them type. Thought you'd understand that being a military boy. right...ok I think, we have what ever mentality we need....dont you?
Barry the Badger Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 He did last time whilst working for the club on a freelance basis What did he actually do?
doddisalegend Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 Happy for us to pay him but celebrate against us. You lot on here are the most pc bunch I've ever come across. What difference does it make? I'm pretty sure loads of people who work in football support a club other than the one they work for......
CFSFC Posted 12 April, 2012 Author Posted 12 April, 2012 right...ok I think, we have what ever mentality we need....dont you? As a club most certainly. Cortese, Adkins have installed this. Just I personally not a fan of club employees mocking my club in public. ( celebrating a goal does this ) it's like your missis openly admitting she'd rather brad Pitt going through her than you. We all know this to be the case deep down but wed all rather she lied and put on a united front and say I much prefer you.

WHICH i am sure SFC are more than happy with and agreed in his contract how do you think reading feel...all his nice words mean nothing..he is directly assisting in us finishing above them.... he should burn
CFSFC Posted 12 April, 2012 Author Posted 12 April, 2012 What did he actually do? Celebrated them going 1-0 up and signalling the score to the crowd. All ok on saints web yet all of the people away from this place were fuming. Silent minority perhaps.

Anyway were agree to disagree and I'll let the rest of the melons mock my comment.
Thedelldays Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 By celebrating in public thats enough for me. Anyway were agree to disagree and I'll let the rest of the melons mock my comment. well, the club (SFC) seem to be more than happy with him...
CFSFC Posted 12 April, 2012 Author Posted 12 April, 2012 well, the club (SFC) seem to be more than happy with him... Yeah I suppose they are, doesn't mean I can't think he's an utter clown.
Vershinin Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 If he celebrated a Reading goal against us, he should **** off and go and work somewhere else. Although football is a business, if this scenario was replicated in another sector, seeing an employee celebrate another company beating his current company to a deal for example, he'd be in deep ****. End of and no different here. Hopefully this won't be relevant tomorrow night though. COYR
alpine_saint Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 Unless he is doing something to undermine our chances, like passing tactical information to Reading's management or demotivating our players at Staplewood, whilst I understand the irritation in seeing him getting all moist at a Reading win and promotion, I dont see a major concern here.
Barry the Badger Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 If he is going mental at a Reading goal and properly celebrating, then I would probably say he should be a bit more professional. If he is responding to fans chants to confirm the score I would say this can be classed as 'banter' and is fine.
Sour Mash Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 Quick question for you, if Murty celebrates in the players lounge tomo night at Reading going 1-0 up will you all say this is fine? No-one should be happy with that. Can't see him doing it though. Bit strange that he never ended up at Reading in a coaching role.
sotonjoe Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 I'm still a bit mythed that we decided to employ somebody who is so openly 'Reading'. I don't really understand why Reading don't want him if he's such a good coaching acquisition. If it turns out he isn't that great, then perhaps he should start eating some humble pie and start making more of an effort to support his employer's team rather than jumping around in press boxes when Reading score against Saints.

sotonjoe Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 maybe, he is REALLY good and reading do want him but we won't let them have him...? Fine. Then I hope people tell him how to behave humbly in press boxes and club lounges and that he make sure he does it.
Thedelldays Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 Fine. Then I hope people tell him how to behave humbly in press boxes and club lounges and that he make sure he does it. can't really see where he has not...he just celebrated quite mildly a reading goal...
sotonjoe Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 can't really see where he has not...he just celebrated quite mildly a reading goal... Did you see him? I was there and it's all subjective but I thought it was a bit too joyous tbh. I thought he milked the adoration of the Reading fans a bit too much as well. That said, he wasn't in his 'new' Saintsfc role at that time anyway. I think the discussion would get pretty tedious if we all tried to draw up a set of guidelines about what sort of celebratory gesticulations are classed as excessive and should lead to the termination of his current contract, but I stand by me general point. He should remember who his employer is and behave in a way that would be seen by all rational supporters and staff of Saints as being respectful. If not, I expect a horse's head on his pillow by morning.
Saintjersey Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 Put it like this, if I worked for another club and Saints were playing them and Saints scored I would celebrate.
Patrick Bateman Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 Quick question for you, if Murty celebrates in the players lounge tomo night at Reading going 1-0 up will you all say this is fine? I'm not sure he would. It's in his interest for us to go up (and take him and his job with us), but equally, I could understand his heart ruling his head and giving a small clinched fist "yes" if they scored. I think I would if I were employed by another club and we were playing Saints. But no, I don't think proper celebrating would be on at all - and I'm not sure (well I hope) he wouldn't be like that. He must want us both to go up!?

I agree with all of what you say, except it's nothing like Brad Pitt going through her, with Reading it's more like prefering Barry from Eastenders.

sotonjoe Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 Well Bateman has got the ball rolling in terms of specifically what is and isn't ok for Murty to do... ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACCEPTABLE: Clenching fist and saying "Yes." NOT ACCEPTABLE: "Proper" celebrations. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Any advance?

He should be able to stand and politely applaud Like 75% of our fans do at games.
Miltonaggro Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 He should have the decency to clench his fist in his pocket, or simply rattle his loose change. I would up the Barry analogy to Warwick Davis...
Alain Perrin Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 I've considered this carefully and ranked it with other issues that are bothering me: 1) Escalation of hostilities in North Korea 2) The state of the world economy 3) What I am having for dinner ... Everything else 1905636839210) This.
kpturner Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 it's like your missis openly admitting she'd rather brad Pitt going through her than you. We all know this to be the case deep downI know for a fact that my missus prefers me over Brad Pitt. She told me so....and I believe her. However, if it was John Thaw rather than Brad Pitt, I believe I would be relegated to the spare room
Northant Saint Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 considering the magnitude of this game, if Murty does celebrate a reading goal as an employee of saints he needs to have a serious word with himself. It would be completely unprofessional and would be a sure way to wind the home fans up. If he is so intent on celebrating his colleagues misfortune in such a public manner, perhaps he should consider going elsewhere. For the record, I believe the following guidelines are appropriate: Acceptable: silent, restrained emotional outburst followed by polite applause. Unacceptable: wild gesticulation, open dialogue with reading fans.
hypochondriac Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 What an utterly pathetic thread. Who on earth cares what Murty does. I am convinced that the only people who will care are the people who post on here.
Dr Who? Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 Really, he is Reading through and through. He has split loyalties yes. He is mr Reading.
doddisalegend Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 What are people expecting Murty to do if Reading score ...launch a one man pitch invasion, rip of his top to reveal a Reading replica shirt, turn to the NC and flip him the finger before doing a running jump into the away fans as 3000 Reading fans scream MURTTTTTTTTTTTTTY

If just after they notice the linesman's flag!!
John Boy Saint Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 I will print this thread out and pop it through his letter box tomorrow on my way to work, just so he knows where he stands and has all day to think about it.
dannysfc Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 I quite like him tbh and I won't mind if he does celebrate or not tbh as I kind of felt sorry for him that is career came to an abrupt end and wish him Good Luck for the rest of his career whether being at Saints or not!!!

cellone Posted 12 April, 2012 Posted 12 April, 2012 I still think it's a shame that given is service to them Reading didn't keep him on.
