Mattio Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 Anyone know if they're still going ahead with the morrisons thing? If not I think I've found the perfect alternative... http://wish.co.uk/zombie-shopping-mall/
ThreeSixty Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 Where is the Zombie Shopping Mall and how do I get there? It's in Reading, Berkshire, 25 minutes or so by train from London Paddington station. You can also reach the experience by car (the postcode is RG1 1NR). More proof we can't compete with Reading. Saintandy666 Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 Need to that zombie thing. The thing I love most is how they have shopping opening hours outside :')
hutch Posted 12 April, 2012 Share Posted 12 April, 2012 Interesting concept. Sounds like fun. I wonder if it would translate to an almost disused football stadium which is also due for demolition soon.

fanimal Posted 12 April, 2012 Share Posted 12 April, 2012 Yes is the answer Mattio; I work for the Company running the project and we will submitting an application to SCC very soon. Good news is for me I have 2 fellow Saints fans on the project so you can guess what we spend more time talking about!!

Sheaf Saint Posted 12 April, 2012 Share Posted 12 April, 2012 Looks like a right laugh, but East Street isn't the only shopping centre in Southampton that offers itself as a candidate. Last time I was there the Bargate Centre seemed like it was almost abandoned as well.

It seemed to be doing alright until recently, had built itself up an alright alternative shop niche, but a lot of them seem to have disappeared recently. And Shakeaway left to go to the Marlands(glad to see they dropped the rename, did anyone ever actually call it the Mall or whatever it was?!). And the Internet Café isn't really a draw anymore due to the internets availability. It just hasn't got much going for it anymore.

I used to manage the Fat Face store when it was in the Bargate, back in 2000-2001. It wasn't exactly pumping back then - I hate to think how quiet it must be now.
