Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 Just wondered if anybody had seen any odds for us not going up automatically? I've had a look around but couldn't see anything. I don't want to place a bet, I'm just intrigued what the odds would be given our current position etc. Also, has anybody seen any odds for P*mpey to do the great escape and stay up? I wouldn't imagine that anybody is offering odds as 9 pts adrift with 4 games to go is pretty much odds on for relegation.
Saint Garrett Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 I think I read earlier it's something like 16/1 for us not to go up autos.

stu0x Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 Its almost tempting to parlay a lay on Saints to be promoted and a back on Pompey to stay up... If you could find someone to take it, the huge payout would go a significant distance to making up for the overwhelming disappointment

Barry the Badger Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 I thought we were up already. I saw a 'Saints on Fire' promotion charity single on itunes so it must have happened already.
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 11 April, 2012 Author Share Posted 11 April, 2012 Who's offering 16/1? I can't find anything anywhere. Just been told P*mpey are 40/1 to avoid the drop.

Cestrian Saint Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 Bet365 Link? I'm convinced we'll **** up and finish 3rd. Had a bet on it a few weeks ago and got nowhere near 16/1. I'll have a bit of that.

Cestrian Saint Posted 12 April, 2012 Share Posted 12 April, 2012 You must be a skate. **** off! My view is simple. We get promoted and i've lost a few quid but I'm immensely happy. If we don't, I've got a pocket full of cash as a softner and I can spend it on something that will help take my mind off the disappointment. SaintBobby Posted 12 April, 2012 Share Posted 12 April, 2012 You can get 10/1 on betfair that we won't finish in the top two. An alternative way to bet would be on our final points - Sporting Index have a spread of 88.75 and 89.5 points. If you reckon we are not going to be in the top two, then we're going to get less than 88.75 points! So "sell" Saints on Sporting Index.

Cestrian Saint Posted 12 April, 2012 Share Posted 12 April, 2012 You have never written a positive post, you're worse than Alpine and Dalek. Thanks. That's something to be proud of. I think you'll find there is the odd positive post out there somewhere but it's a pretty rare thing so there's a special prize if you manage to find it. :-)

If we don't do it automatically then I don't think we'll do it at all this season. Anyway, WTF do I know. I'm just a miserable, negative bastard that everybody seems to like to call a skate. lol. Don't worry folks, if we do go up I'll be the first one to eat a huge slice of humble pie and heap huge praise on all concerned. I certainly didn't expect us to be where we are now and laughed when Nicola said we'd be in the prem by 2014.
Legod Third Coming Posted 12 April, 2012 Share Posted 12 April, 2012 I have only once backed against Saints and that was in the JPT Final where I did a bit of hedging having backed us at 6/1. A few quid on Carlisle guaranteed a top day out... and a trophy! I'm holding 14/1 we win the league. And last night had a cheeky ton on Villa at 9/1 to go down. I know it's a long-shot but Wigan and Rangers have hit form, Bolton have an interesting run in and Villa have two very tough matches coming up... Oh and their fans hate McLeish who for my money is one of the most over-rated managers in the country.

Dr Who? Posted 12 April, 2012 Share Posted 12 April, 2012 Bookies window in The Russell Square area had 3-1 Saints. A very popular score amount saints in days gone by. Also I would like to point out that they have got the scores in the window spot on 11 out of 13 that I have seen. I walk this way Monday to Thursday. So 3-1 you heard it first. Dark Munster Posted 12 April, 2012 Share Posted 12 April, 2012 How much are the odds of not getting promoted (auto or through playoffs)? Worth a few quid maybe to soften the blow of not going up.
Saints Warrior Posted 12 April, 2012 Share Posted 12 April, 2012 Saints 3-1 £10 gets you £420. Bet657 are offering 450/1 to get out of relegation and finding a new owner.

There's always one team who get dragged into the mix with 3 or 4 games to go and they're by no way out of the woods. Couldn't agree more about McLeish. Very over-rated indeed.
