Legod Third Coming Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 I'm glad we didn't let the k u n t in. Representing a club that stole money from the poppy appeal? They deserve to rot in hell. Scum of the earth, And to think I used to want them to survive to enjoy these derbies.
Cascadia Saint Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 In truth, though, their spears bounced off the Pompey body armour. Honours may have been shared but this was the day of the blue half of Hampshire. A day when a last-gasp draw at the home of the Championship leaders and fierce rivals tasted as good as a victory. And those on the bubble buses savoured every moment of the trip home. Right.... We are top of the championship with 4 games to go. Portsmouth are 2nd bottom and 9 points away from avoiding relegation. Enjoy your Pompey body armour in League 1 / Blue Square / Oblivion.
Crazy Diamond Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 He's clearly as deluded as the rest of them down the road from that quote about it being like a victory. Going down is not like a victory, I hope whoever subs his work does a good job...

The9 Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 sorry, but Sibley's actions, both his comments about PFC on twitter and this subsequent reaction to the negative press Allan gave him show a lack of class. Still 100 times classier than Allen, based on the stuff on Twitter I've seen reposted...
The9 Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 Much more concerned about the results on the pitch than some spat with a journalist. But...the club do seem to arrange their PR in an unorthodox and rather odd fashion (the ban on photographers leading papers to show the highlights in a cartoon strip, the ban on the Echo for what seems a minor breach of protocol etc) It's not the most important thing in the world, but it does look a bit silly, weird and childish at times. What "minor breach of protocol" are you referring to ?

L1Minus10 Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 Can't understand why he's using his position to cry about his treatment by big bad SFC instead of doing something worthwhile like organizing a collection for St Johns Ambulance or that schoolboys team in Dublin that his club owes money to. BlakeySFC Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 (edited) The guy is an absolute disgrace of a human being. Let alone a journalist. The article he wrote after the poopey game was rediculous, sensationalist, overhyped, over zealous bull sh1t of the highest order. Obviously I can understand why a 'classy' publication like The News would put a Poopey slant on an article, and that can be accepted, but the drivel he comes out within ridiculous, saying he saw a 'bald men walking a dog who they threw V signs at the coach, as the victorious (lol) poopey supporters bus road on by' It's an absolutely ridiculous article, and shows why the standard of journalism in this country is ridiculous, how this guy won an award n 2010 and how he is 'well-respected' in the industry is crazy. I believe the club knew what a complete waste of space this so called 'journalist' is when he tried to get in the press box and simply went 'no, your a ****, you're not getting in' Good on 'em, I think it's hilarious that out of spite maybe Allen writes that rediculous article, and what's even funnier is all the skates with 1 brain cell spread around the city lap up his sensationalised bull sh1t without even question. Pompey's a sh1t city, with a population made up of morons, drug addicts and thieves with a sh1t newspaper, and extremely sh1t football club. So I think Allen and Pompey suit each other quite nicely. dubai_phil Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 We will get crucified if we play the "big boys" of the National Press like this when we get to the PL. But until then? Sibley is fast becoming a legend. Totally NOT surprised he got his revenge for Neil Allens Tweets demanding Sibley got sacked for questioning poopeys award as Community Club of the Year. Everyone has seen how WRONG that decision was by the statement by PKF today showing they haven't paid a Hotel Bill or Coach company in ages. Karma - you gotta love it, well done lad - we all know you post on here - would have done the same myself and felt BLOODY good about it. BUT next year? Suomi Saint Posted 12 April, 2012 Share Posted 12 April, 2012 At first I thought the photograph was actually a joke - I'd imagined some sicko had cut/pasted it from an article about a group of physically challenged people on a day out to the seaside. If this is the photo that was the header to the article, then this so-called journalist does indeed need re-training. A really ridiculous article. I'm a 50 year old man with 4 kids, well educated, but even I would have given hand signals to these so called "best supporters in the land." The poster above was right, a real journalist worth his salt would focus on the financial irregularities of this dying football club. Having said that, Saints need to up their PR a bit if we make the PL. Not just Sibley, but also Nigel. Sky won't be happy pumping millions into Saints, only to receive the same tape recorded after match interview every week.

SaintBobby Posted 12 April, 2012 Share Posted 12 April, 2012 What "minor breach of protocol" are you referring to ? The supposed breach of an embargo on the Staplewood development story. The club imposed an embargo, but the Echo then found enough info already in the public domain to run the story anyway. Most journalists would say that's fair enough. You might consider it sharp practice, but it warrants a rebuke on the phone and a lengthy period before other stories are given to him ahead of time and a warning this isn't helping the club-Echo relationship. Not an indefinite ban, which I believe was the punishment meted out.

stevegrant Posted 12 April, 2012 Share Posted 12 April, 2012 I would normally stand up for the rights of a journalist - whether local or national - to state his opinion in his written work, whether that's for or against a football club's policies, decisions, etc. However, in true football fan style, I'm going to be fickle on this occasion and say "**** him". Daren W Posted 12 April, 2012 Share Posted 12 April, 2012 Media policy is very rarely straight forward and often comes down to the manager actually. Harry would let the world and their missus into the tunnel at full time, Burley then asked for only the people that absolutely had to be there to attend and no one else. Look at Ferguson, he bans anyone who looks at him the wrong way or doesn't dress appropriately. This guy at the Portsmouth News is a small fish. It's not worth worrying about. Cause for concern at Pompey then... Look at the end of the day he's not very good is he? Likening the bubble coaches to King kong being dragged through New York is pretty lame really. I'd like to think he was banned just for being pretty crap...
