Bad Wolf Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 They're looking **** hot and they have an amazing amount of flare about them. I'm starting to think if offered to me, I'd probably take a draw...
S-Clarke Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Draw wouldn't be the end of the world, it would still be all in our hands. But I feel that if we really want the league, then we'll need to knock points off them.
Monk Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 whoever wins this will be Champions and I want us to be Champions.
sambosa75 Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 No I wouldn't. Have some f*cking faith people. Lucky the squad and staff aren't as big bottle jobs as a lot of you seem to be.
Mattio Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 If we win we almost guarantee automatic so I'd be extra disappointed, especially if we failed to win because we play poorly.
LGTL Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 No. We are more then capable of having them. I want to win this league.
Didcot Saint Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 No, I want us to batter them. We deserve to win the league, if they finish above us after being above them all season it will be a travesty, even if we get promoted. You can bet your life NA wants to win the league big time.
dune Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 They're looking **** hot and they have an amazing amount of flare about them. I'm starting to think if offered to me, I'd probably take a draw... Brighton battered them but didn't take their chances. I want us to go out and beat them. We're more than capable of doing it.
Jack Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 We can have them. They're a bit depleted and had a tough game tonight. If Brighton weren't so useless at finishing, it would've been a different story tonight. Saints 3-1. Cork and Fonte to get their first goals of the season. And a goal for SRL.
Cabrone Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 No because I'm confident that they will win their last 3 but I'm not sure that we will. They have Forest and Palace at home and Brum U16's away on the last day. 3 wins for them. We must beat them and we will.
shurlock Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 No- they're a resilient side but nothing special. Just stay switched on from setpieces and we'll be fine.
trousers Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 A draw would be the worst result for West Ham...is one way of looking at it...
Hopkins Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 We're more than capable of doing it. This. We can win. I wan't us to win. I expect us to win. **** just getting promoted, not only are we up pretty much anyway, but we have an opportunity to go and win a league. Something we won't get another chance to do for a long time.
Dig Dig Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 I dismissed Reading a few weeks ago but they are actually quite good aren't they?! Will be a tough game and we will need to be at our best to win. Point wouldn't be terrible for either team, would still be 7 clear of west ham with 4 games to go (for them)
S-Clarke Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 This. We can win. I wan't us to win. I expect us to win. **** just getting promoted, not only are we up pretty much anyway, but we have an opportunity to go and win a league. Something we won't get another chance to do for a long time. This. Every word of it.
DG Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Probably...their run doesn't seem to be ending any time soon. A win would be nice though (surrounded by Reading fans at work).
sfc1976 Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Think it's pretty lame going into a game against Reading at home and hoping for a draw really. They got a heavily deflected goal tonight and Brighton could have scored at least 4. Just hope we start really positive and try and bombard them for the first 20 mins.
Barry the Badger Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 No, we can beat them. I want us to win the league.
.comsaint Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Yeah - sod the 'gentleman's agreement' of a draw! We have nothing to fear - and we have what it takes to win it. All hail Fortress St Marys!!!
sfc4prem Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Some of our fans are such bottlers. Grow some balls, we're at home, and we are just starting a new run of wins through to the end of the season.
Saint Charlie Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 They were lucky tonight and were pummelled for most of the game, Brighton missing a pen and hitting the bar twice. We can hurt them and are great at home.
DrZuess1979 the 2nd Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Couldnt hear this "amazing amount of flare" tonight Go all guns at them ala Brighton but lets convert our chances 3-1 Saints
Ziggy Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 I honestly think we will win this one. Whilst a draw would not be a disaster (or a lose for that matter) we are at home, playing well and full of confidence. Oh, and top of the league. I can't wait as it will be a glorious night.
Wade Garrett Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 I can't see us playing for a draw, nor them. It should be a cracking game.
Kingsland Nick Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 If we draw, West Ham could close the gap to just 4 points, so why would we take a draw?
Ric Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 We (effectively, with the aid of goal difference) need just two wins to go up. Unless we completely implode in the last four games, it's all about the title (I don't even want to start thinking about that...). On the form of the last few games, it's hard to see Reading dropping points against Palace or Forest - but I could see us dropping points against Peterborough or Middlesbrough. If we want the title, only a win will do on Friday.
pap Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 I've heard all sorts of stats trumpeted about lately about Reading's form, stuff like "if the league had started in November they'd have been n points clear". We also had wee Gus blurt on about Reading being the best team in the league. They deserve a massive amount of credit for overhauling most of the league the way they have done, but I think we're a better team. I want a good win on Friday and the league title at the end of the season to prove it.
doddisalegend Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 No! I want us to demolish them, show people watching the telly how well we can play, still be top of the league and go up as fecking champions (something we may never have the chance to do again for a long time)
ThreeSixty Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 If we draw then post match i'll say "I'd have taken a draw" But really, no.
Dr Who? Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 whoever wins this will be Champions and I want us to be Champions. Agree with this. I think we will win 2 of our last 3, and Reading will win 2 of their last 3. This would mean winner on Friday would take the title. A draw and it will more than likely be us. It is important we do not lose it. Reading have the joint best away record in the league, but our home record is the best. We are at home after only drawing our last home game. For this reason I think we will win the game. We lose and West Ham win, again we will be looking over our shoulder. This would make the Posh game so important, and put a little bit of pressure on. I think going into a home game and for the first time since the opening day not being huge favourites will help.
Dr Who? Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Summing that up...... You have to win your home games, and if we do, we will go up!
sentry Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Obviously I want a win, but could not really care less about the league as long as we go up.
Dr Who? Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Beat reading and we will only need to win 2 of the last 3 to be champions!!!
Suhari Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 No! I want us to demolish them, show people watching the telly how well we can play, still be top of the league and go up as fecking champions (something we may never have the chance to do again for a long time) +1 on this. Let's tear them a new one. WIFM
rshephard3 Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 No because even if we had a go and lost by the odd goal, we have shown this season we're good enough to go up and will still finish in the top 2. It would be nice to have a go at the win which is exactly what we will do. We need not be scared of anyone.
Lighthouse Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 I would walk away with a draw pretty satisfied. Would I take it now? Feck no, let's 'ave 'em!! We aren't top of the league by fluke and Reading will f**k up one of these tough fixtures sooner or later.
terrasaint Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 They were lucky tonight and were pummelled for most of the game, Brighton missing a pen and hitting the bar twice. We can hurt them and are great at home. I truly believe they have used up all their luck. We can win., and I am the World's most pessimistic person!
randyapollo Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 i want and expect a win.southampton fc.better than the rest this season by far
Fan The Flames Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 This is what it is all about, two top clubs playing each other late in the season for the big prize. Bring it on we are good enough.
kpturner Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 I predict 4 minutes of "bowels turning to liquid" injury time......not saying what the score is though. You'll have to wait.
Gigersaint Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Nope, 3 points off of Reading please on Friday. Just for once in my 40+ years other than 76 I'd love to see Saints not be runners up. Want to see us beat Reading then go on to win the Championship.
S-Clarke Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 To be honest, thinking about it - we need to win this for the title. No other result will really do. Reading have 2 very winnable home games after us (Home to Forest and then Palace). I'd expect them to easily pickup 6 points there, and we've got 2 tricky away games @ P'Boro and M'Boro. So a win for us takes the pressure of those games, slightly, but a draw or a defeat hands the gauntlet into Readings hands you'd have to say.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 If we lose this one and WHU win against BHA then P'boro becomes VERY important! Lose the next 2 and we could be level with WHU with M'boro away then Cov who might still be fighting for champ survival! This is worst case! Best case...... we win all the next 4 :) Somewhere between the two will do
