Crazy Diamond Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 We all know we have to focus on ourselves and control the controllables. Well. Two big games tonight, Brighton v Reading and Skates v Millwall. I think it's worthy of a thread. We all know what we want from the Amex (I think!) but anything but a win for the blue few and it's all over bar the shouting, surely. A friend of mine who supports Reading has just informed me that they have an injury crisis. Ian Harte is facing a late fitness test, Mikele Leigertwood, Hal Robson-Kanu and Jem Karacan are all out of tonight's fixture. Looks set to be a big night. I won't go as far as to cheer on Brighton or Millwall but they have my blessing!
This Charming Man Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 I'll be cheering on Brighton. Couldn't care less about them normally and as far as I'm concerned, there's no rivalry. Yes Poyet is a c*nt but I'll take pleasure from him being able to do us a favour as that'll probably really grate on him.
Saint Garrett Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Come on Brighton!! I'm guessing there are no streams for this? I've had a look but all I can find is Liverpool Vs Blackburn and Wrexham Vs Fleetwood !!
Lighthouse Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Supporting Millwall and Brighton!! Has it really come to this?
Nessy7 Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Are their streams for the Reading game? It will be my scouting mission before Friday
Edmonton Saint Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 The warped part of me thinks I would rather Reading won tonight as its then less likely they will on Friday. My reckoning is that if Reading lose tonight, then they have so much more focus for Fridays game as that could be the be all and end all of their season. If that makes any sense?

And I thought my logic was warped... ;-)
musesaint Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Feeling sick that I'm actually supporting Brighton for this !! FFS are there no limits to our sacrifices for Saints ??
petermcpete Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Are their streams for the Reading game? It will be my scouting mission before Friday Don't think there will be, is on 5LiveExtra though.
Window Cleaner Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 As predicted Reading seriously depleted, all of their regular CMs are out,viz Tabb,Leigertwood,Karacan and Robson Kanu.
Fan The Flames Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Only one important game tonight; couldn't give a **** about pompey.
Sour Mash Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 As predicted Reading seriously depleted, all of their regular CMs are out,viz Tabb,Leigertwood,Karacan and Robson Kanu. IS that definite? Massive blow for them if it is, some very good players there.
Window Cleaner Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Seagulls!! No need to go overboard, a draw and a few(more) walking wounded for Reading will do.
Window Cleaner Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 IS that definite? Massive blow for them if it is, some very good players there. Oh yes it's the real gen, knew it this morning..don't ask.
ooh it's a corner Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Oh yes it's the real gen, knew it this morning..don't ask. Same for Friday?
Window Cleaner Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Same for Friday? Ah couldn't say as yet...Tabb and Karacan definitely I think, wait and see for the other 2...I'll have to wait for the Oracle.
ooh it's a corner Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Ah couldn't say as yet...Tabb and Karacan definitely I think, wait and see for the other 2...I'll have to wait for the Oracle. that's good enough for me, ta.
alpine_saint Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Nice to be able to sit back and enjoy someone else's team under pressure today.
S-Clarke Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Nice to be able to sit back and enjoy someone else's team under pressure today. This. But let's not all go off on one if the result doesn't go the way we want. Expect a win and be surprised otherwise is what I say.
Window Cleaner Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 This. But let's not all go off on one if the result doesn't go the way we want. Expect a win and be surprised otherwise is what I say. Still don't think the result matters a great deal, not to us.To West Ham yes, their principal wish must be to see Brighton win and both sides seriously depleted.
S-Clarke Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Reading (4-4-2) Federici; Cummings, Harte, Gorkss, Pearce; McAnuff ©, Mullins, Kebe, Cywka; Hunt, Roberts So they are without their first choice midfield. Harte makes it though
Thedelldays Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Reading (4-4-2) Federici; Cummings, Harte, Gorkss, Pearce; McAnuff ©, Mullins, Kebe, Cywka; Hunt, Roberts So they are without their first choice midfield. Harte makes it though still enough to cause most lots of problems...
Saints Warrior Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 brighton to win 1-0 and Millwall to win 3-1
Sour Mash Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Reading (4-4-2) Federici; Cummings, Harte, Gorkss, Pearce; McAnuff ©, Mullins, Kebe, Cywka; Hunt, Roberts So they are without their first choice midfield. Harte makes it though Still not a bad midfield to be fair.
S-Clarke Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 brighton to win 1-0 and Millwall to win 3-1 If Carlsburg did tuesdays...
S-Clarke Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 still enough to cause most lots of problems... Yep, not a bad team really. They've got a nice squad, the additions they made in January are making them look pretty strong now. Brightons team is pretty much full strength too. Intriguing evening coming up.
LGTL Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Wish this was on Sky rather then the Blackburn-Liverpool borefest.
Dr Who? Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 If you had to choose 1 Brighton win from their next 2 what would you choose. Would have to be Brighton to beat West Ham on Sat.
rshephard3 Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Wish this was on Sky rather then the Blackburn-Liverpool borefest. Agreed. Arguably the biggest of the championship games so far this season at Brighton- Win for Reading, you'd fancy the top 2 big time, win for B'ton it's really hotting up to the finish line for 2nd place and would boost brighton again for playoffs. This excitement compared to Dalglish's bore merchants and Blackburns long ball/long throw fest... Ps, fully expect to witness a 4-4 at Ewood park now!!
Dr Who? Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Wish this was on Sky rather then the Blackburn-Liverpool borefest. Me as well.
jasonb Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Wish this was on Sky rather then the Blackburn-Liverpool borefest. I bet SKY do as well. The Prem has all but fizzled out now with excitement mounting for who clinches 4th place!!! FFS!
jasonb Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 I bet SKY do as well. The Prem has all but fizzled out now with excitement mounting for who clinches 4th place!!! FFS! I'll follow that by saying... I'm not sure I truly, really want to go back to the Prem.. we win more games than we lose down here... Perhaps we could do a time-share next season... if we don't like it we sacked it off and come back down here
S-Clarke Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Brighton with the first chance. Reading GK flapping.
dune Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Brilliant news about Karacan breaking his ankle. He's their best play maker in my view. Massive loss for them.
farawaysaint Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Brighton with the first chance. Reading GK flapping. Yay, long may it continue
Jack Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Listening to this with Sky on mute as it's going to be ****. Decent start for Brighton, Reading are playing 1 up top and haven't got on the ball yet
jasonb Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Reading to take a point here with a weakened midfield and target Friday night as the more winnable fixture.
Thedelldays Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Reading to take a point here with a weakened midfield and target Friday night as the more winnable fixture. right, please can you explain how coming to the best team in the league is a more winnable fixture..?
Dr Who? Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Brighton dominating it so far. Reading goal coming up then!
alpine_saint Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 right, please can you explain how coming to the best team in the league is a more winnable fixture..? Why do you feel the need to jump down everyone's throats when they post something ?
brett24 Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Brilliant news about Karacan breaking his ankle. He's their best play maker in my view. Massive loss for them. Idiot, how can that be brilliant news!
hypochondriac Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Why do you feel the need to jump down everyone's throats when they post something ? Probably because it's a rather odd comment from the OP?
pap Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Reading denied a penalty but 1 - 0 up a minute afterward anyway!
farawaysaint Posted 10 April, 2012 Posted 10 April, 2012 Why do you feel the need to jump down everyone's throats when they post something ? Not to crtiticise Alps but he has a point here, we're the tougher fixture by far with a great home record. Reading are resting several of their "injured" players apparently for the clash with us.
