Gemmel Posted 10 April, 2012 Share Posted 10 April, 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17663750 I don't need to be told the rule book. This just shows how out of touch they really are.
This Charming Man Posted 10 April, 2012 Share Posted 10 April, 2012 Disgraceful. Really annoys me when they won't admit they're wrong. Anyone who knows anything about football could tell you that wasn't a penalty (not least because he was offside). Nice touch from Reilly phoning up Martinez and apologising for the monumental balls up in the Chelsea game. Mistakes will be made, human error is a natural occurrence but hold your hands up when you get it wrong. Ref's are wrapped up in cotton wool these days. You have a high profile job, you need to be man enough to take the criticism that will inevitably come your way when an error is made.
LGTL Posted 10 April, 2012 Share Posted 10 April, 2012 What I love is that Ballotelli has not been given a further ban for his horror tackle, yet Derry has for tapping Young on the shoulder! The FA can't do anything because it was "seen by the officials".... Well the officials got it wrong you fools, so just change the rules so that you can take action after the event, even if it was seen. Why are Tennis, Cricket and Rugby allowed to rule their officials were wrong, but not Football? It's a joke.
skintsaint Posted 10 April, 2012 Share Posted 10 April, 2012 it was a blatent dive by Young...he should be banned for a game or fined a weeks wages or something. Doesnt help the refs that playing are diving all over the place now.
St Jim Posted 11 April, 2012 Share Posted 11 April, 2012 How amusing is it when they bleat on about upholding 'integrity' in the game yet these decissions just s*** in the face of integrity. The FA should review the Balotelli incedent and at the minimum take theses three actions - 1. not ban him becuase that would be breaking their own rules; 2. sack the referee for not giving a red card, or even a yellow, or even a free kick, especially after he reported that he saw the incident; 3. change the rule for the coming season to allow the FA to retrospectively issue fines and bans for incidents that the referee has seen but did not take the appropriate action.
