Is the reading game sold out? - answer: yes!

I love it how upset people get about attendances Maybe it's me and I'm not getting something. Some fans on here not long ago were claiming this is the best side we've ever had, playing the best football they've ever seen and how great it is to be a Saints fan right now. Some fans are claiming we need a bigger stadium.

There are two games left this season and this is 1st v 2nd, its a local derby, we could effectively seal promotion on Friday. Under those circumstance I can't think of a single reason why this won't sell out or why "fans" wouldnt want to be there. In fact we sh

ould have sold out weeks ago and be turning people away in their droves yet all I get when mentioning it are snidy comments about thinking I'm a better fan than someone else. It's hilarious how so many think it's such a great time to be a Saints fan yet can't be arsed to go to games, even massive ones like this.

You make a fair point, BUT, an interesting Statistic would be (MLG where are you?)

How many Evening Televised games at SMS sold out when were used to be in the PL?

How many tickets have Reading taken?

And, FWIW, it's costing me around 650 quid to get back for 3 days JUST to watch the Coventry game, so I can be excused missing this one on Friday.

Reading have taken the full 3,200 allocation.

MLG uses a 32k crowd for a televised game v Bolton midweek in 2002 or something as evidence of why we need to expand. It happened, we did sell out. But that wasn't the best Saints team people have ever seen playing in a title and promotion decider so hardly apples with apples.

Just for clarity....how many supporters are in the "can't be arsed to go" camp?

I can't go on Friday but would be "arsed" if I was able to go, so that's one less to count....

Don't forget that there's a chance of rain on Friday evening. People won't want to be getting wet just for a game of football.

I know, when it rains we all make a dash for the dugout: does our manager's head in..

Actually I'm going to lie through my teeth at training tonight and tell the manager I've a meeting on Friday so won't be able to train - the first time this season I've bunked off. There had better be a stream!

I'm not a rich bugger like DP so can't make the end of the season. July, August and first 2 weeks in September I'm not teaching so when does next season start: I need to start planning?

Why's that? Chris De Burgh concert to pay for?

Answering one question with two? Tut tut....You'll have people accusing you of avoiding the question if you're not careful....

Why is everyone getting annoyed when it sounds like its going to sell out?

Not annoyed as such, but how many people are settling for worse seats for this massive game because of the online system. My actual point was that it seemed like it was already a sell out, however a trip to ticket office has proven otherwise. Just in response to original question, like.

TBH, any "fan" who doesn't break his/her balls to be there on Friday is a cu nt.

Obviously people overseas, working, wife in labout etc are a different matter but no excuses for those outside of those categories IMHO.

Biggest game for years and years and years.

It seems looking at the match day threads you often fall into the "can't make it, got something else to do" category, one mans "can't make it got something else to do" might be another mans "can't be arsed" of course......

hahaha!

Actually that was cash set aside for FMDP's outfit for Daughter's wedding. Luckily (;)) found a load of pics of a Nina Ricci original dress online and have got a local sweat shop to make up a knock off for 50 quid inc material (BUT DON'T TELL HER FFS!).

One of my wayward Tee Shots at Emirates slaughtered an Indian Starling (Beautiful Plumage all Royal Blue) to match the dress, so have got another mate to glue them onto one of those headband thingys from Claire's. Sorted

Then OF COURSE, I will have to find some business meeting to attend while over. Luckily, with Granty's PTS bid for the skates looks like a pint in the Concourse at Coventry should allow that to be deductible and so voila.

Don't need money. Just Creativity

No, it really ISN'T a local derby. There are just short of 50 miles between the 2 stadiums, no way is it a local derby

There were sod all left yesterday and someone mentioned today there are less than 60 remaining. The hotline will be busy with people ringing up for Peterborough, as it was yesterday, so if you've not got a ticket, ring up and get in the queue quick! Also use the 'alternative' number...

They were showing Peterborough away as "Sold Out" the other day.

Yeah but we got given more tickets which changed the status. Clearly not possible with a home game.

Point being that Peterborough wasn't "sold out" or anywhere near close, therefore, just because it may say "sold out" on there, doesn't mean you should take it for certain. I'm pretty sure further tickets popped up for the skates games after the ticket site said "sold out".

just a quick look

exeter plymouth

norwich ipswich

cardiff swansea

newcastle boro

manchester leeds

are all very similar distances

But is it a "derby" and what constitutes a "derby". The games you've listed there all have a history of hatred and regional rivalry. Can't think of anyone from Southampton that has a dislike of Reading particularly. Guess there is a fair bit of cross-over in places like Basingstoke and Newbury.
