Lazlo78 Posted 10 April, 2012 Share Posted 10 April, 2012 We may have some issues with Brighton and Poyet in particular, but seen from their perspective they have an good manager, a solid team and a spanking new stadium that they fill up quite nicely: http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D1/attend.html. del boy Posted 10 April, 2012 Share Posted 10 April, 2012 I fully expect the Brighton captain to go down in a heap clutching his wrist and appealing to the ref as soon as the two captains shake hands before the match. That aggressive approach to the Brighton team is something the ref is going to have to keep an eye on. The Amex ball boys keeping possession of the football should restrict the amount of un-necessary on-field activity but overall, through gritted teeth, I'm hoping Brighton's sporting approach will reap the rewards their attractive football deserves (v Reading and Wet Spam anyway)
keithd Posted 10 April, 2012 Share Posted 10 April, 2012 I watched Reading play Leeds and didnt think they were all that good. In fact until they scored Leeds had the better chances to go ahead. But credit where its due and all that, they stuck at it and got the result they deserved which is all that matters as this stage of the season. Reckon Brighton will get something from the game tonight....

saints_is_the_south Posted 10 April, 2012 Share Posted 10 April, 2012 Brighton's home form since December can give us some cause for optimism ahead of tonight's game, here are a few stats that may be of interest: Unbeaten in 9 home games. Lost 1 in 13 home games. Won 9 of the last 13 home games. Their record against current top 6 teams at home: Saints - W3-0 Reading - Yet to play West Ham - L0-1 Birmingham - Yet to play Blackpool - D2-2 Cardiff - D2-2 Looking at their game at West Ham on Saturday, their away form does not look as good. Since winning their first 3 consecutive away games at the start of the season, they've won just 3 more times away from home in 18 games. Against the current top 2 they lost 3-0 both times. So a fair chance that they could nick something tonight, but don't see them getting anything at WH at the weekend. This is a strange and unpredictable league though, and WH seem to not to want to win at home so who knows. My predictions - Brighton 2-2 Reading & WH 1-0 Brighton. pap Posted 10 April, 2012 Share Posted 10 April, 2012 So in essence, we're looking for a niggly, bad-tempered performance from Brighton featuring tackles that'd make Chopper Harris blush, play-acting good enough to grace the RSC and a couple of Reading players to get sent off or suspended after the referee receives vituperative criticism from a crowd of tear-p*ssing Brighton players. Do you think Gus has that sort of tactic in his locker?
