Shroppie Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Am I right in saying that if west ham drop points, we then only need 2 wins to go up? Technically, if they lose we need two wins, but GD probably means a draw for them is the same.
Cascadia Saint Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 I declared my own bank holiday as soon as I realised I would not get any work done today. good idea, i might have to try that one!
Window Cleaner Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Am I right in saying that if west ham drop points, we then only need 2 wins to go up? sounds about right but I think that the lads and the management might be disappointed not to get the title all the same and that means not losing on Friday night.
alpine_saint Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 An important game and a massive result. Very, very pleased, had this one down as a banana skin. And a splendid response to the last two games of dross. Helps settle the nerves and the doubting voice in my head a bit. Fingers crossed Brum can get a point tonight, would make Wham effectively 3 games behind us due to GD, with only 4 left. Even I would fancy our chances then. Even if Wham win, they are so running out of games. I still think we wont be champions, and I expect Reading to grab the momentum on Friday, but nevertheless they've still got to win tomorrow. Champions is a bonus anyway. Well done lads for your response from the weekend. Take a day off tomorrow, imo.
ericofarabia Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 LOLAGE ... listening to Palace link on Saints Player .... my god what a Mong Fest - boy am I glad we don't do Phone ins anymore!!
Thedelldays Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 mad isn't it.. they missed at least one absolute sitter. yet on staurday, maguire scored a worldy........funny old game
Dalek2003 Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Technically, if they lose we need two wins, but GD probably means a draw for them is the same. If Brum win then we will be much closer, a draw between us and Reading would be fine.
aintforever Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Absolutely massive win, now heaps the pressure on Wham and if they get a result heaps even more on Reading away at Brighton tomorrow. COYR
alpine_saint Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Great win. Now let's see how the chasers do. Guly looking somewhat miffed at the end there. Maybe the booboys have got to him. Why do our fans do that ? We still need him to a job, FFS.

Wham must feel the pressure and surely Brum will want to win tonight.
Ashby Saint Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Still don't get why the fans hate Guly, scored a lot of big goals earlier in the season that kept you up the top then has been sacrificed to play RM and only gets **** from the fans. Disgraceful puts me off you wanting to go up at times but West Ham are much worse I don't hate Guly. I just don't think he is good enough. His main offence is that for a man on £ks a week he doesn't always seem to try hard enough (most notably not manning up in the derby game at Fratton Park to stop them scoring).
niceandfriendly Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 DM talking about Man City... Balatolli and Saguero.
alpine_saint Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 I think the people who hate Guly and boo him are arseholes. FFS, he beat Middlesbrough by himself.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Massive result - could so easily have been a disaster.
Cestrian Saint Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Absolutely fantastic result. Now let's hope Brum do us a favour and keep our fingers crossed that Friday 13th isn't unlucky for us. :-)

Ziggy Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Brilliant result. When I think back to the Skates equaliser on Saturday I have felt physically sick so this is just what the doctor ordered. Come on Birmingham!

Wade Garrett Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Midfield were excellent today according to my snout at the ground.
Cascadia Saint Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Good summary Alpine. Wham must feel the pressure and surely Brum will want to win tonight. Absolutely. West Ham must be sh1tting it...

Glasgow_Saint Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 I think the people who hate Guly and boo him are arseholes. FFS, he beat Middlesbrough by himself. Who hates him? P.s Did u notice that he refused to applaud the fans today?
Window Cleaner Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Was rickie injured or was it tactical ? Rest I expect, friday isn't very far away.
alpine_saint Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 More reverse gears than an Italian tank. You really need help with your obsessions, divvie.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 I'm so monumentality p1ssed off this evening. Ricky Lambert fails to score a hat trick yet again, Guly doesn't start, and we are only 3 points clear at the top of the league. If things don't start improving pretty damn quick I'll have to consider withdrawing my support from this terrible football club.
alpine_saint Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Who hates him? P.s Did u notice that he refused to applaud the fans today? I dont blame him. We were w*nk against Blackpool and Portsmouth, irrespective of whether he played or not. Seems unlikely he will start on Friday, and I consider that to be a major problem. He's still our best RM in my opinion (even if that is not saying a lot)
ericofarabia Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Was rickie injured or was it tactical ? Tactical to stop him from scoring a hat trick and giving even more creedence to the WHU theory that we are a 1 man team.
niceandfriendly Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Was rickie injured or was it tactical ? Sounded tactical from the radio fellas. He's about to speak to Radio Solent, so I guess we'll know for sure any moment.
dune Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 You really need help with your obsessions, divvie. It's not just me, don't you remember what Merrington and the other tater said about 'alpine saint'. You're famous for being a complete numpty and a general laughing stock.
Under Weststand Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 If Brum win then we will be much closer, a draw between us and Reading would be fine. Whilst I'd would love a win, i agree with that Dalek I'd take a draw now. 2-wins & 2-draws would give us 90-pts that would be more than enough for top 2, should be enough for top spot.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Great stuff. Never really out of 2nd gear, never really needed to b against a poor Palace side. Kept ball well after 2nd goal to deny Palace a way back into the game, looked easy. Great support & noise from those of us there too. If that's injured Rickie, can't wait for him to be fit again...
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Feeling a lot happier now. Still disappointed we didnt smash the Skates though. Promotion would make up for it so lets see it through.
niceandfriendly Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Rickie "I was a bit worried before the game [about fitness] but felt great after 60 minutes" No worries there.
Super_Uwe Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Just the result we needed today, excellent work. Sounds like the Saints fans who travelled did us proud yet again. Two more goals for Rickie Lambert as well, what a hero! Could well be promoted this time next week depending on results; it's within touching distance now but no doubt Nige will continue to take each game as it comes (as I would fully expect).
Viking Warrior Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Bloody Saints .Get the Sky signal sorted on the Team Coach Nicole. Surely youcan afford 3G or what ever so the lads can enjoy the hammers v brum gamr We need to get the bus sorted LOL

ericofarabia Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Nige full of admiration for the support - hairs on the back of his neck as they approached the ground in the bus and all they could see was Saints fans drinking and singing!!
dune Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 I've not heard this one; go on...... someone sent a text in asking dave to say hello to alpine saint and he said something like "i'm not saying hello to alpine saint".

Lallana's Left Peg Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Fantastic win today. Have said it before but love the way our away tactics have evolved since the first half of the season. Less flashy, more pragmatic, and very controlled. Make it hard for the home team to win, and impose our quality when we have our opportunities. Also really encouraged by the way the team manages to get bad results or disappointing moments out of the system. Today reminded me a bit of the away win at Leyton Orient last season, in terms of support away from home and the importance of the result. Chance to put pressure on West Ham and Reading was taken. Over to them.
bender Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 When Wham & Reading won on Fri the pressure was on us for Saturday. Now the pressure is on Wham and Reading for tonight and tomorrow.
voteforpedro Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Can you not just put each other on ignore? You're constant bickering really is embarrassing.
