s0108787 Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Watching him play for Sheff Weds today, i can't help but think that we could do with his direct running, pace and power at times to offer something a bit different from the tippy tappy, round in circles stuff we seem to be playing down the wings. i rate de ridder, but pace and power would be a good option.
S-Clarke Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 He only really has pace though, he's got no real ability other than that. He was great for us though in L1, so I only have fond memories of him - but I think L1 is his level tbh. Defenders at this level are a little more wise and will deal with him without much issue.
Dearne Valley Saint Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Was thinking exactly the same watching today. Done fantastic for Wednesday so far
ottery st mary Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Notice Madine scored again for Wed.. Big strong Striker and a goal for Carlisle against usat Wembley... I thought he could develop and so did Wed coaching staff... What does he look like in todays game... Too late now ...
Whitey Grandad Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Might have been a useful impact sub for the last ten minutes, but we do have Forte on our books. Didn't Reading wanted too much for him?
Liquidshokk Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Tadanari is supposed to be the injection of pace the team needed. Total bUmmer that he's out for last 5 games

They took advantage of his high profile performances for us, and put a price upwards of £1m on his head which is madness. He's never a £1m player. That's why we moved on and he dossed around for a few months.

He's young and still has time to develop.

Think he'd have been a decent option for us earlier this season when Lambert was absent or in need of a rest. Antonio had a good spell here but i have to agree that L1 is probably his level.
'00' Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Is there a big difference between most of the teams in D1 and the championship??

Can see him being picked up ...still young lad..
Turkish Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Funnily enough I couldn't help thinking that the fact 2 seasons after leaving us he's still playing in league one suggests that's his Level and he wasn't as good as a lot I our know it alls thought. Still he's quick which is all a player needs to be in some of or fans eyes.
Fan The Flames Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Is there a big difference between most of the teams in D1 and the championship?? That won't stop the arm chair managers writing people off before they have been given a chance to play at a higher level. How many Huddersfield fans, when they failed to sign Lambert, stated that he is probably only a L1 striker.
Colbury Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Some clown walking away from the ground on sat actually said to me "you know what our main problem is, not signing Antonio Mikel.. We'd be up by now if we did."
ottery st mary Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Saints connection in Owls squad today....Dave Jones Manager..doing well.. Antonio , Niles Ranger on loan from Newcastle and David Prutton on the bench......and My Aunt Florrie in the crowd scouting for Dawlish Town Reserves..
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 I so admire the ability of some on here to neatly pigeonhole players as if some vast and readily identifiable difference in class exists between L1 and NPC standard players. For what its worth I have always seen this young player as possessing the potential to play at a high level, as long as his development were to continue on its relatively slow, but steady upward trajectory. I stand by that. As for the suggestion that pace is his only asset - well that really is nonsense isn't it.
Turkish Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 /\ he hasn't developed though has he. He's still being loaned out to league one clubs two season on. Why aren't championship clubs falling over themselves to sign this world beater? Why can't he get near the Reading team?
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 I'll bet a whole English £1 that this player will play regularly at a higher than L1 - as soon as next season very possibly.
Turkish Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 I'll bet a whole English £1 that this player will play regularly at a higher than L1 - as soon as next season very possibly. Far worse have so that's no great gamble. Lucky we didn't sign him though hey, not really premier league is he.
Thedelldays Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 n'guessen scored again today....we should sign him
Turkish Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 n'guessen scored again today....we should sign him Like Antonio and Papa Waigo, another one that got away FFS. If only we'd got them all.
Thedelldays Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 Like Antonio and Papa Waigo, another one that got away FFS. If only we'd got them all. I never really got waigo...i thought he was pretty poor. never in my life have I seen any player be woefully offside...and people said it was because he was too clever...?
Turkish Posted 9 April, 2012 Posted 9 April, 2012 I never really got waigo...i thought he was pretty poor. never in my life have I seen any player be woefully offside...and people said it was because he was too clever...? Yeah, he was such a clever player he was always offside because he was so good at running in behind that He was thinking ahead of everyone else on the pitch. Apparantly.
