Could be the point that takes us up...

Now, whilst Pompey fans were celebrating as if theyd won the league, let's not get too down about it. That point took us back top and it could be the point that takes us up and sends Pompey down. They needed 3 points, they didn't get them. We needed one point to go back top...

Enjoy your point you skate bastards, its not enough for you lot...

Agreed, with goal difference being so great, a point is effectively as good as a three because west ham still in reality need to win two more games than us... We are still in a very strong position with five left to play. Up the saints!

Absolutely right. I said similar last night on the match thread. In the cold light of morning they will surely realise that yesterday they were celebrating failure whereas we're back on top and in the driving seat.

I was in a really foul mood yesterday, but today we need to look forward. The significance of yesterday's derby is yet to be decided - a good point on the way to promotion or the match when our wheels fell off? I know which I'd prefer and I know which the Skates would prefer, so let's stay focused and positive and NOT give them what they want...

Could be the point that sees us both in the same division next season. A south coast derby is more the just another game. Both draws this season have been like wins to the Skates - and felt like losses to us.

If West Ham win two and we lose two the goal difference will quickly melt away. Yesterday's point could be very significant.

It's bitterly disappointing to lose any points to them but the derby's done now. No more distractions. I like how Adkins is relentlessly positive. Contrast with say Fat Sam. Look at where we stand with 5 games to go. What's not to like?

I woke up this morning, and realised that this fixture will be entirely forgotten about come 3pm tomorrow.

We dont have the time to feel sorry for ourselves, we are still top and if we win 5 out of 5 we go up as Champions. Win 4 out of 5, we go up - as we know 11 points makes it certain, and that's if WestHam go on a 5 out of 5 winning streak themselves.

I can see Reading being as difficult a game as yesterday, but all of the other fixtures will lack the intensity and we will be better for it.

We are top with 15 points to go. Brighton, Birmingham, Hull, Leicester, Bristol City, Nottm Forest, all have things to play for and all have to play our promotion challengers.

come on boys, I'm proud of what you have achieved this season, but I will be immeasurably proud if you can just take us over the finishing line....

Personally I will p1ss myself laughing if Pompey get relegated by 2 points and we go up by 1....

Agree with all the above. Far too much nonsense has been written about yesterday's game - much of it by people who weren't there. Derby matches make players from both sides do things they would not normally dream of doing - shooting from 35 yards, two players both going for the same ball, rash and silly tackles - even (especially?) the officials get similarly wound up.

For those who say we played poorly and our opponents were the better side, think of who was their MoM - Ashdown, and also ask how many saves KD had to make (one from Etihu (sp?) and their two wonder goals).

Some have said the crowd didn't get under the skin of their players - nonsense, we got to them all right, no problems there.

As for those who are saying the crowd were quiet ... I for one have never heard all 4 sides of the stadium shout and sing so loudly.
