Sunday morning and true to form they're off - Gully this, DeRidder that - from the usual bunch of posters and fans at the game.. Frankly regardless of individual performances the team needs unity, support and belief. Surely people our supporters back Nige and the team now don't they? Idiots texting Solent calling for Adkins to go - god help us!! Yesterday we very unfortunate not to win comfortably, 2 amazing strikes, and a keeper who performed way out of his skin stopped us getting the result.

The team are very close to getting us over the line so we have to stay united and confident. Supporters need to stay with the team not spout all of this rubbish on here and at the games. We have Reading on Friday and whoever Nige picks they need our 100% backing not barracking!! If we stay together good things will happen and promotion is ours if not it could disappear.....

Rant over...

I have a feeling it will be a good coupel of days!

totally agree, so what they got a point, weve been treated to a lovely football team since nige took over, not that long ago we were going bust and in admin , in div 3 with a duck hunter in charge, watching our beloved side lose at home to a team with easy skips on their shirt, never nice against those ****s but move on and get behind em at palace

Got about a quarter of the way through your post before giving up. Alot of us have issues with Guly because week after week, home and away, he is SH*T. I am sick of watching it. De Ridder get flack because he just has no final ball. That sorry excuse of a cut back yesterday was typical of him. There are issues that need addressing and we are quite within our rights to make them known.

6,000 of us will be roaring on the team at Palace, but if that c*nt gets a start again I will be knarcked.

Sure. When the players are out there on the pitch they get 100% support from me.

However, I'm rather trusting that Adkins hasn't come over all happy clappy, top of the league, look at me. I'd want him to be mentioning to Guly that it's not ok to be ambling back while Maguire has the time and space to pick his spot from the edge of the area. I'd also hope that Harding is reminded that an extra defender should not be marking 20 square yards of emptiness in the last minutes of injury time but should be in the face of Norris while waiting for the ball to drop out of the clouds. It might also be worth mentioning to Adam that the ball doesn't need to be walked into the net when 1 on 1 with the keeper.

You see, it's perfectly possible to give every ounce of backing while simultaneously pointing out where things are going wrong.

Personally, I'm of the opinion that Saints are on the verge of screwing things up. That's always been my attitude over some 50 years and it's served me well, especially when things have turned out ok in the end.

D'Accord the last sentence, both for the 'time served' (50 years man and boy myself), and the sentiment. It's what we get for insisting on supporting our local team, the one from the town we come from, rather than choosing to support a top four Prem side hundreds of miles away. The down side is the hope that THIS time things will turn out fine, that' we'll get the rub of the green, the much needed win, the result of some other club going our way. Too often it doesn't happen. It won't stop us turning out tomorrow or, even if we lose, on Friday with renewed hope. The upside is that occasionally, - Ted Bates' side in the mid sixties, Lawrie's '76 and '78 sides and Nige's last year, it happens, - we get the reward and elation of achieving. Life is always the sweeter then and it keeps us going until the next time. As regards tomorrow. I'm just glad we can get back on the pitch quickly to properly put the disappointment of yesterday's last few minutes behind us. It's a truism but should we win Pompey and the result will be a distant memory. COYS
