trousers Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 There were plenty of times in the game where Adam could have gone down in order to make more of the situation....when he was slapped in the face and elbowed in the ribs are two that spring to mind....but he didn't. I think his 'dive' was born out of sheer frustration on several fronts.....not getting anything for the aforementioned Pompey misdemeanours, the fact that he had run himself into the ground for the cause, the fact that he had come mighty close with some fine efforts on goal, the fact he was probably thinking he should have gone down upon the initial contact. I think his 'dive' was just a culmination of events and that he was simple desperate to see his beloved Saints win the game and what it meant to the fans. I'll take Adam's total passion for Saints,if that comes with the odd 'dive' every now and then, any day of the week.
Leicestersaint Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 Keeper just caught him but i thought he could have stayed upright. What a great player he is though!
Whitey Grandad Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 I've just seen an obvious dive at Old Trafford but that won them a penalty and a man sent off.
Appy Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 He seems to of entered this into his game recently, refs seem to be picking up on it. Cut it out Adam.

supersonic Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 It was a dive, an no need for it. As much as I like Lallana, that was embarrassing
Roger Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 Keeper just caught him but i thought he could have stayed upright. What a great player he is though! Seen much much better saints players than him. The games about end product.
bender Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 I think he may have got a clip but made the decision to go down way too late.
Johnny Shearer Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 Went down, did the ol' own leg trip which the players are so good at. I don't understand why he didnt try and slot it in with his left instead of carrying on though.
corsacar saint Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 It was not a penalty if that is what you are asking. I sit just to the right of the goal and high enough up,to have had a perfectly good view of the incident.

Nexstar Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 Definite dive, and a very poor one at that! Nobody likes to see it and it's not something I expect at Saints. Adam also tried it at West Ham, he needs to stop.
Bensfcno1 Posted 8 April, 2012 Share Posted 8 April, 2012 Can we not praise him for his motm performance and 110% commitment instead of slating him for going down too late after bein touched. I he went down wen touched, we have all seen pens given for less. Also wen he was slapped many prem players would have gne dwn and got Rocha sent off! Only if we actually thought he was man of the match - which I didn't. Nobody is slating him - just offering some sound advise really. He went down five minutes after the event - not only is it cheating, but it actually makes him look a complete clown. I was actually quite surprised that the pompey players didnt make too much of it. He is much better than that, as others have said it appears to be creeping into his game - and we would prefer not to see it. Read the thread title, it asks for a straight opinion, which is what most people are giving. Perhaps you'd be better off in the MOTM thread - if there is one.
