Haven't seen highlights so just wondered if anyone had a conclusive verdict on this.

From where I was - admittedly not a good view, it looked like he danced past the goalkeeper and then bottled it and flopped much like Andy Carroll did last week for Liverpool.

Was it a foul? thought he could have stayed on his feet and scored.

Dive for me - and I was sat in perfect view in the Chapel. Ball got away from him after he 'beat' the keeper so he did the only thing he thought he could to get something out of the moment

Sat in the Chapel and seeing it right in front of me, without any shadow of a doubt it was the most shameful and at the same time pathetic dive, the majority around me were all asking what Lallana was playing at!

Quite disappointing to see that from such a gifted player.

Really don't know why he didnt just shoot...he was 1 on 1 FFS.

I think it was Rocha that "fouled" him, and he was already on a booking. Hoping to get him sent off I assume.

How is this even a questiom? Clearly a dive. Anyone that says otherwise hasn't got a clue about football. The most annoying thing is he could have either shot early or pulled it back.

Indeed, but the point still stands - Ashdown would have been off if he'd given a penalty.

It wasn't even a good f*cking dive...

Ashdown would have stayed on. Lallana was not running towards goal. I believe that Adam's left foot was very slightly caught, but that he had also pushed the ball too far and when he realised that he wasn't going to get to it decided to go down. If he'd gone down instantly he might have had a chance.

he did the hard bit, lost his marker....he then tried to take it round the keeper, ran out of pitch and fell over.......

why oh why he never just put his foot through the ball I will never know

If Lallana spent more time playing football and less appealing decisions with his hand in the air to the ref he might be decent. Feel free to feed that back 'VMAN'.

Because although the lad has a great touch, he's quite thick as a footballer?

Know him do you, or another attack on a club player, I suspect you are really a skate on a long term wind up!

Just watched the football league show...thought he dived yesterday, during the match, and the highlights confirmed it. I think he realised he'd blown the chance to shoot and tried to get something from the situation...not great to see HTBH.

Having said that 1st half he got battered by Rocha and got very little protection from the ref. Adam still looked like the saints player most up for it yesterday dodgy dive aside he gave it everything yesterday.

Lallana, I've said it once and i'll say it a million more times. Great player, technically one of the best in england. However his decision making needs a lot of improvement before he can achieve his full potential. But it's getting better so at least thats something.

That's right. Superb player but when in centre forward territory is unsure what to do. But to dive against anyone is tragic.

From my view, I thought he could have stayed on his feet but realised the angle was too tight to score.

I'm with this,I was sat pretty close and he dived,I thought we were above all that nonsense and tbh he should have shot first time or pulled it back.

Who gives a toss now...irrelevant thread

Imagine though if it had been Guly....the posting would be rabid

but it was not july...lallana created opportunities kept the ball, won corners, created chances

july still failed to jump for a single header....

get over it, guly was an absolute disgrace yesterday

Seriously though, he needs to cut this out. He's a very good player, but could be a great player if his decision making was better and quicker. If he was half a second quicker in his head he'd be awesome.

Posted

There were a lot of times earlier on where he stayed on his feet when lesser players would have gone down. Yes it was a dive towards the end, but you could see it was more out of frustration than anything else. It looked like he really lost his cool for the last 10 minutes of the game.

Great player but blatant dive. He needs to learn to bloody shoot instead of taking that extra touch, he'd have 20 goals instead of 12 if he did.

Call yourself Saints fans? Cut the guy some slack FFS. He tried to take it round Ashdown (OK, wrong decision) but the Skate Bastard definitely connects with a swinging leg. Adam tries to go for the ball anyway and when he realises he can't get there, goes down hoping the ref has seen the contact and might give it. it's not a ****ing dive in the conventional sense of there being no contact. Back your own player FFS.

Totally agree.

Really?

Take your red and white tinted glasses off mate. He took 2 or 3 steps before he fell to the ground. He dived.

he did dive, should have had a pop before taking extra touches. he was a constant threat all game though

No one is suggesting he didn't dive....

Get over what?..differing opinion or the fact i do not agree with ANY of our players getting slagged off...shameful

Using the word DISGRACE!!....you should be ashamed of yourself.....

I have only seen it once on the FL programme but I thought the keeper caught him. He was going nowhere and took a step too many before falling. So I thought it was a foul but also a dive.
